I will give Loretta the fielding credibility, but I think you are over stating his hitting. Loretta is not a power hitter by any means. While he seems suited to the two hole (.311-1-22) it is not fantastic numbers. This team relies on pitching and defense now, as said by the Boy Wonder, Theo Epstein. The Sox do what they have to in those departments, and get just enough offense to put them ahead. Sure, some nights the bats will explode, but usually that is the case. As for Loretta, he is doing his job both ways.
