Plax 4 Prez
Strahan out, depleting already thin Giants defense EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Pro Bowl defensive end Michael Strahan's status for next weekend's showdown with the Chicago Bears is uncertain after he was sidelined with a foot injury in New York's 14-10 win over the Houston Texans on Sunday. "Let's not get into that," Strahan said outside the locker room when asked about his status for next week's game. "You gentlemen have a splendid night." One early sign of concern was that Strahan was wearing a boot on his right foot as he walked away. X-rays were negative, but the team said Strahan suffered "a mid-foot sprain" in the second quarter. He walked off with a slight limp. Giants coach Tom Coughlin hopes to know more about the injury Monday. Strahan watched the majority of the game from the locker room, seeing New York win on a touchdown catch by tight end Jeremy Shockey with 7:49 to play. "Winning ain't nerve-racking to me," Strahan said. "There was some times when I was in the locker room and said: 'Oh, Man!' When [David] Carr scored the touchdown and Mario Williams had a big series. We did what we had to do to win." The Giants (6-2) came in short at defensive end with All-Pro Osi Umenyiora (hip flexor) and Justin Tuck (foot) out with injuries sustained two games ago. Adrian Awasom, who was signed off the Giants practice squad two weeks ago, took over for Strahan and finished with two tackles. "It was a shock," Awasom said. "The coach tells us all the time to prepare like you are a starter." Strahan even offered Awasom some advice. "He just said, 'Keep putting pressure on. This is your opportunity, take advantage of it,"' Awasom said. Strahan is half a sack shy of breaking Lawrence Taylor's all-time team record for career sacks. They are tied with 132½, making the 35-year-old Strahan the active leader among NFL players. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2650583

randoff
What IF the G men didn't draft Kiwanuka? Wow!!! This is how IT should go. Urlacher out = plenty of Giant runs up the gut esp Jacobs. Strahan out = Grossman having time to pass for 250 + yds. Giants - 28 Bears -
