  1. Yeah I don't get it... must be groupthink. He was an average QB, no real special talent, lots of high and off-target passes, and in the biggest moments of the biggest games his coach didn't want to put the ball in his hands. Like, what am I missing here? "He studies film?" Davis Webb studied film too and had a better arm. Dude's an ok-to-good QB, you take those guys in the 2nd round.
  2. I'd love if we traded back with Minnesota, got #11 and #23 and took BPA at each pick.
  3. I was really more comparing the Giants reaching for an average college QB with the sixth pick based on potential.
  4. You know what... Joe Schoen is apparently pulling money out of thin air, I'm also signing Danielle Hunter for his two year, 48 million deal.
  5. I was honestly hoping we'd bring back Gates since he plays 4 positions on the line and graded out pretty well last year. It does sound like this guy improved this past year though. 41st out of 41 though... oof.
  6. My view on him lines up almost exactly with NFL.com's analysis of him. In a nutshell, he looks like he could be a competent starter and nothing more, with developmental potential. That's not a top-10 pick, that's a guy you take a shot on in the second or third round. When I look at him, I say, "he's fine." You need top-10 picks to be more than fine, they need to be playmakers.
  7. Kamren Curl got two years, 13 million from the Rams. WAY under what I thought he could get. If I knew that was the deal he'd sign I'd have put him on my list. That's a steal.
  8. I swear to Christ this had better be a smokescreen.
  9. For reference, here is a video of Darren Waller blocking Micah Parsons.
  10. This is the type of under the radar signing that can really help the team. No more watching Darren Waller trying to block.
  11. I don't know who this guy is.
  12. A lot if we hadn't given 30 mil to an 8 sack/ year EDGE. I know there's not a lot of good QBs this offseason in FA but Drew Lock is awful... this CAN'T be the plan.
  13. And their plan was DREW FUCKING LOCK? This can't actually be the plan...
  14. I think this is a fair assessment. Okereke was a good add for sure. The other guys though, while it's good we resigned them... weren't Schoen's guys. He's yet to add a real impact player through his drafts. Again, small sample size, but that's bad.
  15. We've got two years of Schoen and he's arguably made more bad moves than good. All of his linemen have been very bad (except extending Thomas). Glowinski, Evans, JMS, Isuzu, McKethan... all bad so far, and this was the ONE THING we needed fixed. Horrible talent evaluation on his part. We have to hope some of them turn it around and you all know what I think about hope. His mid-level FA signings last year have likewise been very bad (Parris Campbell, Jameson Crowder, Nunez-Roches, etc). His trades have not been good (Darren Waller, Brian Burns remains to be seen... I'd argue he overpaid). Some mid-season things have gone well (Fabian Moreau, Nick McCloud, Isiah Hodgins) and he's also pulled off some good things (Leonard Williams trade). At this point though, can we convincingly say the roster is better than it was at the start of 2021? I cannot say that; in fact, I think that roster was probably slightly better. That is a REALLY bad sign. Schoen is obviously going to get this year and probably another, but this is far from a great start.
  16. Dan Duggan explains it here. In a nutshell, Joe Schoen guaranteed Jones 23 million in 2025 should he be injured and unable to pass a physical. This is a guy that had a potentially career-ending neck injury, had one of four seasons where he didn't miss time with a significant injury, and is playing behind one of the worst lines the league has ever seen. This was a HORRIBLE contract move. I'm not quite there yet, but Joe Schoen is really losing me. Not sure he's the guy.
  17. [Meirov] The Dallas Cowboys are now the only NFL team that has yet to sign a single player from another team in free agency. byu/PlayaSlayaX innfl
  18. I was thinking the same thing. Reminds me of when we had the data manipulation unit for College Comp II. "There is only a 8 in 2300 chance of you getting permanently ill from this product!" "So like... a little under one in 300? That actually sounds pretty risky."
  19. Aside from being incredibly talented, he understands the nuances of the game better than any college WR I've ever seen. Head fakes, stutter steps, changing how he lines up... the reason why he's often 20 yards away from the nearest defender is because he's faked them out of their shoes. He'll be an amazing pro.
