  1. JR YOU STOOPID IMGRATE SIGN WILLIE PONDER NOW!!!
  2. I think this Joseph kid can really be something special. We haven't had a big body like that in the middle since Norman Hand.
  3. Jim bumping the thread this week was fun. So why not? 1. Hakeem Nicks is a borderline Pro Bowler this season, who builds a rep for being one of the most physical, tough receivers in the NFC. I don't expect a lot of bombs thrown Nicks' way, but I can easily see him catching a slant, running over a corner and stiff-arming a safety on the way to the end zone. He's not very fast... look at tape of him from last year, he's just NOT... but he's very strong with good hands. By season's end, he'll be a household name. 2. The Giants D returns to form, but not because of better defensive backfield play. The front four are going to be a nightmare for opposing QBs. Justin Tuck returns to double-digit sacks, and Osi/Kiwi combine for about 18 between the two of them. JPP gets a handful on rushes from the LB position, and Chris Canty also returns to form... which is to say... he's average. Alford is still a year away from being a force, but Joseph is a day-one starter and absolute beast in the middle. 3. Ahmad Bradshaw becomes a legit force, proving all of his "too small" critics wrong. He takes the job from Jacobs in the preseason and never looks back. He finishes the season with over 1,000 yards and chips in another 400 receiving yards. 4. Kenny Phillips is on injured reserve by week 5 after having his knee drained each week after his final three games.. Sorry, folks... his career is over. 5. The Giants return to the playoffs this season, and win their first postseason game. No Championship, no Superbowl, but a very satisfying season out of our Gmen this year. P.S. - Sinorice Moss finishes with 3000 yards and 55 TDs, improving on last year's numbers. The stadium is renamed "Sinorice Moss Stadium" and the nosebleed seats are removed to honor Moss' vertical challenged-ness.
  4. Passing - Eli Manning - 3900 yards, 26 TDs, 16 INTs. I think Eli's numbers stay more or less the same, but the defense isn't as bad as last year and therefore we're running a bit more in the 4th quarter instead of chucking the ball all over the place. Barden will become a legit red-zone threat in the second half of the year, and Eli will benefit greatly from the return of the "Plax fade." Rushing - Ahmad Bradshaw - 1100 yards, 12 TDs. Bradshaw is fast, strong, and tough. He can break a big gain or get you three on third-and-one... plus he's a VERY good receiver out of the backfield. Add in the fact that he's in a contract year and I think AB wrestles the job away from Jacobs... who will still get his touches, but I think we're looking at a 60/30 split in Bradshaw's favor this season. Jacobs doesn't have the same fire now that he's getting paid. Receiving - Steve Smith - 1125 yards, 10 TDs. Smith and Eli are in their fourth season together now, and Eli knows and trusts him better than any other receiver on the team. Not the biggest, not the strongest, but undoubtedly has the best feel of any Giants receiver... isn't afraid to fight for the ball in traffic and has VERY good hands. Nicks is also primed to have a big season and will be a truck, but Smith beats him out for targets, yards, catches, and TDs.
  5. OMG!!!!! MAXIMUM PWNAG3 ROXXORS!!!!! D3DSKINZ SUXXORS!
  6. I'd say I got #'s one and three right. Four is debatable... I'm not sure Gilbride cost us any games (the defense made sure he didn't have to), but we DID finish in the top ten in total offense. And even though Bernard was a bust he did double Canty's sack total... with ONE to Canty's half-sack. I'm giving myself a solid C+, B-. It looks like I was one year early on the Sinorice Moss prediction.
  7. That guy took any good will he had amongst casual fans and completely destroyed it these past three years. Fuck Brett Favre.
  8. Agreed.... but I hardly think it's because we were missing Plax. Our offense would put up 40 points a game last year only to see the defense give up 45.
  9. Sinorice Moss has just never been given a chance. If he was our #1, he would lead the league with 1800+ yards and 20 TDs every season. I'll bet you a dollar.
  10. If he stays healthy, he's primed for a monster season. I loves me a Smith/Nicks/Manningham receiving corps. Even better if we can get Barden contribuing.
  11. Exactly. All Steve Smith did was beat Plax's career bests in catches, yards, 1st downs, TDs... and NOT shoot himself in the leg. No thanks.
  12. They should start giving Seubert reps at Center. He can't be worse than Koets.
  13. Diehl: everyone into conditioning after hearing all week about Haynesworth (lol) The players have a bad taste in their mouths after not making the postseason, and it starts in camp. He doesn't expect to be handed the starting LT job, he has to earn it. They're trying to shake things up and move things around. Deihl has showed up in the best shape he's been in so far in his career. His versatility got him drafted, but he's been a LT the past three years. He'll play wherever they put him, but he feels he's the best LT on the team. He's focusing on being the starting LT. On Sheridan vs. Fewell - Fewell is shaking up the defense, and he's a "fresh start." He's creating competition, on the D-line, LBs... there is no job security. The players are excited about the new system. On Jacobs/Bradshaw - they both had surgeries. The fact they played through injuries is a sign of their toughness. They may be taking heat, but Diehl is excited about how they look in camp. They both have the mentality of "they're gonna prove people wrong." On Brett Favre - Diehl is kind of surprised at the news he might retire; thought he'd come in during the final few preseason games. It's good for the Giants since they play the Vikings. The Vikes go from a guy who can do a lot to maybe having some holes in their game plan, and they may suffer from a lack of leadership by losing a 19-yr veteran. On the division - (vs. Dallas) on paper, they look like the world champion. On paper doesn't mean anything. They beat 'em twice last year... and nobody is talking about the Giants, even in NY. They prefer it that way... they wanna fly under the radar.
  14. Agreed. He's a lunchpail-type that will probably never get all the fanfare, but will boost our run-D by a good 30-50 yards per game.
  15. Ahh, sorry blu... rough nite, my bad... my sarcasm radar ain't what it should be. I have no problem with Italian Hotdog, and I tend to agree with you there. But I just can't stand people who can't man up when they're on the losing side of a bet...
  16. That's a really fair point. I'm not sure Gilbride is as bad as everybody makes him out to be. Yes, he does some inexplicably stupid things sometimes (three straight passes into a 30 MPH headwind when your RB has just ripped off 28 and 17 yard runs) but overall it could be a lot worse.
  17. ...because, you know... NOBODY else posts on these forums asking questions about computers or bitching about software upgrades. And regardless, I'd much rather be the guy coming on here for tech support than be the guy who gives losers like Bad Egg a reason to come to the forums.
  18. At 2.5 mil he's at the very least a good insurance policy.
  19. The only reason that douche still comes here is because board members are dumb enough to take the bait every time. I've had that asshole on "ignore" ever since he lost his bet about Giants/Pats and couldn't man up and leave forever... if everyone did the same, he'd have no reason to come here. I don't understand why some people don't get that...
  20. Exactly. Those were the dominant teams of the 80's. The Niners were the best of the bunch but any of those teams were killer.
  21. Fuck Neil Lomax. If there was ever one guy in the world who needed a Thneed, it was THAT guy.
