Virginia Giant
The Rangers stranglehold on the AL is over, I'll be rooting for the local teams the rest of the way, the O's and Nats. But we still have a great team and with some retooling we'll be back. I'm glad I got to see 2 world series teams, winning one would have been great and cringe whenevere I hear the phrase "game 6" but ya know not many teams go to 2 straight world series'. Can't wait for next year Hamilton is as good as gone. He really fell flat when we needed him the most and with all the baggage he carries and the drama he brings, the Rangers will just try to make the team that gets him (the Yankees) overpay. Yu is for real, showed he has what it takes in big games. I see some big changes comeing. I think Michael Young may finally be getting his wish, Kinsler takes over the "super Utility" role and Jurikson Profar gets the Andrus treatment next year. I liked what I saw from Moreland when he was healthy this season but I wouldn't mind seeing Laroche. But I don't think we'll get him. Read that we might go after AJ Perzinski and Brandon McCarthy, but if we can't sign Dempster we'll need to go after Greinke.
fringe
It was a great accomplishment to get there 2 years in a row. Should've won last year, for sure.
Virginia Giant
It was a great accomplishment to get there 2 years in a row. Should've won last year, for sure. Yeah last year really broke my heart, took me a long long time to get over it. I take a little solace now knowing we were within a strike, twice, and in my mind we deserved the win. But it was still a good run and we have a good core group of guys. Yu and Harrison are front line starters and Holland is better than he showed this year. I hope we can sign Dempster. Allstarjim
I think Hamilton will return to Texas. Here's why: There won't be a lot of competition for his services. The Angels emptied their wallets on Pujols, and they have Trout and Trumbo as great young bats, anyway. The Dodgers gave up a fortune for Adrian Gonzalez, Carl Crawford, and Beckett. The Yankees may shy away from offering an enormous contract because of his personal demons, and being in New York, that could be too much of a combustible situation, too much risk involved. The Mets can't afford him. The Red Sox? See the Yankees. But I think it's a little more possible. The Phillies would definitely be interested. But with all teams involved, they will have to balance risk with the contract. Hamilton probably knows that the best place for him is to stay in Arlington. I believe the Rangers are going to let him test the waters to determine the market, because the Rangers know there's a good chance the market won't be as hot for him as his agent would like. fringe
The Dodgers will definitely be buyers this season. Remember, they are a big market team who has underspent for the last 5 years with the McCord mess. They'll make a play for him.

I just don't see it with all the money they tied up with Gonzalez, Crawford, and Beckett.

The money is probably better spent on pitching but they will spend.
