  1. I don't know what you need a lawyer for..... But way to go on representing you Catholic College. The Felician Sisters are going to be real proud of you.
  2. The Herald is not exactly the finest example of journalism. It is not as bad as the NY Post, but it is a tabloid in both sense of the word. The Boston Globe is a much better source for sports news.

  4. I think you are both missing an important part of the equation, it is not just Moss, but the guy throwing the ball. I know your guy was taken #1 overall and ours was a lowly late 6th rounder.......
  5. That stat is not accurate, they had a bye week before both their SB loses. And 3 different divisional loses. Nor are stats like that really relevant. What the Patriots did against the Houston Oilers in 1976 really doesn't mean much. The fact that the Giants won their SB in large part because of the brilliance of their ex-defensive coordinator is relevant. That Tom Brady is 3-0 in the SB relevant. That the Patriots as a team has much more playoff experience relevant. What either team did before some of the players were even born is trivia.
  6. I didn't say it was obscure, just interesting.
  7. I am Patriot fan, I won't say that Wes has more pure talent then Plax. But Wes does more to strength the NE offense than Plax does for the Giants offense. If you look at what Wes did at Miami it is clear that Wes makes the NE offense better and the NE offense makes Wes better. And it is not just Wes, Moss is having his best year ever. In fact if you look at almost any player that left another team and came to the Patriots they have had a better year as a Patriot than with their old team. Likewise when players who have had great season with the Pats leave for a big FA contract they almost always under-perform with their new team. Wes improves the system, but the system also improves Wes. That is why NE is going to their 4th SB in 7 years.
  8. From a statistical stand point. Yeah. 16th on offense, 10-6 record, only 22 net points, -9 on turnovers, almost as many ints as passing Tds. From a season long stats perspective the Giants are not close to being one of the two top teams in the NFL. From a season long stats perspective this SB is probably one of the worst mismatches in the history of the NFL b/c along with the Giants mediocre statistical year the Patriots are having one of the greatest statistical years ever. However, I don't view this game as a huge mismatch. Looking solely at the stats neglects that many of the Patriots great stats come from early in the season and much of the poor stats for the Giants does as well. By observing the last few games of the season, it is clear that the Giants are playing in the last few games much better than the season avg. stats. And the game week 17, clearly show the teams are not. The Patriots are the better team, they simply have better players and a better system, well suited for the weather in an AZ dome. But this is not a mismatch like Bears-Patriots in 85.
  9. Not really there isn't much tape on Cassel. Unless his high school kept tapes. If Brady is truly out the only way we win is if Maroney breaks the SB record for rushing.
  10. Day 2 of Tom Brady not being at the media portion of practice. BB refused to answer question saying that the team will be issuing an injury report on Wed. Both Welker and Stalworth were asked about it, both claim BB approached them about playing QB. My take: elaborate (and successful) ploy to the the medidiots busy. Not one question to BB or players about Randy or his legal troubles.
  11. Boston and New York have a longstanding sports rivalary with the Red Sox and Yankees. And the Yankees are a team pretty much anybody who is not a Yankee fan despises. When the Red Sox play the Yankees pretty much everybody who is a fan of neither team roots for the Red Sox, this has wained a bit since we won the WS, but still the Yankees are the most hated team in baseball in general and Steinbrenner is the most hated person in baseball. Likewise right now the team pretty much anybody who is not a Patriots fan, want to see the Patriots lose, and are the most hated team in Football right now. And just as Stienbrenner is hated so is Belichick. With the exception of some bitter Dallas fans and some Eli hating Charger fans, pretty much the entire world is rooting for the Giants. Many don't think you can pull it off, but they are rooting for the Cinderella story Giants to defeat the evil empire Patriots. I can remember back to 2001 when we were the Cinderella, and pretty much everybody was rooting for use to beat the Rams. The contempt for both stems primarily from dominance and a personality that turns many off of from Steinbrenner and Belichick, along with a perception that each team has "bought their way" to championships instead of drafting. I have seen several commentators say that the Patriots have become the Yankees of football. So now we sort of have a role reversal. I am not looking to start a fight about why one ought hate or not hate any of the teams mentioned. My question is "which do you enjoy more? being a fan of the evil empire Yankees or the lovable Giants? I am starting to enjoy being hated more than being loved.
  12. Every time either the New England Patriots or New York Giants have won a super bowl Bill Belichick has gotten a ring - either as a head coach or defensive coordinator.
  13. So may the Jets and Dolphins. One winning season in a row is not when you start talking dynasty.
  14. I am not surprised Peter King get a lot of hate mail from New England, he loves to attack the Patriots. But I have no idea why anybody would think the NE OC deserved an award this week. Special teams coach absolutely, DC sure. But this was one of the worst offensive performances NE has had all year.
  15. Well I grew up in Mass. Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins, Patriots. Root, root, root for the home team. Plus it pissed off my dad who is from Brooklyn- Yankees, Knicks, Rangers, Giants. Mom nearly killed my dad when she learned that me and my sister had learned new words from listening to my dad watch the Giants on TV. Mom still roots for the Brooklyn Dodgers and gets excited every time a rumor surfaces they might move back. This had been a good year for Boston sports, hasn't always been that way. 86' was the worst heartbreak year, destroyed in the SB then one ground ball away from breaking the curse. But this year we got a shot at three championships. Now if the Bruins could just their act together.....
  16. Eli is a big "Seinfeld" fan. One of the local affiliates in Green Bay made a big deal of pulling the show this past weekend so as not to give comfort to the enemy. "I don't watch "Seinfeld' before games," Manning said. "The funniest part about it all was, they made a big deal that they took "Seinfeld' off the air. I was sitting in the hotel at 5:30 (on Saturday) and I was flipping through, and there's "Seinfeld.' It was on TBS. I didn't watch it anyway." http://www.c-n.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?A.../801220311/1011
  17. Can't put an exact date on it, but it was the 70s, I started paying attention to football. And have always rooted for the Patriots. Needless to say up until recently I would have to root for other teams in the post-season, but never Dallas. I hate Landry and "America's Team." The Cheerleaders were hot though.
  18. Nope. I am my team is the New England Patriots.
  19. Three TDs out of 12 possessions is not scoring at will. The 4 FG had the Chargers within in 2 going into the 4 quarter. But the SB will be a higher scoring game for both sides.
  20. On the Chargers MB they have a thread of other teams MBs.
  21. Dynasty? Two winning seasons in 5 years doesn't quite qualifies as a dynasty.
  22. Recorded before the AFCCG and NFCCG. Archie Manning, former qb and father of Peyton and Eli, predicted that NE would be in the SB and win the SB. He made no prediction regarding the NFCCG. http://video.msn.com/?mkt=en-us&fg=rss...f2e&from=33 Although predicting NE instead of the Giants is sound football analysis, as a father he is horrible.
  23. More like 1985 where a scrappy team from the weaker division played one of the most dominant teams in NFL history.
