Giants sign LB Daniels off practice squad, release HB Pass

Nov 27, 2007 EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. (AP) -The New York Giants signed linebacker Torrance "Tank" Daniels off their practice squad and released halfback Patrick Pass on Tuesday.

Pass was signed last week and played mostly on special teams in Sunday's 41-17 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. The eight-year veteran had one assisted tackle.

Daniels joined the practice squad on Sept. 19 after being released by Philadelphia. He entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Eagles in 2006. He was waived at the end of training camp, then signed to their practice squad.

On Nov. 19, 2006, Daniels was promoted to Philadelphia's active roster when Donovan McNabb was placed on injured reserve. He played in the final six games of the regular season, the first five almost exclusively on special teams. Daniels had five tackles in the regular-season finale when he played a lot on defense. He also played in the Eagles' two postseason games.
