I agree.. I like Briggs, but we need a consistent corner or safety..besides G. Wilson, we suck... and now we have to learn a differant defensive coach...don't be surpirised if our defense sucks a bit in the earlier part of the year

After looking close at Briggs stats, I've changed my mind. If we can get Briggs in here, then thats what you have to do. We could get by with a lesser FA corner (he'd obviously have to be better than what we have). To me though, we have enough money, get both. Even if we do nothing else the rest of the off season.

With Barber gone, we definitely have enough for the two. You have to keep in mind we're cutting a few deadbeats like Emmons and shitfield too.

We are not cutting Cofield. We'd be fools. Kid played alittle less than average for a seasoned Vet, as a ROOKIE. Sure he got tired tward the end, but the kid has a big up side, and will show much improvment as early as next season. He will be around for a long time. Im very exited about both him and Kiwi. The line will be much better than last year now that both of those rookies have some starting time.

Would definetaly be a smart move. I am not sure on our cap room situation though, do we have enough for both Briggs and one of the two CBs? If not what position do you focus on?

Gotta go with a corner if thats all we can get outta the top FA's. But man, it would really be nice to get both.

I would be if I were you too. You only get 8 home games a year. Heck, Im pissed that the Giants even have to deal with jet lag in the middle of the season.

If its all we do this off season as far FA's, we might be able to pull it off. But I'd really like to bring in a top 5 LBer though.

Either one of these guys would be a considerable upgrade over our current CBs, but Samuel has really impressed me this postseason. He's a little younger, and probably will come cheaper, so he gets my vote.

A corner getting alot of tackles, may not be a good thing, if you dig what Im saying.

I just don't see him as the back that's leading us into the future. I think he can be a decent back but I feel like he doesn't hold on to the ball well and is out there just looking to hit people. I like backs that choose their holes wisely and cut back. Jacobs isnt going to be juking anyone nor is he breaking a 50+ yard run.

Sure he will. This guy is VERY fast. If he can find a way to stay healthy, he could very well end up one of the best RB's in the league. I cant wait for him to get his shot.

I am kinda on the fence here with our RB situation but like damn if Jacobs gets hurt then who do we have ? not only that but with jacobs running they way he does he will be out of football in 5 years .

sad thing is next year we'll start out 5-3 or 6-2 once again. People will say hey good thing they didn't fire Coughlin. However, we're so talented we can beat teams with no coach.

 

Then some guys will get injured, Coughlin will have to coach, the plays they call on offense will have to get creative, and then we're going to suck in the 2nd half, be one and done in the playoffs if they make it.

 

All 3 years when Coughlin was here and he was forced to coach in a game and outcoach somebody, he failed.

 

I guess we're settling for mediocrity. I have more respect for Isiah Thomas than Tom Coughlin.

Coughlin was never forced to coach in a game. Thats what the cordinators do. Tom Never assumed play calling at any point. I love when people just say shit to suit there cause. WTF are you talking about?

I dont understand how this wasnt obvious to you all from the begining. Its like you dont know the Giants at all. Coughlin is a good coach. Gets the team prepared well during the week. We dont fall apart till game day, and thats more on the cordinators. Its really a win win. If Coughlin does have a good season with New OC and DC, then great. If not, you throw a truck load of money at BB and get his ass in here.

Lets just hope the new coaching staff and front office will have the brains to properly use his and this teams talent. The Giants number 1 play next year should be an off right tackle run... Get in there behind big Chris Snee and kick some ass

Tell me about it. I dont know how many times I'd be screaming for them to put this kid in when Tiki was having a not so good game. We should have used him alot more this year than we did. One Good thing about it though, is he has basicaly been preserved for this coming season, and has used this time to get a good understanding of the play book, and improve his blocking skills. If they use him right, our run game will be VERY hard to stop.

I don't think the concerns are can he do it, I think the concerns are can he hold up through an entire season as the featured back.

 

He has never been the featured back, has always been part of a tandem.

Oh for sure, we definitly need someone to spell him every now and again. To me though, this kid has a better up side than Tiki. Tiki would get his 100 yards a game, in 2 or 3 big runs, and be a possible no show the rest of the game. Where BJ will get his a chunk at a time, a constant 5 yards a carry. That kinda run game is hard to stop. Especialy when you have a capable passing game.

Sorry to hear that, your missing out on a great video. It shows almost every play hes had as a Giant. My God, they cant stop him when they know he's getting the ball. Whats going to happen when they dont know he's getting it?

To me, this video shows the kid has it all. Great speed, strength, vision. He'll go around you, over you, and if he has too, he'll go through you. Kid even has good hands, catching outta the back field, or on screens. I trully havent seen such dominance since the likes of cats like , LT, Ray lewis, LD. I cant wait to see this kid in a whole game.
