  1. Definitely. I can also remember him taking a less-than-direct route to the endzone to prove something to Julian Peterson in that game... turns out he proved that he can't run over Peterson, and we settled for a FG. My point is this: If I were GM, I'd like to put together a team with a work ethic along the lines of a New England Patriots. Find me the Jeremy Shockey on the New England Patriots. He'll do some tremendously great things, and some monumentally stupid ones. I'd rather have a blue-collar guy who's consistenly rates a 6 or 7 then a guy who's a 10 on two plays, a 2 on the next, and a 2 throughout the week when he says something dumb. He's just not the kind of guy that I'd want on my team... but like I said, I know I'm in the minority.
  2. I'll tell you my problems with Shockey: 1. Yeah, he plays with heart and wants to win, and he shows up for a big play or two a lot of times... and he shows up for a big drop or two just as many times. Yeah, I remember him catching a 20-yarder vs. Denver last year to get us to the two yard line. I remember him absolutely plowing over the Colts safety a few years back. I also remember him dropping what would have been the game-sealing TD vs. the 49ers in the playoffs, dropping a TD from Collins the next year vs. the Falcolns (and visibly laughing about it), and dropping that fourth down pass two games ago. No consistency. 2. THEN he has the audacity to get on Eli's ass when he doesn't see him or overthrows him (which is often, I'll admit). If he has something to say, that's fine... I have plenty to say about Eli too. But say it on the sidelines... don't wave your hands and act like you're three years old on the field. 3. He's injury prone. Name the year Shockey went from camp to January without getting hurt. Sure, he'll play through pain, but he's ALWAYS playing through pain. I don't know if the guy has a lot left for his career, with two bum ankles, bum knees, etc. which is why I say get something for him while you can. 4. He gives the opposing team "bulletin board" material for at least three games per year. If you want your opponent fired up, stick a microphone in front of Shockey. So those are my problems. If you're a "glass is half full" kind of guy, I'm sure you love him and think he's great. I think he epitomizes what's wrong with this team... no consistency, all talk, hurt a lot. So pick your poison.
  3. The only way I see them keeping Coughlin is if they want to keep some stability with a new GM coming in. If I were them, I'd clean house... new coach, new GM, new QB... and trade either Shockey or Plax (or both) to move up in the draft/aquire picks (I know I'm in the minority on this last one, but IMHO, attitude is as important as athletic ability... no reason we can't have both).
  4. Hmm... thanks for reminding me. Don't know what I was thinking. I knew there was a reason I hate that fat fuck. Yeah, on second thought... no Parcells. Although it would be funny if we told him he had the job, then he quit the Cowboys... then we hired someone else.
  5. Why? He signed Curtis Martin with the Jets. Who else did he go and get? He traded awau Hugh Douglass to draft... Dorian Boose? That sure was a bad move. Though I gotta admit, he went out and got John Abraham, Chad Pennington, and Shaun Ellis in the same draft (even if he did flop with Anthony Becht). Not sure how I'd feel about this (even though it's probably just a rumor).
  6. I was just thinking that he might end up staying. New GM, new coach... it's a lot of upheaval. They might want to keep the coach for one more year (give him a two year deal) while the new GM gets his feet under him.
  7. Tuck is big enough to play the run and the pass, but he's hurt 90% of the time.
  8. I heard on Sirius radio on the way home that he has respect for both the Maras and the Krafts, and that he's going to remain in his current position. Fuck.
  9. If we keep this clown, we are seriously on crack.
  10. Yep... and while we're at it, goodbye Carlos Emmons, TC, and Ernie Accorsi... way to give up the bank for an average-to-below average QB. Next year it's run BJ, play defense, and ball control.
  11. TC and co. will be gone! We'll have a new GM who will draft/sign a good QB! EA is history! No more trading Phillip Rivers and three picks for Kerry Collins light! Brandon Jacobs will rule! Carlos Emmons will be gone! There is lots to look foward to... if we play our cards right. GO GIANTS!!!
  12. What the fuck is up with the shit-eating grin on Tiki's face. That guy can't wait for this season to be over.
  13. Why do these assholes have to break our hearts? Couldn't we have just not scored that last TD?
  14. LOL. Well... wish I could say it's been a fun season, but it's pretty much sucked.
  15. Yep. The Giants pull yet another chapter from thier dog-shit season for the coup-de-grace. Defense folds when we finally gain momentum. God, I hate these assholes.
  16. Hmm... it looks like both McQuarters and Moss have taken return lessons from Chad Morton.
  17. It wasn't a dumb move by Mc Quarters. After the Eagles touch it, he can do whatever he wants. He could pick up the ball and run it for 15 yards and not have to worry about anything. I'm pretty sure he could even fumble it, and it'd be ours.
  18. Please don't get a fucking safety. And please, Eli, don't throw a fucking pick.
  19. This is a bad call of a rule. If it touches an Eagle first, the Giants can do whatever they want.
  20. Whew. Way for the D to keep us in the game. Chase Blackburn is a beast.
