Virginia Giant
Jordan Raanan ESPN Staff Writer From Tiki Barber (Tiki and Tierney/CBS Sports Radio), who knows a little something about being an all-around back: "Saquon Barkley might not be an every down back. He cannot pass protect. It's becoming glaring... and it's going to be a liability... Recognition is one and (two), you gotta go hit a dude. Saquon Barkley is a big man who doesn't want to hit anybody. It's frustrating to watch. He's a great back, but he's frustrating to watch trying to pass protect." BlueInCanada
He isn't wrong, Saquon's blocking has gotten Jones sacked. Judge tore him a new asshole in camp over it as well.
Sephiroth
Whelp, last time Tiki opened his mouth like this, we won the Super Bowl. I support this decision.
mastershake
I've said from the beginning. Saquon Barkely's toughness is just average. He's not a grinder. He's not a downhill guy. Not that you don't need to do inside runs with him...you certainly do. But he's not going to give you 20-25 plus interior carries. Gallman, who is smaller weight wise, is far tougher and should be incorporated into the mix. We should be running sets with Slayton, Shepherd, Barkely, Engram, and Gallman, especially shotgun and 3rd down and long formations.
