  1. Just clipped the betting lines out of Sunday's paper...

Overall, Pats still favored by 3.5

    Interesting betting lines include:

O/U of 1 minute, 34 seconds -- length of national anthem (Kelly Clarkson)

O/U of 5.5 seconds -- length of time Clarkson holds the word "brave"

O/U of 5.5 times -- they will show Peyton Manning on TV

O/U of 2.5 times -- they will mention Andrew Luck on TV

O/U of 46.5 -- Neilson Rating for the game

O/U of 115 million -- number of viewers

there are a bunch of others..

  2. you had seats? and then gave them up? The statement was "They priced allot of fans out of thier seats"

we knew poeple who had seats in thier families for 50 years and where priced out of thier seats when the PSL's struck. That was the point of the statement. And as made evident by Giants LLC calling angel wings over here the waiting list is no more. The stadium is not sold out before the season starts. Which hasen't happend in many many years.

No, I had the opportunity to buy them because I had been on the waiting list long enough and I suppose with the PSLs and shitty economy and the increased seating in the new stadium...I finally got my opportunity to buy. Between the time of signing up on the waiting list and the time I got the phone call, I bought a house and proposed...thereby eliminating any possibility of being able to afford them.

Back when I was simply renting for extremely cheap and making good money, I probably could've swung it. Timing just screwed me.

  3. I got a call from Eli Manning before the Dallas game and Justin Tuck before the Atlanta game.

They priced allot of fans out of thier seats with the PSL's. Whats worse is they will proly rasie ticket prices if they win the SB.

Nah...for me...I bought a house and am getting married...priced myself out.

  4. He was a captain last year, and this year he was sitting on the FA wire for pretty much the entire season. How much bigger of a slap in the face do you get?

Teams are constantly trying to improve themselves. He was a victim of that. He said himself it wasn't a personal decision. But given he turned out to be a bigger and better impact this year than the rookies...to not be invited back to at least compete for the positions would be an insult...

  5. I hope he realizes how good he has it hear playing next to the guys he's playing next to. Playing opposite guys like Tuck and JPP is what get him the stats that he gets. If he is traded, I hope the Giants ask for no less than a #1 and #2 AND that he's traded to a team selecting in the top 1/2 of the draft THIS year.

    Otherwise, keep him here.

  6. Yeah you're right Kareem Mckenzie was a rape victim during that game.

Can't say that he was the only one....

I guess at the end of the day, it's what you're team needs more at the time, momentum or health.

  7. I understand the momentum argument. Green Bay was rusty...we beat them when they were clearly off their standard. Please don't take this as the Giants not earning that win. They did...but GB helped.

I think after the tough game against SF, we were physically beat up a bit and it did our whole team, not just Eli, a lot of good to get some relaxation. That, and the fact that most of the guys haven't been through SB week before. So I really think that the extra day or two to just get your head right and learn what to expect. Outlining what to do when, knowing what's coming, and not being surprised or shocked by the hugeness of it all...I think is almost as important as the gameplanning preparation.

  8. Tiki had no confidence in Eli, a complete disagreement with his coach, and proceeded to throw both of them under the bus both internally and publicly...in essence, dividing a locker room.

6 years later, Tiki still disagrees with the coach who made him relevant and is only now expressing that he know's Eli is a winner. What makes a good teammate is one who has faith (believing without seeing) in his teammates and strives to make his teammates better. Public criticism and fostering dissention, intentionally or otherwise, doesn't sound all that great a means of doing so.

I think that Tiki has shown his true colors and I couldn't disagree more with the type of person he has shown himself to be. He could've broken the all time rushing TD mark and gained more yards than any other back ever...and I'd still not be a fan after how he's treated his teammates. Being a good player does not excuse you from being a dick.

Comparing Tiki to LT isn't exactly appropriate. LT's problems really affected only him. I don't recall LT trashing Simms or Bavaro or Parcells.

  9. 1. gronkowski

    2. hernandez

    3. turnovers

even with pressure brady is capable of hitting those te's, both scored in the earlier matchup.

the difference in that game of course +2 takeaways for ny.

it will be exciting, and i don't like seeing anyone sacked and rattled more than brady.

makes you feel a little more immortal yourself when you see a demigod is human like that. :D

anyway guys good luck. go nfc and kick brady's ass!

I pretty much agree. I know too that the Giants have been susceptable to the run at times this season and BJGE/DW were both running better towards the end of the season. I don't expect the Patriots to come out run, run, run...but if they establish a running game, it'll hurt significantly.

I think that we can beat the TEs by doubling the inside receivers with LB/S. We've had some success against TEs lately (Finley, Gonzalez). Though we got hurt by VDavis. Don't give me the 'we held him to just 3 catches and it was two defensive breakdowns garbage. He torched us for two big plays and it damn near lost us that game. I think we have the ability to stack up against Hernandez and Gronkowski, again, if they're chipped off the line and doubled. CWeb and ARoss should be able to take their WRs 1:1. Welker will be a tough draw for Webster, but so long as Webster disrupts his routes and throws off the timing...I think we can live with that.

I have no doubts we'll move the ball on offense...but we need to score TDs and not stand for FGs.

  10. What does it say about Barber when the guy who helped block you into the record books doesn't even want to sit next to you?

And the coach who taught you how to properly carry a football and as such, put you amongst the top backs in the league...a status you had not reached prior on your own despite what you might think...is now an enemy...

Tiki is a piece of shit and quite frankly, I'm a bit ashamed that I once rooted for him and that I once was a fan of him as a player.

  11. I definitely see them starting over with Luck. You can't miss out on a franchise QB who is supposed to be as sure of a thing as there has been in a long time. Not sure if Peyton is a tradeable asset to gain some picks for defense or not, I think the consensus is he will be cut to avoid paying the $28 million bonus due in March. But you are right, the defense needs a lot of work... and they probably got the right head coach to help with that. They still have some talented guys in the front seven, but they need to beef up their DT's and secondary badly.

They've already come out and said that they're drafting Luck, haven't they? I agree that they definitely should go that route. I also think that they should keep Peyton for 1 more year. Let Peyton and Luck overlap for a year....Luck learns from a future HOFer...Colts set up for the next decade. Peyton has a chance to prove to the rest of the league he's healthy and he becomes tradeable next year. You might have to amend Peyton's contract now to allow him some control over the eventual trade next offseason in order to get this done.

Any way you slice it, I think the consensus is that they should and will draft Luck. The only question is with Manning and HIS ability to play football.

The other thought I had was, given the coaching changes, offering Manning the OC position, assuming his neck doesn't allow him to play anymore. Given Manning's smarts, I think he could move into that role fairly easily. Still draft Luck and let Manning coach him. I doubt it'll happen, but it'd be really fun to follow if it did.

  12. The crazy thing about all of this is that there are so many similarities to the '07 run, yet I feel the Patriots are the ones that have to get the monkey off their back now. That's a very scary scenario when you're dealing with Brady and Belichick. The payoff is obviously huge though. A second championship really allows you the opportunity to distance yourselves from just about everybody else. Not to mention beating an already legendary combination again. Giants win, all Eli needs to do is sustain his current production for the next 3-5 years and he's going to Canton. Coughlin could eventually find his way into that discussion as well. It's an incredible thought when you consider where we were at this time in '07.

Coughlin may get there anyhow...I'd have to look at other coaches who've made it. I saw an article that reminded me that TC made it to two AFC championship games with the Jags as well as his tenure with us. Four conference championship games, 2 SB appearances, at least 1 SB win, a pretty solid playoff record overall AND on the road, and even a pretty decent regular season record.

Eli definitely needs the 2nd SB to get in. Beyond that though, a 2nd SB win for Eli puts him past his brother.
