  1. Not bad at all considering the injuries. Glad to see Hysonski and Herzlich make it. The weakest part of the team though is definitely the WR group....followed if not tied with the CB group. Teams are going to be trying to exploit that secondary early and often hope they can hold up, and given the weak WR group I hope the O-line gels quickly to provide a strong running game to make them stay honest.

What is Sage's injury that he is IRed with?

  2. and you Sir.......your topics are of some interest?.......please direct me to one

I must have missed all these exciting topics somehow

with 120,000 posts you must have stumbled across an original thought

you know the old story of an unlimited number of monkeys with an unlimited number of typewriters will eventually type the bible in full

Your house must encompass the entire continent of Africa in that case.

  3. I disagree. I don't believe a CB blitz with 30 seconds left on the clock makes TT gel any more with the defense, bro.

A CB blitz is a rarely called defense. But when run well it is a huge defensive play. Getting your players accustomed to it in a real live game could be the difference between success or failure in the real reason. Having a DE and a CB run into eachother is not expected on any play. There is nothing to be lost in calling what is a high risk defensive call except getting your players aware of how it could go down.

  4. Under two minutes to go in the first half. So according to many people on this board this would by now make Tom Coughlin, Lovie Smith, Marty Shottenheimer, and John Harbaugh all complete idiots.

And don't try to tell me seriously that since it's the third game of the preseason for these teams, suddenly it's okay. I know teams keep players in for longer as the pre-season moves along, but seriously, everyone here should be ripping every head coach. Don't tell me last week it's a crime to play TT the last two minutes of the first half but a week later it'll be okay to play veterans in the third quarter.

Seriously, lay off Tom Coughlin. Ed Reed is out there for God's sake. And they're blitzing as well!

Anyone who criticizes Coughlin for having starters out there when TT got injured is a fucking moron. There is no better way to say it. They are fucking ignorant morons who would be the same ones bitching and moaning when a defense wasn't performing in week 2 because the coach didn't let the defense gel in the preseason. They are the type of simple minded mongos who will criticize ANY decision that doesn't work because they are fucking stupid.

  5. This is good news for me it gives me something to do during a 3 year olds birthday party that is going to have an animal actor leading a treasure hunt....

I fully believe anyone who dresses up in an animal costume to be there for kids parties is one of those freaks, the furries.

  6. I thight the special teams looked good tonight. good kickoff coverage, no miss field goal, good return... Though, Punt return needs improvements.

That Jergens fellow needs to stop trying to sit back and let a hole open up and just get the ball and start moving forward. This ain't the NCAA anymore son you can't expect to outrun and find a corner in the NFL holes in coverage come as you're moving forward and you need to be able to spot them and adjust on the fly.

    Directly from Joyner's post:

    1. Michael Vick wasn’t anywhere near as good as his 2010 numbers suggest
    2. Eli Manning wasn’t anywhere near as bad as his 2010 numbers suggest

Joyner says only 19.4 percent of potential interceptions thrown by Vick actually turned into interceptions, while 52.1 percent of potential interceptions thrown by Manning actually became interceptions. The law of averages dictates that percentage should even out.
    3. Hakeem Nicks and Mario Manningham are much better matchup-busters than DeSean Jackson and Jeremy Maclin

Joyner offers statistical evidence that Nicks and Manningham perform better against top corners than Jackson and Maclin, and offers that the Giants simply throw the ball in their direction more to offset the losses of Steve Smith and Kevin Boss.
    4. The Giants can largely absorb the loss of Boss/Smith with more passes to Nicks/Manningham

My take: I will stick to my prediction that, if he stays healthy this season, Travis Beckum surpasses Boss's career-best of 42 receptions. The Giants are looking for somebody to control the middle of the field, and Beckum could be that guy.
    5. Jason Pierre-Paul and Marvin Austin could make the strong Giants pass rush even stronger

My take: In the end, I doubt the Giants wind up missing Barry Cofield much. Linval Joseph should also have a lot to do with that.
    6. Steve Weatherford could vastly improve the Giants punting
    7. Pat Flaherty will help New York weather the offensive line changes

My take: Flaherty is one of the best in the business. We are already seeing lots of praise for new left tackle Will Beatty. Beatty can't help but get better having to face Osi Umenyiora and Jason Pierre-Paul every day. If he can handle them, he should be able to handle just about everybody. New center David Baas is a veteran, and he should be fine.
    8. Kenny Phillips is healthy

My take:I will go a step further. The health of Phillips, the fact that Antrel Rolle is in his second year, the return of Deon Grant, eventual help from No. 1 pick Prince Amukamara and the apparently strong camp Terrell Thomas is having should all be positive things for the Giants secondary in 2011.

  8. Nobody else watched this? It's like Giants mania!! Lol it was a tremendous show, Fatty is hilarious too with his baseball talk mixed In lol he was talkin yanks Redsox for about a full minute while TC was waiting for him to introduce him in the next chair Lmao BtW TC was wearing a fucking jacket on the heat and sweating profusely lol I was so confused as to why he was wearing it.

Mike'd Up is on air when most of us are at work so how are we suppose to watch it?

I heard a lot of it and Franecesa was clearly unprepared asked questions you knew the answers beforehand and in typical Francesa fashion he answered his own questions. It was entertaining because Francesa still thinks he is a relevant sports figure in NY....oh and his table was set up on the sidewalk right in the middle of the public so anyone could walk by...just showing how irrelevant he has become.

  9. How any of you fell for this....I mean this is right up Joe's wheelhouse. Jack has been moaning about the Eagles, the Eagles just signed Smith...I didn't even need to read what he wrote I knew immediately it was a joke. I only ran my cursor over the link to double check. Sad effort by you all.

  10. Wow... only four million this year, huh? He's being SO mistreated.

Also lets not forget that he averaged nearly 7 million per season on the deal, it was one of the biggest if not the biggest DE contract when signed, and it was heavily front loaded. Contract values have gone up since then but if he wanted that future money he shouldn't have signed such a long deal. Sure he is underpaid if you take it on a year by year case but you just can't, and if he feels so hurt and underpaid imagine how the Giants felt paying him all that front loaded money while he was injured or underperforming?
