  1. I'd be more nervous about Chuck Woodson
  2. I'm with you on the wagon, when we drafted him we were all aware that he was a project because he was coming off a major knee injury so he wouldn't produce for a least a year, so I wipe his rookie year and most of last year off the books because of that. Now if he gets injured again I'll be a little skeptical
  3. Danny Manning played for Kansas. He beat Wake Forrests Dickie Hemric (played in the 50's or 60's). Also Duke has a lot more good players than you think, the Duke myth is overrated. Shane Battier, Boozer, Brand, Deng, Duhon, Dunleavy, and Maggette are all good players. Grant Hill could have been an all time great without the worst ankles in recorded history. Compare that list to UCONN Ray Allen, Caron Butler, Ben Gordon, Rip Hamiton, Donyell Marshal, Okafor, Vilanueva. pretty comparable. BTW: I'm taking Morrison, he's bigger and more athletic. Redick's best case scenario is finding a team that uses him for what he is (a jump shooter that needs a lot of help to get open) similar to Rip Hamilton (but not that good).
  4. me too. My aggies are listed as 7th team out on espn.com.... can't afford a second team from the A-10 in to get an at large.
  5. come on bro reading is fundamental
  6. No, extending the deal helps the redskins be able to move money to other years that they wouldn't be able to do without it. It really saves the Redskins from having to cut a shit load of guys, they are still in shitt position but it helps. Also there was no chance the league would operate in a no cap situation, so there is and was no threat of the Redskins outspending everyone for every free agent like the Yankees
  7. nothing really. no uncapped year in 07, no strike in 08. Free agency could be pushed back until March 10th to give everyone time to review the new agreement
  8. a new CBA helps the Redskins, haven't you read any of the 20 posts directed at you on this subject?
  9. Every conference but the Ivy leauge has a tourney to determine the automatic bid from their conference. I don't think its going to matter for GW, they are pretty much locked into their seed around the 4 or 5 spot
  10. The Jets moving up wouldn't make much sense, they need a lot of people, with the way the team collapsed and the relative age of the team, probably should blow it up. The Raiders need any able body person that can play defense, so unless they are moving up for a QB it doesn't make sense there either. Saints moving down does with Payton really loving Cutler who will be available down the road.
  11. Texans talking about trading top draft pickAssociated Press INDIANAPOLIS -- Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush might not land with the Houston Texans after all. Texans general manager Charley Casserly said Sunday the Texans have been talking to teams about possibly trading the first pick in the 2006 draft. It has been widely speculated that the Heisman Trophy winning running back out of Southern California would end up with the Texans because they recently gave quarterback David Carr a three-year contract extension. The Texans, who finished 2-14 last season, have multiple needs that might be filled with one major move. "There's clearly players at the top of this draft that are marquee players," Casserly said. "Players that are impact players, players that are going to go to the Pro Bowl, players that are going to sell tickets. We're going to get offers for this pick. We've already had discussions with teams. I think there's value in our pick. "Whether it's Reggie Bush, Vince Young or Matt Leinart, those three players are going to produce trade offers. We are definitely going to have some choices when it comes to draft day." -------------------------------------------------- Might just be posturing trying to drive up the price. Maybe they'll take our 1st rounder and Tim Carter for it?
  12. Parris Warren was a undersized and slow WR out of Utah that left for the draft because he was afraid his stock would drop without the benefit from the Urban Meyer offense. He is practice squad type guy
  13. I agree, if we aren't getting a top WR for this class (Jackson, Holmes, Moss in no order) we should look to gamble on a 2nd day guy, I don't really see a lot of seperation between guys like Nance and Green, both seem to be developmental prospects.
  14. Breaking news: Frank_Grimes reports the Giants will try and improve the team this offseason
  15. I'm not sure he will be around for our pick in the 1st round with this news, he could elevate to top 20 with the lack of WR's availalbe for this draft
  16. I disagree with a WR making immediate dividends. Besides Randy Moss the list of rookie WR's who had good years is very very small. Combine that with him only going to get maybe 3 or 4 looks a game he wont be making an immediate impact. Look at last years rookie WR's #3 overall Braylon Edwards 32 receptions for 512 yards in 10 games (7 starts, did get a knee injury) #7 overall Troy Williamson 24 for 372 in 14 games (3 starts) #10 overall Mike Williams 29 for 350 in 14 games (4 starts) #21 overall Matt Jones 36 for 432 in 16 games (1 start) #22 overall Mark Clayton 44 for 471 14 games (10 starts) #27 overall Roddy White 29 for 446 16 games (8 starts) Not a real stellar group. Edwards would have had much better stats had he not blown out his knee, and Matt Jones was learning the position but finding someone that can give you 30 catches in free agency or later in the draft is not difficult. So while finding a replacement for Toomer is a priority I don't think drafting a WR over someone on the defensive side of the ball (all things being equal) is necessarly the right thing to do. In contrast to the WR's look at the immediate impact that was brought on by rookie LB's Demarcus Ware, Shawn Merriman, and Lofa Tatupu (albeit he was a 2nd rounder). Even Derrick Johnson who had a very quiet year had 79 tackles as a rookie.
  17. Yeah its just the standard basic cable for my apartment and I don't pay for it so I guess I shouldn't complain.
  18. Good news is that he has no bonus so all the salary goes right to cap savings right?
  19. Good work guys, keep doing updates for those of us w/o NFL network. (F'n Comcast, they better get it by next year when they start showing games on it)
  20. I completely disagree. The Seahawks didn't have 3 healthy WR's all year with Daryl Jackson's knee injury. It was Bobby Engram, Joe Jurevicius and D.J. Hackett. We can find a WR of a D.J. Hackett's ability on the 2nd day if necessary. The reason Shaun Alexander won MVP is because he ran behind the best run blocking team (IMO), and was given many red zone carries to increase TD's (which Tiki doesn't get). Even with all of that Tiki's numbers weren't far off. Alexander had 370 carries for 1880 yards (5.1 a carry) and of course a record 27 rushing TD's (1 receiving for 28 total) meanwhile Tiki ran for 1860 yards on 357 carries (5.2 a carry) and 9 rushing TD's (2 receiving 11 total). This doesn't even take into account that the Seahawks played a very easy schedule (Rams, Cards, and 49'ers all twice and several other downy soft d's). So with a great blocking line and Alexander being the great downhill runner he is, it was easy for him to get into the secondary a lot and break off 20-30 yard gains. Very similar to Ron Dayne in college. I agree that a 3rd WR could really increase the firepower of the offense, but I'd rather see that 1st rounder go into someone who could compete to start on defense and help out on the other side of the ball all other things being equal, and maybe look to a WR later in the 1st day, or just get a stop gap veteran for a year or two until the team is a little more well-rounded.
  21. I think you're misreading Money. He's saying Jackson will be a 5th option (behind Plex, Shockey, Tiki, Toomer in no order). He would almost be assured the 3rd WR spot.
