  1. Not bad, but after getting Madison and McQuarters in free agency, I kinda doubt we'll spend 3 picks on the secondary. And I can't see waiting until the 3rd round to get a LB given the depth in the draft at the position. 1st - LB (E. Sims, D. Ryans, B. Carpenter) 2nd - DT (C. Wroten, R. Wright) 3rd - CB (A. Phillips, W. Blackmon) I do like the Devin Aromashodu pick in the 4th.
  2. I would hope that we'd go with LB in the first given the depth in the position in this year's draft. I'd also hope to see a FA linebacker signed as well.
  3. After what happened to our linebacker core last season, you should know full well that we are severely lacking in that department. Pierce is quality. Emmons has not stayed healthy. Torbor is still learning. Definitely need help and I really don't see any rookie stepping in and starting. Arrington or Peterson should be signed and we should draft LB in the first round.
  4. I like the signing. Provides depth at return guys and in the secondary. I'd love to still see a LBer and a DT in free agency.
  5. Could still do that. I think we've got room for a Chris Hope and a DT yet in free agency. Could be wrong, but I'm thinking that might be the case.
  6. For me, it's Hope, Demps, Tank Williams in that order.
  7. Hasn't signed anywhere yet, but has mentioned publicly that he wants to remain in the NFC East and he does not want to play for the Cowboys. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that leaves the Eagles and Giants. And the Eagles just signed Shawn Barber (to play along Dhani Jones and Jeremiah Trotter). Arrington has visited the team already, so many are thinking that it's only a matter of time.
  8. Yeah, I'd really like to know how exactly the Redskins do this. It's nothing new because they do it every year, but I'd like to know this year specifically how they're managing to be over the cap and continue to dish out fat contracts.
  9. Thanks. Would love to see Bernard - 8.5 sacks last season in Seattle, but he could very well be out of the price range. Then again, if he realizes that he'll be lining up with arguably the best DE combination leaguewide in Strahan and Umenyiora, that could be awfully tempting for him.
  10. Don't know what the chances are, but as long as we get one of the FA LBers(Arrington, Witherspoon, Peterson), I'll be happy. EDIT: Scratch Witherspoon off that list. Just noticed he was picked up by the Rams.
  11. Don't know much about either Bernard or Pickett, but from what I can tell, both would be equivalent to or better than the departed Clancy.
  12. All he'd have to do is let TO sit on their roster and not move him.
  13. I realize that it will be more difficult to cut him in later years, but until a suitable replacement is available, there's really no reason to get rid of him. His penalties suck, his back sucks, but again, I don't know of any LTs out there that can come in and do better.
  14. That would be nice, very nice indeed. I'd be just as happy with Adam Archuleta or Corey Chavous too, but Hope definitely leads that list. EDIT: ADD MARLON MCCREE TO THAT LIST IF HE HASN'T BEEN SIGNED BY ANYONE ELSE YET. Looking for Arrington, Witherspoon, Peterson, or June (yeah, I think he's worth the draft pick we'd have to give up due to his being a RFA) at OLB
  15. Keep Petitgout, just restructure the deal to save money. Extend contract, decrease base salaries, increase bonus, etc.
  16. Wouldn't mind him coming here, but definitely not a priority.
  17. Among their own free agents, the Giants are close to coming to terms with defensive tackle Kendrick Clancy, who has the same interest in returning as the team has in keeping him. Punt returner Chad Morton is also on Accorsi's list to re-sign. And now, he has the money to do so.
  18. I agree that it's just a slight upgrade. I'm just glad we won't see Will Allen getting burned deep over and over in a single game again. Regarding the DT, did you catch the end of the article about the liklihood of resigining Clancy?
  19. Best part of that article is the news on Clancy.
  20. No better replacements that I can think of when it comes to Luke, and yeah, that'd be nice if he restructured. I think that we can pick up Arrington and Madison without too much problem as is. I think we could even go after a safety in free agency as well. Arrington wouldn't be my first choice for free agent linebacker, but if he's wanting to play here that badly, he may be willing to accept slightly less $$$ than some of the other names.
  21. Exactly how tired do you get of explaining the salary cap to people too lazy to look it up?
  22. Free Agent (in order) -CB -LB -S Draft (in order) -LB -DT -CB -WR
  23. I, too, am in favor of keeping Joseph around. I think that he's shown what he can do here and there. He hasn't been near as consistent as we would all like him to be. I don't think he's getting many double teams because of our DEs, and I don't think it's a fatigue issue as we do have a rotation on the DLine, but for what he has shown, I just wouldn't want to see him let go.
  24. In free agency, I'd like to pick up a CB (like Sam Madison, Ronde Barber, Ricky Manning Jr., or Ike Taylor) I'd also like to see an Outside Linebacker (like Witherspoon, Arrington, Peterson, June). And we'd also want a safety (like Chavous, Archuleta, Hope). That's 3 free agents that are fairly big names, which might and might not be do-able depending on the contracts each of them are looking for. We could be easily outbid by many other teams, specifically the Eagles who now have something like 25 million in cap space, so the extra 10 million we got doesn't mean that will be able to splurge, because obviously, every team got that same 10 million. Basically, the extra 10 mil will allow us to sign our own free agents if we choose to do so as well as pursue a few free agents. I just don't think that we all the options out there that bringing in 3 guys will be that difficult. 1st round, for Linebacker --Ernie Sims --DeMeco Ryans --Bobby Carpenter (Although from what I've read about Lawson, I wouldn't be opposed to him either) 2nd round, for Defensive Tackle --Claude Wroten --Rodirique Wright 3rd Round, for Cornerback --Anwar Phillips --Will Blackmon 4th Round, for Wide Receiver --Cory Rodgers --Devin Aromashodu --Brandon Marshall
