Line Backers

Remember back in the good old days when we had a line backing crew that could pass rush like hell and drop back into pass coverage and run down Running backs? why is it that we dont do this more ?

why must we keep the slow ones on the field ?

I have not been impressed with Lavar yet. what a bust/waste.....emmons aint no spring chicken either, I have seen runnnig backs simply run right around him off a corner.

I feel during the 2 week "vacation" we should work on getting the young LBers (blackburn, torbor,Wilkinson) on the field and start using them in blitz packages we need to start punching teams right square in the mouth .

This will help our secondary also as long as a Lber can get in the back field or tie up a blocker and letting one of our DE's in and make the QB pull up and run or scrammble. We have relied on Osi and Strahan too much now we dont get any kind of a push at all once one team figures out how to stop them they all do and look how the last 3 games have gone.

I think all parts of the defense need to be looked at.

that maybe true but Lughead brings up a great point. Jakk is raising the same issue (although he's going after Strahan.. which I oppose). However, I think our young LBs should get on the field more.. especially replacing Emmons. Lavar needs more time on the field before we decide.

We've gone from being the Chicago Bears (who still have no offense) to the San Diego Chargers (who now play defense).

While we used to need 10 points to win a game, we now need 34. This is not your daddy's New York Giants. All we need is a dome now.

I could go for some dome now right now

Tim Lewis needs to let Lavar unleash hell before we can decide whether he's a bust or not.

Lavar Arrington/Coverage LB = Michael Vick/Pocket QB.

unleash hell?????????? :LMAO:

hell that aint comingfrom Lavar. Get him out of NY. 22.5 carrer sacks in 6 seasons thats horrible. He has to man up and play like the man/animal we are paying him to be

2000. tackles (73) and solos (53), and 3d in sacks (4.0)…Also had 5 passes defensed…

2001 tackles (100), 7 for loss and 9 passes defended…Had 2 fumble recoveries and

returned 3 interceptions for 120 yards and a touchdown.

2002 takles (107) 11 sacks 4 forced fumbles and 3 fumble recoveries

2003 116 tackles (71 solo) and posted a career-high 7 forced fumbles, recorded

6 sacks and 2 fumble recoveries…

2004: Was hampered with a knee injury for the majority of the 2004 season, playing

in only 4 games with 2 starts…Finished the season with 18 tackles (10 solo), 1

sack and 1 pass defensed

2005 tackles (53) interception (1) forced fumble (1)

2006 with the Giants............ well he showed up at training camp with a segway

NFL: Considered one of the most dominant and athletic linebackers in the NFL…

Has played in 79 regular season games with 67 starts, plus 2 postseason starts…

Has been credited with 467 tackles (335 solo), 22.5 sacks, 11 forced fumbles,

7 fumble recoveries and 3 interceptions…Played for the NFC Pro Bowl team every season

from 2001-2003.

Well we ain't gonna know what we have until Lewis calls a blitz for Arrington instead of dropping him into coverage on every play.
