Some extra coin for Johnson, Dockery

First things first, I dig the David Carr signing. Talent doesn't just go away; it merely needs to be tapped. If the Giants can milk some of the ability that got Carr drafted No. 1 overall, he's not a bad option to have in case Anthony Spencer finishes the job on Eli Manning next year.

That being said, I wanted to toss in a note here about two guys that will be getting more dough for playing a lot more than they were expected to play this past season. As part of the NFL's performance-based pay system, rookie S Michael Johnson and second-year CB have been awarded more than many of you (and for sure, I) make in an entire year.

Johnson, a seventh-round pick last April who started five games in the regular season, will get an extra $215,000. Not bad, considering his '07 base salary was $285,000.

Dockery, an undrafted free agent in '06 who was credited for six starts last year, will get another $198,000 in addition to his salary of $360,000.
