  1. Think that had more to do with the backup getting reps in a game that was already decided.
  2. I've read the play-by-play and from what I saw, they only used 2 TOs. So yeah, unless the refs blew it somehow or the play-by-play is wrong, they had one TO remaining. I agree though, that had the ball been fumbled, it was a one play deal...would've needed a forced fumble, fumble recovery, and return for TD. It's extraordinarily unlikely, but so was our scoring 25 pts in the 4th quarter. You play down to the wire. Again, if diving at the legs, to reach through and disrupt the snap is the best way to cause the fumble in that situation, and it's not against league rules, than I have no problem with it because it's giving your team the best chance to win in the given situation. And I'll say again, our O-Line was clearly not ready for it when they should've been had they just looked across the line.
  3. Great...now he'll miss 3 in our next game...
  4. Good to know Prince is back, Hosely looks really good, and Webster will play. Hopefully Coe resting up for 2 weeks gets him ready for our next game. Antrel Rolle should've just dove right into the fucking camera. Those folks are WAY TOO close to the field.
  5. It was a bad call for the specific act it was called on, yes. That said, I have to believe that at that point in the game, WRs/CBs were getting pretty chippy and I really think that the personal foul call was more to reign in the after-the-play shenanigans than it was to penalize Prince.
  6. Not writing Bradshaw off, but Brown has no doubtedly cut into what Bradshaw's carries were going to be for the year
  7. Yeah, I'm not one to condone losing a starting position due to injury, but two performances in a row like this is pretty remarkable. At the very least, Bradshaw's carries are going to be reduced and we'll be lucky to see much of Wilson this year. With Wilson and Brown, yeah, I think our RB stable is set for a while. Of note too, is that Brown did it last week with the same line that Bradshaw had. So keep that in mind when someone tells you the line played a lot better this week and give that as the reason Brown ran better. Not debating that the line played better, they did, but that's not the whole reason Brown was the better RB. Brown showing patience on some runs and hitting the hole hard on others was what I found most impressive.
  8. Direct TV is reasonable now that NFL ticket is free...but the jump in rates from the probationary period to the next is pretty outrageous...and I'm not exactly sure that the jump in rates includes continuance of the free NFL ticket piece or whether the free NFL ticket is every bit as promotional as are the discounted prices. By the way, when looking, I noticed that Direct TV offers a AAA discount...for those here who have Direct TV, might be worth looking into
  9. I have to believe that this has more to do with the quick turnaround from the Bucs to the Panthers and the in-game aggravation of the foot in the Buccs game. Had his foot not been re-aggravated, I think he'd play. Had our next game been on Sunday rather than tonight, I think he'd have played. Either way, I see him coming back for our next game.
  10. Was just coming to post the Nicks news...well done PDoub
  11. Gonna be a bit of a rough game methinks...then again, so will they all be should our defense continue to suck.
  12. I don't believe it's necessarily bush league just because it's not widely accepted in the NFL. Had we been up by more than 1 score, then yes, I'd agree wholeheartedly.
  13. Watch, this will be the game Cam reminds the league that he can run...then again, with our secondary in the condition it's in, he may not run given he'll have time to find open receivers all day.
  14. Cam Newton will be the first QB ever to rush for 72 yards, have two TDs rushing on a Thursday night game.
  15. If submarining our linemen caused a disruption in the snap, followed by a fumble recovery for a TD...then yeah, that's what they were trying to do. Injuries are a risk on every play in the NFL...every play. Our lineman were not prepared for it and that's on us....not TB.
  16. I watched on youtube...looks like there's at least 3 seconds, maybe even 4, when Eli hits the ground. There was a bunch of players arguing and whatnot at that point....refs couldn't get the ball spotted...time ran out. Had TB called their final timeout as soon as Eli hit the ground, TB could've lined up to do it again.
  17. I think we throw a linebacker at Steve Smith and knock his head off early and often.
  18. Not a great strategy, no...but was their only strategy down by 7, 0:05 remaining, opponent holding the ball. Ask yourself this. If you're a team, down by 13. You score with 1:30 remaining...having used all your remaining timeouts to do so. You're now down by 6. Do you do an onsides kick and try to recover the ball or do you kick it deep, let the opponent run out the clock, and go home defeated? I'm guessing you run the onsides kick. That's essentially what Schiano did here. He ran a defensive play that had some chance, however minute, of giving his team the ability to win the game rather than admitting defeat before the final seconds came off the clock.
  19. Just double checked the play by play...it appears they did have the timeout left. Perhaps the kneel down and craziness that ensued immediately following the play took 5 seconds and they couldn't get the timeout called?
  20. From what I knew, they were out of timeouts...that wasn't the case?
  21. I don't put too much stock in what the talking heads say. I think Schiano, being a relatively new coach, wants his team to play at a certain level, to a certain intensity. I think he feels that if his team plays at a higher level, to a greater intensity, that it gives his team the better chance of winning. I can't disagree there. If there is ANY chance of winning, you take that chance. If the other team isn't ready for it...that's on them. I actually like that approach.
