Since Tynes can't hit from 48 on his best day, I'm not sure if this really wins the job for Tynes or not. Check his numbers... I was totally with you on this, something about Tynes has always given me a bad vibe, but my gut feeling about him didn't match up with reality. But... I had once read something convincing about how kickoff distance can mean more for a kicker than the % of kicks he makes. I won't bore you with the details (mostly since I don't feel like finding the damn article again, lol), the point was that sometimes its worth trading a few points for even MORE points in field position.
