Chris Davis had the making of a sure fire star right off the bat, I was enamored with him and he quickly became my favorite Ranger. Then he just couldn't stop striking out. He played great D at First and had pop but was just striking out 2 or 3 times a night. Glad to see he got it together.
Nelson Cruz is another one, if I'm remembering right he used up all his options and even cleared waivers once, then he figured it out and has been a very good player. I guess it's reasonable to assume roids could have played a part in his stry, but I don't buy that.
What are some others? Whats some theory's on why some guys spend years in the minors or don't live up to expectations and then all of a sudden they put it all together and dominate?

Guys who take a long time to put it all together
