Are you serious? I love Reyes' personality and think it's very much needed on this team that can look so damn tight sometimes from Willie's completely buttoned up (sometimes to the point of suffocation) approach.

This is what I don't like about Ryan Church in the 2 hole. Here's a situation where Jose on first base with 1 out and he's the tying run. You have to give Jose a chance to take 2nd. But Church goes up there and swings at the first two pitches. Pagan seems like a much more patient hitter. And Church strikes out AND takes away the stolen base from Reyes. I like Church but he is NOT a number 2 hitter. What is Willie thinking. EDIT* This is the 2nd time I've seen Church swinging on the first pitch with Reyes at first, so this is not a one time thing.

Yeah we will be seeing that catch on Sportscenter all night. Lannan with 10 K's and we are not through the 5th. I can't believe these Mutts can't hit Lannan's 88 MPH fastball. These guys forgot how to hit. And they aren't even swinging with two strikes and a mid-80's fastball down the middle! WTF?

Am I a jinx or what? Lannan has 8 K's through 4. We kill lefties! And this guy enters the game with a 6.75 ERA! We are making him look like Randy Johnson circa 1998!

Yeah, it's sick to see Delgado in the clean up spot. Delgado can't clean up a dirty dish. I would've put Pagan 2nd and Church in that clean up spot. But I'm not Willie so I don't get a vote.

OK, time to start the official, Nelson Figueroa for CY Young Award thread. He just K'ed his fourth batter in a row. Man this guy looks impressive! What I am most impressed about is his control. He's locating all his pitches and the slider seems to really fool hitters. On another note, we are going to kill this guy Lannan tonight. I guarantee David Wright goes deep in this game, or your money back. 8-6 here we come!

Agreed xxi. But Beltran's bat needs to get going as well. Wright cannot have 5 RBI games every night. Beltran has to have a big year for us to contend. Church is the other guy that needs to put up at least solid numbers, because we know we can't expect much from Delgado and Castillo.

A satisfying game to watch. Nice to see Jose's bat start to wake up. Wright had a fantastic game. That last RBI double he had was such a fantastic AB. Just spoiled all the "pitchers" pitches until he finally got a hitters' pitch and he creamed it. Pelfrey did a great job, and to top it all off, Duaner came in and looked good. Would've liked to have seen that fastball up in the 90's again, but we may have to wait for that. Hopefully he will get that back. Regardless, he kept his pitches down and had good command, and it was just fantastic to see him back on the mound again. Happy times are here again.

I am really proud of Pelfrey tonight. He has done a bang up job so far this season. If he pitches like this consistently, he really solidifies this rotation.
