  1. What was once ranked among the best defensive lines in the league. This year that line much like the rest of the team isn't close to what it was a year ago.

Sadly Barry Cofield is still on his way to another team and I haven't found a reason as to why. If Reese is glad Cofield is still here, how about an attempt to re-signing Barry Cofield as a signal.

Three more games added to the win column since our last loss, another two or three will guarantee our spot in the playoffs.

  2. Why can't people simply give credit to the Giants for beating teams? It has to be some fluke that we won. I realize how absolutely easy it is to look at teams this far into the season and point out they weren't a good team this year.

We've beaten teams good teams and beaten teams few could predict would be at the bottom of their division.

State of the NY Giants Defense? They are hanging tough out there for a lot longer than they ever had to in the past few years because the offense can't hold on to the ball. There have definitely been a few games where it took some time for them to get on track if they got on track at all and you can say that about any team in the league.

  3. Well they are physically falling apart down there. I wish Antrel much luck in finding something fan won't boo. We could be winning by 70 points and still boo a playcall.

People were booing because they looked exactly like the Giants from last year. Falling apart in the second half of the season.

  4. He made the changes necessary to win the game. This game would not have been won if we stayed with three WR sets. I only wish he spend as much time focusing on throwing the ball to our talented tight ends and running backs as he did our wide receivers. We always look forward to hearing about how our wide receivers spend time catching passes from Eli Manning in the offseason and hopefully this offseason our RBs and TEs put an equal amount of time in so that this team can survive injuries to our WR core in the future.

  5. That would definitely be the ideal. We absolutely must do better than 3-3 to get into the playoffs.

And we might as well just win every game we can until the end of the season...it only makes sense, right?

Every win will put us in better position.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that this is a must win. Every game from here on out is mostly a must win.

  6. If we lose this sunday against Jacksonville, nothing changes for us. This is the one game we can afford to lose because everyone else is division or conference opponents. I'd take a loss this sunday if we win every game after or every divisional game. Now if only we could make that kinda bargain...

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Frustrated with the fumbles and turnovers, Tom Coughlin said Brandon Jacobs will start ahead of Ahmad Bradshaw against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

Bradshaw lost his fifth fumble of the season in Sunday night's loss to the Eagles as the Giants turned the ball over five times. The Giants lead the NFL with 30 turnovers. "We are going to have Brandon start this week but as I said the other day, there are plenty of carries to go around," Coughlin said. "The number one consideration is to try and stop beating yourself. It is very frustrating." Coughlin said both running backs will still share carries and third running back D.J. Ware will see some carries as well. When asked if Jacobs will remain the starter, Coughlin replied, "We are going to play this game." Ohm Youngmisuk covers the Giants for ESPNNewYork.com.

In other words, Coughlin threatens to keep Bradshaw from breaking Tiki Barbers' record for fumbles in a single season.

Thank God and a game too late.

  8. Its a good start with Michael Clayton but I'm really hoping they shelve the 3 WR sets. If and when Kevin Boss is healthy, how about some 2 TE sets. We have 2 healthy rbs, how about putting them out there at the same time too. One thing is for sure, the offensive production we enjoyed has come to a sudden end.

Would you of rather the Giant's done nothing and gone into Jacksonville with just Manningham, Calhoun, Hegan?

He's not on the level of Nicks or Smith but he's better then Calhoun and Hegan, atleast they will need to put a CB on him.

  9. I don't think 9-7 is going to cut it for the playoffs this year.

Injuries and turnovers have just about cost us a playoff spot this season.

Things to consider: We are thin on the offensive line and wide receiver. I have seen no reason to believe that O'Hara is coming back. Diehl thinks he can be back in two weeks. We're down four wide receivers with only two coming back before the end of the season. They can bring in anyone they want but nobody is going to replace the production of Hicks and Smith.

Bradshaw is on pace to break Tiki Barber's fumbles in a single season and there is no reason to believe that he is going to stop coughing up the ball. With his production down drastically the last three games and his problems holding on to the ball, our running game is out of gas.

I don't blame Eli Manning for every single interception this year and he's running out of quality targets. We have been feasting on big plays down field and the guys who made those plays are out for 3 weeks.

The defense better start scoring points because I don't see much coming out of our offense for the next 6 games.

We have 6 games left in the season, 3 games against team currently in first place in their division or tied for first with only one of them having no impact on our NFC standings. The game next week against Jacksonville is the only one we could lose. Going 5-1 the rest of the season would make us a lock for the playoffs, as things stand now the team goes 3-3 and miss the playoffs.

  11. I remember that draft, a lot of Maclin fans on this board that year. People were knocking Nicks as being a possession receiver when we really needed a number one WR capable of stretching the field. I feel pretty good about how Nicks has turned out.

I really don't like making comparisons to Nicks and other receivers. I think Nicks and Manningham are benefiting from defenses blanketing Steve Smith this year. Smith is still making catches, Nicks and Manningham are making them pay for it.

  12. Have to agree with the dog on the standards everyone is using for judging QBs on the list. The seem to adjust according to the Quarterback. This is just a personal top 5 list with no set standards. Gonna knock one QB for having an excellent defense and the other guy gets a pass.

  13. I'm surprised anyone considers him a future starter.

i think tavaris jackson is going to surprise people if he gets a shot.

he seemed to be putting it together in the last 4 games of the 2008 season before they got favre: 59-89 740 yards 8 TD's 1 INT and 3 wins.

didnt look too shabby out of the bullpen last week either

  14. Its been special the last few years we just gotta get people back healthy and keep the healthy in top shape.

    So very true.

Regarding a letdown, I don't see it happening. It could happen down the road, though, but right now, except for Kiwi, this is a pretty healthy team.

Amazing to think our most versatile defensive player goes down, but the team continues to improve.

Seriously, I'm really thinking the Giants could have a special team this year.
