Mr. P
Fallon Smith @FallonSmithCSN 7m League source: NY Giants have offered Rashad Jennings... he's waiting on Oakland to make their move now.
gmenroc
Would be a huge signing. Offensive line, RB, and CB are focus so far. I like it. Looks like we'll be counting more on last year's draft picks in Moore and Hankins on the D Line.
Sephiroth
I like Rashad Jennings. Only guy to rush for over 100 on us last year, no?
Treehugger
Giving up on Wilson?
Bigblue25
Giving up on Wilson? Jennings is going to be 29. Probably just a insurance policy. I could still see them drafting a RB and that might mean the end of Wilson if they aren't satisfied with his progress in OTA's. To dump a first rounder after two years is a little rough, but with rookie wage scale it's not has a big deal anymore.
Mr. P
Art Stapleton @art_stapleton 7m Past speculation was that Rashad Jennings preferred to stay w/ Raiders, so don't put him in #NYG uniform just yet. Oakland $ still in play.
Mr. P
Tom Rock @TomRock_Newsday 5m Remember, the Giants still hope David Wilson can be the guy. They're just covering themselves in case he can't. But it's an important cover.

Herc
and yeah he's not necessarily a replacement for wilson. if wilson can play then there's plenty of snaps for both of them
Bigblue25
love jennings. dude's got no miles on him too. Yeah he's 29, but backed up MJD for years in Jacksonville. Never really got a true chance until last year.
Mr. P
Ralph Vacchiano @RVacchianoNYDN 1m Also, clarifying the report: Giants don't technically have an "offer" in to Jennings. That would be illegal. But they're very interested.

gmenroc
Eh, they have an offer in...they just don't want to announce to the world they're tampering. At the very least, they have an offer ready to present at 4:02 or so. And no, I don't think this is a give up on Wilson thing. But, if I'm the Giants, when negotiating with Jennings, I'm telling him I'm giving up on Wilson. End of the day, having Jennings, Wilson, and Hillis would be a fine stable of horses for my money. Exactly, no negotiations or an offer can be submitted to a free agent from another team until after 4PM today. I suspect the board will light up after 4 and there'll be a couple of big signings announced within 24 hours. If Oakland wants to keep Jennings, they'll have him bagged and signed before the deadline.

A lot depends on what Jennings wants at this point I suppose.
GA4M
Wilson so far has been holding the team back, yes...he's a rookie, but I'm done with him if he can't produce this year.

You have to wonder how much of these rumors are started to try and force a team to sign someone for more than they're worth. It's a chess game between owners and they are not above starting rumors to force a team to overpay. I think we've been duped into it many times from other teams - hence our cap mess for the last couple of years.
