  1. Maybe not the Cowboys game but I believe the run in the Saints game was a classic example of what he was doing for the most part all year.
  2. In general it does, not just to protect the ball. He would have had a higher percentage of converted first downs if he did get low. I thought he did tremendous considering his running style. Again, I'm not criticizing just the fumbles. I feel the "get low" strategy could work better for Jacobs. And I noticed he did do that later in the year, against the Raiders I remember. I just saw the Giants Saints highlight of Jacobs. It turns out not only is the ball vulnerable, he is vulnerable. It turns out the Saint was trying to strip the ball for at least half a yard and if he weren't as sure handed as we know, that would've been a fumble quicker. He could've ducked and he would've gotten in with less stress added on us.
  3. I'm not criticizing him and his hands, I know that he is sure-handed. I'm just saying that if he were to get low then that fumble wouldn't have happened and he would've had more success. And that could've been ruled either way against the Saints. Odds are he was over the line but if it was a yard or two farther away then that was a fumble. Did you see that ball just flying up there during his effort to get in? Obviously, he gets the benefit of the doubt because it was his second game and he is just a rookie and is human but that's all I'm saying. Get low.
  4. But taking an expansion team the the AFC championship game in just their second season and taking them to another one later shows that he can win some games. I recall that they won a post-season game like 63-14 against the Dolphins or something like that.
  5. That's what I've been saying but everyone was laughing at me for calling 10 picks overrated. Glad I got a Jets fan, a person who saw all of this to clarify that it is infact true, Ty Law isn't as good as his stats show. I hope we stay away from him.
  6. I see it closer then two years. Every team has one flawed position, but it's a shame our guys weren't even average this year. With some nice signings and good drafting, I can see us making a serious push next season.
  7. I can see the logic behind the Benson one but the Seo one was the one that really got me pissed. He was amazing down the stretch and Sanchez basically hasn't proved anything for the most part. I also like the lefty we gave up in that trade too... I think Tim Hamulack (?)
  8. The problem with Jacobs is he has to learn how to get low consistently when called upon for short yardage. That resulted in the almost fumble against the Saints and the fumble against the Cowboys and his later struggles in the year. He failed to get low, relied on his size too much. In other words, was a cocky rookie. That'll change.
  9. That's what I've been trying to say. It's still a tough 43 yard field goal on the road with a kicker who must have had three heart attacks leading up to his kick. I still have the image of TO stuck in my head while he was leading something like a band at the end of teh game. And I remember the next week on Jimmy's picks a fake Toomer was on and he was blaming cousin Frank for the loss for some reason, I forgot what.
  10. It was a lot bigger then taken for just like the Broncos game. I wouldn't go as far as saying it would've ruined his confidence but it was a real boost. What a game too. To think that it never could have happened if the Cowboys recovered the Marcellus Rivers fumble One of the nicest parts of that game is, it wasn't even our draft pick we were losing seven spots for.
  11. I'm turning into a big baseball guy so I can't say the same. However, there is always interest in football... except in mid to late February and July. I play football ocasionally with my friends no matter what the season. And in some of my classes I just feel like randomly doing what Peyton Manning does at the LOS out of sheer boredom I love my football man
  12. Well, the Seahawks may very well lose Alexander and the Jags will be interested in signing Edge this off-season. There will be some changes for these teams.
  13. Tell me about that one too. Was it a bomb or a short pass and was it like whn we were down and in the third? Sorry for all the questions but I need to know everything I missed.. even if it was two years ago. I remember there were many missed oppurtunities in the red zone also. Boy, I need a life
  14. I like it but I can't stand it. I don't know about you but I'm a season ticket holder so in mid March I'm thinking about hells bells being played during opening kickoff. And when the season comes, so does school. It's too fast anyway, the season that is. Give you an example. Two nights ago I had a dream it was Thursday Night opener and we were playing the Colts. We walk up to the ticket guy and my Dad takes out his wallet and there's a hole in it and no tickets More of a nightmare if you ask me.
  15. We were done right after we lost to Pittsburgh. If we did win the next three games, we were in the playoffs btw. It's not as if we were going to do anything, just some playoff experience for Eil.
  16. And Bryant was just shot. We should have just spiked the ball on the ground after the messed up snap. I guarantee a veteran like Feagles would have done that.
  17. Hmm... that's an interesting pattern. Now I really do want to see it
  18. 4th and 10 right? I remember watching the game on NFL.com and being real pissed off when that happened. I remember becoming even more pissed off after Eli threw the INT (which I found out later was tipped) and the bill was sent to my room on the amount of money charged for using the internet. But of course, everything happens for a reason. Without that, the next game wouldn't have been nearly as dramatic for Eli's first win.
  19. I'd rather Whitherspoon, who is on the rise and is asking for less then Peterson who has come off an injury and has clearly lost a step and is asking for a lot of money. I would also love Moss in the second round. I think it'd be an awesome draft if we managed to get Cromartie in the first round after a very nice combine and managed to land Moss in the second. Then we'll see what we get from there.
  20. Steelers game was a great performance, was actually one of my choices but when it was deleted I felt there was no need to write that again. Didn't see the Bengals game though, heard it was a pretty decent game by Eli, nothing special some nice passes here and there. I agree, it has for the most part been a steady uprising. We just need something else to talk about and I thought this would be an interesting topic.
  21. Nice points, welcome to the boards. Can't wait for next season either. As soon as the game on January 8th ended, I was filled with excitement for some reason for 06. It should make for a controversial, fun off-season which will hopefully give way to a contender that can go all the way.
  22. I thought so too. And for you Currency, it's Tam Hopkins, not Tom
  23. We'll have to make a move or two at the deadline in order to make a real serious push.
