If he can block, we won't ask anything more of him.

I'm pushing for Bear Pascoe this season. Starting at TE or FB.
Bear Pascoe not only has a far more impressive name....well I take that back Kevin Boss had BOSS....but he also was below average if not average in the Hedgecock Swing Pass compared to the namesake of the Giants saving offensive play on third downs.
-
Eh, they'll be playing when it counts.
-
Happens right after we lose one who could catch one pass a game.
Since when did the TE position become the most pivotal part of a Gilfuck offense?
-
Don't blame him for rejecting the 2 million. He wants guaranteed money, who doesn't?
Let him go find a trade after the season, first round compensation required. If he wants to pull that bum knee deal with him for the rest of the season, it can only hurt his future value.
-
Eh, not a big deal.
Raiders fans needed this, it was their major acquisition of the year. Boss will be around just as long as Gibril Wilson was.
-
eh, he's just getting warmed up for dancing with the stars.
-
Signed an all you can eat contract so he won't count towards the cap.
Must be they got Rocky cheap and thought he was serviceable so he's back. I wonder if they are going to cut Canty tomorrow and possibly re-sign him cheap.

Yet we keep drafting guys who are better receivers than blockers. This is one example of the disconnect between the players we draft and how we use them.
Lets also realize that the limited view of the offense goes straight on up to Coughlin. Who also happens to have a perverse desire to throw it to the FB.
The way Gilly uses the TEs honestly we could have Shannon Sharpe in his prime and he would still only catch two passes a game.
The TEs in Gillys system dont catch passes, they are there to be an extra blocker or an relief outlet for Eli.
I think Boss is a good TE for the Giants simply because he is a good blocker who can catch the additional pass, plus he comes cheap.

Heard the same thing about Jonas Seawright. Gabe Watson has one thing going for him and that is size. Lacks the motivation and takes most plays off.

Umenyiora mentioned how long-time fixtures on the Giants like Shaun O'Hara and Rich Seubert were recently released as a reason why players need to get the best deal possible.
"Saying I have two years left on my deal," Umenyiora wrote. "These contracts only mean something to us? Where is O'Hara? Where is Seubert? True inspirational football players. They were cut after being injured. They have years left on their deal. Why is (Brandon) Jacobs asked to take a pay cut? He has (two) years left on his deal."
"The fact is in the business we are in, if you get injured, or they feel like you underperformed, they cut you without hesitation," he continued. "But if you clearly outplay your contract, and ask for something to be done, you're a bad guy and not a team player. It's ridiculous."
Osi does have a point.

Lets get ready to FUMBLE!

I'd rather play for Coughlin. Rex is an emotional rollercoaster and there are no tracks.
I would really rather play for Marvin Lewis because no matter what I do, that check is still coming to me.

Had very little room to work with.
What a horrible list. Clayton found time to cover 7 teams?
When it comes the Cardinals, they do great every offseason because they fail during the season. Panthers re-signed their own players, big whoop. How do the Bengals not make that list of losers in free agency by failing to trade Palmer to the Cardinals? The Bucs gave $19.6 million to an average punter, they should top the loser list.
Only team that deserves to be on that very short list is the Eagles.

He's not going anywhere.
-
Well it took some time but now we know who ate Jonas Seawright
-
Good for Plaxico, saved me the trouble of coming to terms with bringing him back when we have managed to get younger and faster at WR.
-
His fumbles are priceless.
Redskins have money to spend. Pretty far under the cap right now. Ryan Torrain has shown some promise but he's not known for being durable.
With our quarterback situation I wouldn't be surprised if we try and emphasize the run this year. We could afford to pay more than you guys but maybe Bradshaw isn't worth a huge contract. In any case it doesn't hurt for the Redskins to run up the price on Bradshaw while finding out what price we could pick him up at.

I loved the Jernigan pick, it was far from a strong RB class this year. Not worried about RB yet. Bradshaw will come around.
The way the draft panned out, we kept missing opportunities to draft a running back (until the 7th Rd in Da'Rell Scott), but this is why I was a big proponent of getting a guy earlier. I can't complain with the first two rounds of our draft, but the Jernigan pick I was not a fan of. I thought running back would be a critical position to draft. A guy I really liked was DeMarco Murray in the third but the Cowboys picked him up 12 picks ahead of us. But Taiwan Jones was an option in the 4th and we went with James Brewer. I think Reese has done an impeccable job in the draft, and anybody can say we should've done this or that in hindsight... so I won't do it... but I do lament that we didn't get an opportunity to get Murray or Johnny White from UNC a bit later.
What the hell, maybe Da'Rell Scott is going to blow it up. I like the kid, he has explosiveness. We need Bradshaw to come back. He is such a dangerous running back... if he could get a little luckier with his health and fumble the ball less, he would be on par with the best running backs in the NFL... Chris Johnson, AP, you name it. He's a baller.

Something about losing $30000 per day missing training camp seems to have reminded him how much he loves training camp.
Never quite understood the logic of holding out of camp unless you were getting franchise tagged every year. IMO, Umenyiora should learn from Barry Cofield and get paid later on instead of acting like spoiled child.
Osi will report to camp tonight Per ESPN...................

Better off keeping Bear Pascoe at FB if we're not serious about going after Vonta Leach. From what I've read so far, he wants to get paid.
-
Eh
I hope Matt of all people really puts it altogether this season. I can't think of another rookie who had it as rough as he did last year.
-
LOL
Diehl is a team player, he won't make waves over it. Besides, IMO it is temporary.
-
Kareem Mckenzie had a better season in 2010, it was hard to watch him in 2009.
Will Beatty, far from ready to takeover for David Diehl. Wouldn't be surprised if he ends up at RT in the future.
David Bass, Adam Koets and Mitch Petrus are all in the running for Center.
Koets took over for O'Hara early on but was later replaced by Seubert. Looking forward to seeing Petrus in his second season.
Probable offensive line going into the season:
Diehl, Boothe, Bass, Snee, McKenzie
Giants Free Agent Steve Smith To Visit Team Early This Week

Giants are in a good position either way this goes. If Smith Smith does go elsewhere, there is depth behind him.
He'll be hard to replace, but not irreplaceable.
