  1. I agree with the article.

The article is simply grading the offseason and the Giants lost a more valuable player than any other team, they lost a few other key guys, added little in FA, and did not add any big name players in the draft.

Lost - Tiki, Feely, Pettigout, Emmons, Arrington, Morton, Whitfield and Tim Carter

    Add - K. Mithchell, Droughns, A. Wright, M. Bell, M. Stone

It is pretty easy to see why most people think the Giants have regressed talent wise since last season. Unfortunately, I think not having Tiki Barber is going to be a tremendous loss for this team. Hopefully, Jacobs and Droughns will be ok but Tiki was special and will not be easily replaced.

Potentially, the team can still perform just as good or better in 2007 if a few key guys really step up their game. Most important of course being Eli. But as I mentioned the article is just looking at the off-season not necessarily making predictions for 2007.

Seriously bro, Brandon Jacobs is going to be a top 5 back this season. He will make everyone around him better. Tiki would get 2 yards, 1 yard, 3 yards, 40 yards. Though that makes for some great stats for Tiki, it didnt do a whole lot for offensive consistancy. It didnt do a whole lot to help Eli out either. Brandon is going to bring back that grinding 5 yards a carry offense. Plus he is FASTER than Tiki, so he will also get many of those 40 yard runs. Giving Droughns 7 to 10 carries a game will keep Brandon fresh. The fact that Tiki has taken Brandon under his wing, and brought him to his off season trainer, is only going to make Jacobs that much better. There are very few who seem to know what we have in this kid, and Im PUMPED that he is finnaly going to get his shot. I dont think we will miss Tiki at all.

  2. vs. The New York Giants

Is there any reason to believe that this will not be the battle for the NFC East basement this year?

I expect a spirited bout and predict that the team with the fewest injuries will take third place. If Eli reaches his full potential there is no reason why the G-Men can't pull this one out... :LMAO:

LOL, Brandon Jacobs is going to DESTROY Dallas this season. You know it, everyone knows it. Remember who told ya.

  3. Every year same o shit! Every year "let's sign everybody that gets cut". Umm excuse me??? don't we have enough recievers on the Giants? Plus "Me- Shawn" is washed up. And even when MeShawn was in his prime....he wasn't alladat.

We haven't learned. Carlos Emmons, Arrington, Chad Morton, Madison, McQuarters....

    :)

Bro, I dont know how you could have a problem with Mcquarters. Dude played very good at nickle. And stepped up against some big name WR's. He isnt great, but he did a good job last year, and plays with alot of heart.

  4. They did not just draft a LT they picked up what many think is going to be an all-pro LT. It would have been very difficult to pass him up.

Depending on who is involved on our end for the trade I think it is a good move. Bring in a LT with a couple of years experience to a line that has played very well for the past three seasons even with many injuries.

Plus our O line coaches do a damn good job making somthing outta nothing. I know thats optimistic, but I think we will be ok at the line.

  5. In order that year, I wanted Gallery, then Big Ben.

Ben has more size, mobility, arm strength, and accuracy than Eli (not that either one is terribly accurate).

My main problem with Eli is his accuracy. He misses receivers left and right (his completion % hovers around 50%) and even when he hits them, it's hardly ever in the numbers. How many times have Plax, Shock and co. had to stretch out, jump up, or make a shoestring catch to haul in an Eli pass? I can honestly say I can't remember the last time I saw Eli hit a guy in stride for a big play. Yeah, he's showed up for big comebacks (Dallas, Denver, Eagles) but he's cost us some pretty big games too with dumb mistakes late (Tennessee, Jacksonville). I don't put all the losses on Eli, and bad coaching has no doubt stunted his growth, but bad coaching doesn't have you miss an open receiver by ten yards, or throw a ball up for grabs on second down with a minute left in a game that's tied in the fourth.

The trade makes me even more angry, but Eli has not come as advertised (smarts, big arm, good mechanics).

I kinda agree. But there has also been many times were WR's would get hit in the numbers just to drop it.

  6. Reminds of that commercial where the the kid puts both arms in the air and says "Tuddown" everytime the raiders (I think the raiders) socred a touchdown.

LOL, yea, he does that to during the games. The only problem is he says it no matter who scores. We all just look at him when the other team scores.

  7. Im going to go out on a limb here and call Jacobs a very possible top 5 rb. He cant be stopped when they know what we are going to do. An the couple times he got a shot on first or second down, well, he just been amazing.

  8. I hardly think bringing McGahee in is sticking Jacobs in the backseat again. The topic below on the possibility of a trade for McGahee there is a comment from Reese about how they see Jacobs getting the majority of the carries but they want a change-of-pace back. As far as I can tell Reese and Co. want Jacobs to be the starter and want him to keep developing into a complete NFL back but until they have seen he has the ability to do so on the field on a consistent basis they are not going to pin the offenses success on an already inconsistent QB AND an unknown RB. Give Jacobs some competition in training camp and someone on the team who can come in to keep Jacobs fresh throughout the game. Keep in mind Jacobs has never been the sole-starting RB in any of his colleges. He has always been part of a combo. And since RB combos are the rage now in the NFL, the Giants want to jump on board. The two Super Bowl teams were RB tandem teams keep in mind.

As far as Clements goes, he is the best CB available and a proven player at the position. It is my understanding that he also does a good job in run support. Bringing Clements in is pretty much the only big move available on the FA market now that the tags have taken 90% of the best talent out of play.

Yea, but McGahee is going to want to start, and if he doesnt hes going to cry about it. Last thing we need. The competion couldnt hurt though, your right about that. I just think the guy could bring more problems than solutions. There are other good backs that wont come with as much baggage.

I can definitly dig getting Clements though, for sure.

  9. They can get fat bag of dick for all I care, becuase that's what their giving us return. <_<

For real. Now I will always be a Giant fan, but I gotta say, If Brandon doesnt get every chance to start for us, then Im going to have to sit out for a while till they can every moron in charge. Last thing we should do is keep BJ's in the back seat.

  10.

McGahee is a trouble maker and will not except a backup roll. For a 2 back system to work, one has to except the back-up rolle. McGahee is looking to get paid, and will cause trouble if he doesn't.

This deal doesn't make sense at all...

    A) We need a change a pace RB...McGahee is not that. in fact, he's slower than Brandon and is not much of a slasher. He will not except the back-up rolle...trust me on this.

B ) McGahee will cost us more than any 3rd or 4th round draft pick ever will. Again...THERE ARE QUALITY RB IN THE 3-6 ROUNDS IN THIS YEAR DRAFT. This draft is loaded with RBs. Especially 3rd down backs.

    C) McGahee doesn't care about anyone but himself...He's always been a 'me' kinda of player and he's had some major injury issues. Isn't that the kind of players we are trying to get rid of here?

    D) The Bills are going to ask for more than a 4th round draft pick...

And last) We still have Bradon Jacobs....

It just simply amazes me sometimes. Giants fans just can't get over the fact that Tiki is gone and have to start thinking about developing our own players. I for one, is looking forward to developing our own draft picks and not someone else cast off. We ahve other major problems right now...RB is not one of them.

Thats all I needed to hear. Forget that chump.

  11. Pass on Harper. If we can't get Clements we should go for Hood. The guy can play and is affordable. June, meh. He'll want a little more loot than he's worth.

I dont know why anyone would want Hood to come here. The guy sucks. Plex burned him in every game.

  12. DT is our first concern? WTF is this guy thinking? He didnt even mention the 2 glaring holes at LBer. At least we have 2 good starters at DT.

Side note- if they bring in someone to start at running back, im going to puke.
