  1. I'd be happy if it went like this. I really like Colledge in the 2nd round, would be an excellent pick if available.
  2. I'm all for taking the BPA on the board, and if Chad Jackson or Santorio Holmes is available I think they should strongly be considered. That being said where does a WR fit on the roster? Right now we have: Plaxico Burress Amani Toomer Tim Carter Jamaar Taylor David Tyree Willie Ponder I don't think we can realistically carry 7 WR's on the roster, and those guys all seem to be locked in for this year, Carter just got re-signed, Taylor is still young and we don't know what we have with him, Tyree and Ponder are musts for special teams. (Fab 4 please don't bother responding with the "cut Burress he whines and is in Miami posts" we know how you feel already thanks) So who goes if we draft a WR?
  3. 54 catches is a solid year, but not a huge impact.
  4. I guess Anquan Boldin should be on the list as well, didn't think of him because he wasn't a big time prospect.
  5. This is why you should be on the board on a consistent basis.
  6. How many rookie wide receivers can you name that had an immediate impact? Randy Moss and Micheal Clayton....... and?
  7. I thought they started the appeal like a month ago. I would take that as sign that he will be smoking something other than defenses next year
  8. Isn't Ricky suspended for the entire year?
  9. good catch. offensive line must be able to use the 50's as well, but not many do
  10. It was a rule passed in the 60's/70's to help officials know who was who. QB/K/P get 1-19 WR/TE 10-19 and 80-89 RB/DB 20-49 LB 50-59 90-99 Lineman 60-79. Thats just off the top of my head. the only exception I can think of is Olin Kruetz the center for the Bears is 57.
  11. I can't see that enough times
  12. Depends on the price. A lot of mocks have those guys pretty high, I'm not sure its reachable
  13. I don't think LB's can have a number in that range. They need to stay between 50-59 and 90-99 I thought.
  14. Yeah I think we agree more than we disagree. You just want to see the best defensive player available taken, and I'm not worried about what position it is as long as it is a good player.
  15. I don't like drafting by need. Look at RB like the Chiefs drafting Larry Johnson, sure he didn't do anything for them the first few years but now the Chiefs are reaping the rewards of taking the best player available a few years back. Everything being equal I'd rather draft a defensive player, but if an offensive player like Chad Jackson or Deangello Williams is available its much better taking a very good offensive prospect than a good defensive prospect. Besides if we are counting on a rookie defensive player (especially LB) to get us over the top and into the superbowl we are in trouble. Its rare to see any rookie make that kind of difference on a team. So take the best player available for the furture regardless of position and fill the rest of the needs with proven free agents.
  16. Yes... What does that have to do with my post? I said I think most of our major needs have been addressed (assuming Lavar signs) to the point where we dont need to worry about drafting on the basis of need which is a poor idea.
