  1. If DRC takes a pay cut down to like 4-5 mill, Id consider keeping him.
  2. He's a 3rd corner at best at this point. You want to pay a 3rd corner $8.5mm next year?
  3. Also, how could I forget: Cut Marshall too. That'll save about $5mm as well.
  4. I think we should cut DRC (savings of $6.5mm) Jerry ($2.4mm), Dwayne Harris ($2.4mm), That's $11mm in savings right there, and puts out 2018 free cap number up to $31mm.
  5. He's also a man that can't seem to stay on the field, unfortunately. Though, that may work to our favor...since that may turn off other teams, and perhaps we can resign him to a cheap one year "prove it" deal. Same again with re-signing Fluker.
  6. Well theyll have to find a way. Especially since Pugh is injury prone and a free agent.
  7. Here's what I'll give Flowers...if Flowers is flanked by B to A grade offensive lineman at LG, C, RG, and RT, I can live with that. I think he'll do better if he has better players around him (granted, that can be said for most OL). What I'm trying to say is, I think we need to find at least three starting caliber OL this offseason. Easier said than done I know. If we can't fill all of those gaps next to Flowers, but can find a great LT, why not pursue it and potentially bump Flowers inside to Guard?
  8. Like I said...unlike in the first half of the season where hes had 4-5 plays per game where he runs around in a circle and doesnt even touch the defender, hes now down to 3-4 of those per game. Hes moved up to a D+.
  9. I've watched Flowers...have you? He's marginal at best. His improvement is like going from a D- to a D+. He's not a long term solution at that position.
  10. For Beckham, we have the one year tender of ~$8.5mm for next year. He'll likely have to play under or sign an extension to that.
  11. Exactly what wrinkle was there, outside of maybe Gallman looking like he has a future on this offense?
  12. Guys who have a future here - likely: Gallman Darkwa Engram Shepherd Ellison Pugh Harrison Tomlinson JPP Vernon Goodson Collins Jenkins But we need many more. Guys like Munson and Brett Jones are just depth/backups.
  13. We have no OL, WR, secondary, or LB...Also, JPP and Vernon are clearly injured and underwhelming. We simply dont have the personnel to be competitive.
  14. Another exciting day of dump offs and 3 yard in/out routes with 2 ints and less than 6 yards per pass attempt, for a total of 10 points.
  15. We don't know what we have. Therefore if a potential franchise QB is there when we draft, we draft him.
  16. Agreed. That's why I say, we're rarely in a top 5 position...so if we think a potential franchise QB is available when we pick (assuming we're top 5), I think we have to jump at taking him.
  17. I'm not so sure about drafting a RB, particularly while we have a bad OL and fixing it will require substantial resources (signings and high draft picks), plus while Eli is so close to the end of his career (1 year left on contract, right?), plus while being in a top 5 draft position or in general in a position to draft a top QB is so elusive. I'd like to go through the full pre-draft evaluation process and hear more the OL's and QBs, assuming Darnold and Rosen. If a future franchise QB is there, you take him. Also, Barkey is good, but I don't see Zeke, Bell, or Fournette in him. Besides, all of those guys have decent OLs, unlike the giants. We all had a similar debate in 2004 when we drafted Eli. Do we stick with Collins or Warner, and instead draft another position? Or do we pick the guy we believe can be a franchise QB?
  18. Hell no. Look at the teams we're playing. They're going to murder us.
  19. Releasing Marshall isn't a bad idea, provided we re-invest the cap savings (~$5mm) into signing another WR, a suitable #2 WR. If we can't find a suitable #2 WR for that price, then we may as well keep Marshall around for one more year.
  20. I was thinking of a somewhat similar plan, from a personnel point of view. 1 - OL - Pugh, Jones, and Fluker should remain starters at LG, C, and RG respectively. We're left with a dire need for starting caliber RT and LT. This is one I'd address via free agency rather than the draft. Behind them, can draft mid-rounds for depth and future development. 2 - LB situation - Casillas, Kennard, Robinson, and Sheppard are all free agents. They were also nothing special anyway. I'd like them all walk, unless we can get Kennard on the cheap to remain at SAM. In any case, we need to bring in two starting caliber outside LBs, particularly a WILL LB. 3 - QB - Draft either Darnold or Rosen, with the top 3-4 pick. Eli should have one or two good years left in him, and they can develop behind him. 4 - Next in line for priorities is the secondary. Draft heavy in the mid-rounds at CB and S. 5 - Remaining priorities are RB and depth at DL.
  21. True. I'll try on my iphone later, instead of desktop.
  22. A bunch of shit starting popping up on the NYDN website, over the article. Got tired of that bullshit and stopped reading after a paragraph. Can't deal with that shit. They should learn how to run ads and content on a website one of these days.
