  1. He's a better blocker. He's nowhere near Engram on receiving ability.
  2. Nope....most of the time he's cutting in or on a drag route where there's a lapse in coverage and/or missed tackle, where he burns the D for a big gain with YAC.
  3. He lost 4 out of 5 total, but didn't have four straight double digit losing seasons.
  4. Eli will be able to turn it around and be a pro bowl caliber QB again to help us go on a run. We can rebuild and make a run at the same time! The offensive line is rebuilt, and we finally have a professional line! Solder had a good 2nd half last year and will return to good form, Hernandez will be better this year, Halapio is back and will be fine, and the right side will be great with veterans in Zietler and Remmers. Schurmer will be able to open up the playbook more and be more creative, especially with Barkley! Schurmer will be able to ditch the 4 yard curl/in/out routes to Engram, and checkdowns to Barkely behind the line of scrimmage. Getting Jabril Peppers is like having the Landon Collins of 2016 reborn! He was a first round pick so surely he’ll be just as good! (sidenote, I actually agree with letting Collins walk, for the money he wanted). Our CB’s are young, but they are all steals! Every rookie CB we have (Baker, Ballentine, Love) plus Beal could all be starters and immediate contributors. We’ll be fine at CB. We actually have so much talent it will be difficult to decide who will start. Our LBs have a ton of potential! Lorenzo Carter will come into his own, Oshames will be a good pass rush specialist, Olgeltree is healthy again and will be a leader, and Tae Davis looks like a stud. Bethea is a veteran leader and is a huge upgrade over Curtis Riley. We have great depth at WR! Addition by subtraction by getting rid of Beckham! Plus Engram will return from Injury, opening things up even more. Our DL is so good, especially with adding Dexter Lawrence, that they will collapse the pocket and support a much better pass rush than last year. Okay, I'm embellishing for effect, but you get the point.
  5. There's a lot of blame to go around. Truth is they're just not a very good team, with holes all over the roster (blame that on the front office), but are have a sub-par coach who is a career loser. He's headed for his fourth straight double digit loss season. Do you know of any other coach who has had four straight double digit losing seasons that has made it in this league?
  6. So we're giving up two draft picks to audition a player who's been in the league for 4 plus years for 8 games?
  7. I feel the exact same way. These were all my sentiments (Buchanon, Slayton, Baker) a week or two ago, only to have them dashed once again. Not to mention the sentiment "Sterling will be back on the field soon...this is just a temporary injury, going through the protocols" now to have that fucking change to being career threatening. I need to set my expectations lower.
  8. This offensive line is horrendous. They haven't been able to put together an offensive line for the better part of the past five years. Solder is a disaster. Halapio is awful, and why we rely on these undrafted guys off the street like this (e.g. Chad Wheeler) to man critical roles at times is mind boggling. Remmers is a backup at best. Hernandez can't play well without a good supporting line around him. Check out this as an illustration of incompetence; here are the starters at RT the past several years; Marshall Newhouse, Bobby Hart, Ereck Flowers, Chad Wheeler, Mike Remmers. That goes back to 2014. Meanwhile, that same year is when we last had an okay LT in Will Beatty and haven't had a better LT since. Dumb signings that ate up cap space like Pulley ($3mm per year for a backup?) and Omanah's dead cap. Check out Dallas, who has properly invested in a o line, and how they absolutely plowed over the Giants last night (and I'm surprised they didn't try to run the ball more) plus gave Dack all the time in the world. Oh, plus the entire defense is terrible, and Baker should not be starting at this point. The play calling is so generic. Not having Shepherd is huge, but the misuse of Saquan, even with a rookie qb, is baffling. A mobile qb + one of the most dynamic rbs in the league should not result in 5 yard curl routes to Evan Engram.
  9. McAdoo and Schurmer are still trying to master the art of the 5 yard dump off. 4 years of this shit.
  10. Boy that gift of a win in Tampa and win against the lousy Redskins really went to their heads. Really went to Schurmer's head
  11. Now here comes a drive where cowboys walk all over our defense.
  12. Maybe Jenkins could try tackling you fucking pussy
  13. The Brown's post-game Reddit is hilarious. The Jet's is a good one too.
  14. I think Darnold will still be good. He is playing behind an absolute garbage OL this season, and a moron in Adam Gase.
  15. One thing he has going for him is that Daniel Jones does appear to be developing nicely under him. Not that it's all because of Schurmer, but if you can't ignore the progress.
  16. Getty knows how to give up draft picks when he doesn't need to.
  17. https://www.giants.com/video/darius-slayton-snags-fingertip-grab-in-end-zone-for-35-yard-touchdown https://www.giants.com/video/daniel-jones-evades-the-rush-to-deliver-downfield-strike-to-darius-slayton
  18. Whether they make the deal now or in the offseason, it's still a dumb move to give up draft picks for him. Just wait to the offseason to sign him. There's no real advantage in terms of being able to sign him now. and they're not going to franchise him for a $20m+ cap charge.
  19. Franchise is of course an option but is he a pro bowler or top 5 DL? Do we want to pay him $20mm plus on a 1 year deal? I don't think so
