this better not be true, but I was going through metsblog and there is a poster claiming that he heard on ESPN radio that the Mets are close to trading LMillz to the White Sox for Contreras and a pitching prospect. If this turns out to be true, I am done. The thought of it makes me sick to my stomach, even if it is false. We don't need any more starting pitching yet two of them. This better not be true. :brooding:

The Mets are struggling right now. They have two starters on the DL and 3 outfielders out. Endy Chavez was the injury that hurt the most. Delgado has shown some signs of hitting better and the emergence of Ruban Gotey at second. Valentin is almost done. Shawn Green is garbage. I rather have the young guys like LMilz and Gomez in there instead of the old farts. The Pads are playing great this year. They do have a chance to take the whole thing. To think the AL better than the NL is over rated. They have the DH which gives them the upper hand though. The Mets have to get better. Right now, our record doesn't show but we are the second best team in the NL.

That was an unbelievable catch by Beltran tonight. Good win tonight too. Good enough to build on this. One more game and we get some time off. Lets finish this off and go into the break with some confidence.

I have no faith in the club as a whole this year. Reyes - plays with heart but slumping a little bit right now Lo Duca - solid, not as clutch this year but solid Beltran - Strikes out way to much. Wright - I have no problem with him Delgado - Playing a little better as of late but has to start hitting more consistantly and stop swinging at everything Green - flat out sucks Valentin - not playing as well as last year. I have no faith when he is at the plate Alou - can't get back soon enough Rest of outfielders - not good enough. I want to see what LMillz can do when he gets back. I like Gomez but needs more seasoning Bench: Sucks Starting Pitching - except for a few starts, it has been good this year. I don't have any complaints Pullpen - I wish we did not let Oliver and Bradford go last year. I would have overpaid. Pen has been bad as of late except Wagner. Smith has been over used. I was very excited going into this year about this team. Great on paper but these guys have not produced. There is so much potential with these guys. I am not worried about Wright, Reyes, Alou (except for injuries) and Lo Duca but I am worried about everyone else. I am not worried about the starting pitching but the pen scares me but not as much as most NL teams. Here's to a better second half
