  1. I'm not sure what we're talking about. These are Hunter's tackle stats since 2019; combined, solo, assisted, TFL, QB hits (he missed the 2020 season). Those are good numbers. Here are Burns' numbers. I'd say they're comparable.
  2. Well not for nothing, but Joe Schoen is cheating. Brian Burns - 30 mil this season. Devin Singltary - 6.5 mil this season. Jon Runyan - 6.5 mil this season Jermaine Eluemenor - 7.5 mil this season In addition to the three little signings we've made, that puts us over 50 million. Dude's cheating to try and make me look bad. Unfortunately, he's the one who will end up looking bad in two years!
  3. Oh they're talking about per season? I figured since they were combining the sack totals they were doing the same for tackles.
  4. *Sigh* We're drafting McCarthy at six, aren't we?
  5. And Danielle Hunter. He's actually been one of the best in both of those categories.
  6. Again, just going by what I heard this morning he's a "top third of the league" kind of guy in pass rush win rate and sacks. We're giving him top-2 money and gave up two picks, one of which I'd argue is a premium pick in a draft like this. I hope you're all right and I'm wrong but this is the exact type of signing that we usually end up regretting.
  7. In 12 seasons. Not something to hang your hat on. Maybe calling him "average" was a bit too harsh, but he's merely "good" while being paid "great." Aside from his rookie deal he hasn't been worth his contract anywhere he's been. I've heard it said that he's "just good enough to lose" and I'd say that's accurate. He's certainly a competent player but far from a special one.
  8. Didn't have time to do my own research but listened to the Talkin' Giants guys on this heading into work today. I knew Burns was a good player but their take on him was that he's a good player making top-2 EDGE money. Only had double-digit sacks in one year, falls in the 30s in the league for pass rush win rate and sacks most years according to advanced statistics. Sounds like an Olivier Vernon situation. We'll see how things shake out but I would have preferred Danielle Hunter for this type of money. Also, I'm not sure what we're supposed to do about QB and other positions of need now. That extra second could have gotten us a trade up in the 1st, or nabbed us one of the second tier QBs should they fall (Penix, Nix, etc). This draft class is also stocked at G, RT, and WR, all positions of need; in most mocks very good players are still available there. Now we're unlikely to have a shot at any of those guys, and all for a guy who's averaging less than 10 sacks per season. Not a fan of this. I think it reeks of desperation by Shoen and is a very shortsighted plan/outlook, plus we grossly overpaid. This is the type of stuff that got Gettleman fired. Hope the plan isn't to reach for McCarthy.
  9. He puts up numbers but name one thing he's won.
  10. This is what I'd really like, but I don't think any of the top 3 teams will trade down and they're most assuredly all drafting QBs.
  11. The best thing about Brian Burns is how his name is a complete sentence.
  12. This wasn't the Raiders O- lineman I said! JOE SCHOEN YOU'RE NOT LISTENING CLOSELY ENOUGH!
  13. Richest average quarterback in league history.
  14. Holy shit really? That's almost double what Spottrac put his annual value at lol.
  15. Schoen should have listened to me.
  16. What kind of dog shit advice has Barkley been given his entire career? Dude could have gone anywhere and come back as a Giants media personality for the rest of his life, now he's got NO CHANCE of that ever happening. Hope he enjoys being Penn State's radio color commentator.
  17. This is a really pivotal year for Schoen I feel. If you look at his drafts and free agent signings there are way more misses than hits.
  18. Yeah I saw. Good for the Bucs.
  19. Yeah unless they get Faker Mayfield.
  20. It's true. Not every team is the Gentleman/Reese era Giants where the whole league and entire press knew their draft board.
  21. Seeing a lot of "Drake Maye is falling." I know it's smokescreen/silly season but God is hope it's true.
  22. I don't love Adoree either but what else are we going to do for that price at that position? Dude made so many business decisions during the second half of the season... but for 9 mil you're probably either looking at washed-up Stephon Gilmore or rolling with an unproven high draft pick otherwise. Josh Dobbs is estimated at 2 mil per season. Dude made 1.5 this year and I feel like he's still under valued.
  23. Man, if only somebody had come up with a way keep him, we'd be in much better shape.
