  1. He's making a fool out of himself........he better watch out or his fledgling ESPN career might be affected by the biterness

What in creation could make Pierce so vindictive?

    It's bizarre

Jesus fucking Christ Jack this has been covered in NUMEROUS topics. You yourself have discussed it in the numerous topics....half of which you created about a single news story. Get the fuck over yourself and stop creating new topics on shit there are open topics to discuss.

    /topic done

  2. If the Giants just released his rights without even getting a draft pick, thats sad............you don't give an inch in this league

the talent levels are to equal

As for Pierce..........lets see who would want to pick him up if he wanted to play again............?????

    The Winnipeg Winnebagos?? :smartass:

Let me bring some logic to that.

Tiki had two years left on a contract that was paying him something around 6 million a year. Would you like to pay $6 million for a 36 year old RB who hasn't played in 4 years? No team would give up a draft pick to the Giants to bring in that contract. And no team would give up a draft pick to the Giants knowing that the Giants have no interest in him...just wait for him to be a FA.

  3. Thanks for the quick info.

Sounds like a dirty ass move on the teams part. But I can understand why a team would pull that type of move.

It was put in so teams could keep their drafted talent as long as possible without having to fork over big money, but at the same time allow the player the chance for getting big money and the team getting something back. Anyways it is part of the CBA that expires tomorrow so unless the new CBA carries on the RFA system its all meaningless.

  4. how does the tender work?? sorry i know i should look for info. but i'm sure you guys can give me the short and clearer version of it..

It is kind of like the franchise tags in that there is a set compensation for them but they are meant for restricted free agents. It is a one year offer at a set compensation. The draft choice part of it is there because a tender doesn't lock in a player they can still shop around before signing the offer, but if another team does decide to offer someones tendered player a contract the original team gets a chance to beat that offer. If they choose not to then the team taking the player from their original team has to give up whatever draft choice that player was tendered at.

  5. OK, so I just don't get it. I know the players want a bigger share of the revenue and the owners want to keep more. It's money, I get it. What I don't get is, why would the owners lockout the players? It seems to me that if no CBA is reached, the owners would say "Hey, T.O., our team pays $100,000 for a wideout. Not good enough for you? Oh well, try the Raiders". I could understand the players saying "F You, we're going on strike. Try having a season without players". What sense does it make for the owners to stop having any revenue at all? Why lock them out? I just don't get it.

The players don't want a bigger share they are happy with the current system. The owners gave them too much in the last CBA to preserve labor peace is the owners position.

And they still are going to get revenue because in their last TV contracts they got the networks to still pay them, though not the same level, if there was a lockout. It is one of the issues the NFLPA is pissed about because part of the whole labor dispute issue is who can outlast the other side. Like you assumed the teams wouldn't be getting any revenue so how long could they exist without players...but like I said that is not the case. And the players don't have that fallback they aren't getting checks.

  6. I heard him on Mad Dog. It was less Giants specific. The Rams have a tough schedule next year. Steelers, Packers, and the NFC east.

He sounds like an up and coming coach.

Well he has a good young QB which is pretty much the prerequisite of any rebuilding franchise. But yeah the overall feeling I got from his interview with Fatseca was he was confident in his approach, felt he had the components to build on, and understood the realities of a rebuilding a franchise.

  7. And what did he say?

I didn't catch all of it but the couple things that stick in my mind were that the first time the team felt like it was going to the Super Bowl was in the second half of the Cowboys game, and that during the final drive of the Super Bowl he asked his linemen if they felt they could get pressure with just the four of them, they said yes, so thats how he played it. He does that often with his Rams players as well looking for lots of input from them, asking who on the other teams Oline they feel they can get through and then focus his attention there.

  8. Why don't you clue me in

I see it as a fun affair of two hand touch, but the passing game is for real..........I was merely commenting on the fact so many people are indignant that a Giants player made the Pro Bowl and happened to do well in it.

Yes it is so real...because while in your mind what is going on in the secondary is equatable to game scenarios the Dlinemen are WALKING towards the QB.

Jack you are a fucking moron and evidence A on why procreation should be a privalage and not a right. Not that I agree with that idea but damn you are doing your best to make be believe so.

That or you are one hell of a troll.

  9. we should cut all of our pro bowl players

really  ...........the nerve of them........who do they think they are??? :freaked: :freaked:

Jack you are crowning someone based on a game that the single play I saw on Youtube today the defensive linemen stood up at the snap and walked around like they were looking for their dropped diamond earring. Where the DBs played so off of WRs you would think there was a "Must be 5 yards away from the receiver" rule. I haven't seen the play(s) you are referencing but based on the single one I did see where after the catch defenders literally ran away so they wouldn't have to make a tackle I think the QB made a mistake and threw it right at Rolle...that is the only way he could have done anything good.

And that is in no way a slight against Rolle...although I agree he didn't play to the level he was being paid. That is a slight on the game itself which based on that single play was a fucking joke.
