  1. "He may get past us and zoom right past us, but trust me we’re right behind him." If JPP is right behind him than he's got some problems because he certainly ain't going to catch RGIII from that angle. Right behind him will too to far behind him pretty damn quick. Should be a good game. I don't see us winning this because I think you'll torch our secondary. Kind of funny because we've had a good defense for a while but horrible offense, now it's flipped. Lost Orakpo and Carriker for the year and neither of our starting safeties have played a down (one of them being suspended for the year). I expect you guys to pass a whole lot. Especially with your running back being questionable for tomorrow. Our best shot will be to have long drives and win in turnovers (doing pretty decent with that lately). You should have opportunities for big plays. I imagine we'll start off with some pretty favorable running scenarios for you guys and focus on stopping Eli. If we can stop the run without putting too many in the box maybe we can slow Eli down. Still in New York and the way you guys are playing I don't like our odds. With RGIII we have a chance of beating anybody though.

    RG3

Actually the next several games aren't going to be against impressive defenses. The first real test against a top defense will be against you guys in week 7. I want to see how he deals with consistent pressure although the Giants do seem to have a problem with Shannahans offense for whatever reason. St. Louis Bengals Tampa Falcons Vikings Giants This week we have St. Louis.

    RG3

That's true but I don't think Vick was ever considered good in the brains department or decision department. RG3 is big on study, hard work. Shannahan said he's never seen anyone learn a playbook as quickly and as thoroughly as RG3 has. Said that's the reason he made him the starter right away. Of course the big test will be when teams adjust to RG3 and how RG3 adjusts to other teams adjustments.

    RG3

I think RG3 is about the best type of quarterback you could have for Shannahan's type of system. He better stop calling so many designed running plays for him though.

    RG3

He's not a going to be a bust. He played like people have been expecting Mike Vick to mature into for the last 11 years or so. He's not going to play like that every game this year and I'm sure he'll have some rookie games this year but this kid has all the tools and works his butt off. I think the biggest thing will be durability. I hope Shannahan doesn't call as many running plays for him this year as he did yesterday. No way we win that game yesterday if Grossman or Beck was the quarterback. Not a chance.
  6. My bet is law suits are on the way. Penalize a team a few hours before free agency and don't even tell them about it, let them hear about it through news reports? They haven't even officially notified either the Cowboys or Redskins what the actual cap is. What about the lower revenue teams that spent much less that they would have been allowed to during the cap? What about the other teams that did the same thing but to a lesser extent? Also, nothing about this was in writing so what rule was broken? I think the Cowboys and Redskins have a pretty big legal case and this thing was handled about as poorly as it could be by Goodell. Looks like there may even be a little back tracking because the official word from the NFL is that no cap figures have been officially handed out to teams. Weird way of handing down a penalty. http://blogs.nfl.com/2012/03/13/teams-await-cap-penalties-levied-against-boys-skins/?module=HP11_headline_stack Don't think it will hold up very well in court. The league has yet to alert NFL teams of the specific cap penalties to Dallas and Washington, according to league sources. Teams were sent a memo, however, saying that the NFL Management Council and the NFL Players Association entered into an arrangement on March 11 that resulted in $1.643 million in additional cap space being awarded to every team except for Dallas, Washington, New Orleans and Oakland. The other 28 teams must notify the NFL by 4 p.m. ET Tuesday, whether they are taking that cap credit in 2012 or using it toward 2013. NFL executives anticipate that penalized teams must notify the league of how much of the penalty they will assume in 2012 by the 4 p.m. deadline, as well, though that was not stipulated in the memo. The NFL is not addressing additional questions around the cap penalties beyond the statement released to the media Monday.
  7. That would be very odd for the Redskins to give away 2 first rounders and a second so they could pick in their normal 6th spot. Redskins are picking 2nd and I think were going to use it to get a kick ass punter not RGIII
  8. Did he do the old sleep with the players wives prank?
  9. I'd agree. I think Grossman is the Redskins biggest problem by far. If we still had Campbell we'd be a pretty solid team. I don't see this team going far in the playoffs but I think they have the best shot at winning the division right now.
  10. We beat you guys 28-14 so what does that say about the Giants? There's also only one other 3-1 team so that's not saying much.
  11. Any team can beat you. See the Seahawks at home with their starting quarterback out if you'd like proof. Doesn't mean any team WILL beat you but the Giants have issues just like every team in this division. Yes, it's also possible that you go 10-6 and win the division. I'm just saying I don't see that as the most likely outcome based on what I've seen and who you play. I think 10-6 is the rose colored glassed version of how your season goes. I think any team in the division will have a hard time getting more than 9 wins. I think the Redskins have the best shot at that though based on current record and schedule. Grossman is certainly capable of single handedly screwing that up though.
  12. You're only real competitor is Dallas? Not the team that beat you 28-14, leads the division, and has an easier upcoming schedule? Let's look at this logically for a second. Here's the schedule for each team in the division (i'm not going to even bother adding Philly). I'm putting down who I think would be favored for each match up if the games were right now. Of course that's a little weird because who knows what will happen with injuries etc. etc. but it isn't hard to see who has the toughest schedule. That would be the Giants. I think the Cowboys and Redskins remaining schedule is about even. I don't think the NFC East will have a wild card team. Redskins vs. Philadelphia - Redskins at Carolina - Redskins at Buffalo - Bufallo vs San Francisco - even at Miami - Redskins vs Dallas - Redskins at Seattle - Redskins vs New York - even vs New England - Patriots at New York Jets - Jets vs Minnesota - Redskins at Philadelphia - Redskins Giants vs Buffalo - Buffallo vs Miami - Giants at Patriots - Patriots at Niners - 49ers vs Eagles - Giants at Saints - Saints vs Packers - Packers at Cowboys - even vs Skins - even at Jets - Jets vs Cowboys (again) - Giants Cowboys at New England - Patriots vs St. Louis - Cowboys at Philadelphia - Cowboys vs Seattle - Cowboys vs Buffalo - Buffalo at Washington - Washington vs Miami - Cowboys at Arizona - even vs New York - even at Tampa Bay - Tampa Bay vs Philadelphia - Cowboys at New York - Giants
  13. Exactly, losses like that happen so saying 10-6 or 11-5 is easy is a stretch. You're schedule gets tougher not easier. You think the Seahawks with a backup quarterback, at home in New York is the only team that can exploit your weaknesses? Right now I'd say the following teams would be favored to beat the Giants. NE,Packers,49'ers, Bills, NO, Jets. Against the Redskins I'd put the odds as a toss up right now. Not sure about Dallas. I have a feeling they are going to get better. Eagles appear on the verge of a meltdown. I'd be surprised if the Giants do better than 9-7 and 8-8 is probably more realistic. You could go 10-6 or 11-7 but you'll have to get better fast. Certainly not easy
  14. You just lost at home to a bad Seahawks team who lost their starting quarterback. Saying you can easily go 10-6 or better seems like a big stretch. Redskins are 3-1 and I think it will be difficult for us to go 9-7. I think 9-7 might end up being the best record in the NFC East though.
  15. Looks to me like Cruz was making a cut and slipped a bit which made him late getting to the ball. It was a makable catch but certainly not an easy one and even the most elite receivers are going to miss a catch like that a good deal of the time. Didn't look like Cruz had time to bring the ball in with all the defenders around him. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3AiJEqyX5f0 I think if the Redskins had Eli rather than Grossman we'd be sitting pretty. We're still atop the NFC East but that's despite Grossman who is clearly the weakest link. Really no team in the NFC East looks incredible. Each team has issues. Eagles are probably out of it a 1-4
  16. It's easy to put imaginary chips onto the table. If you're for real about your convictions lets see you put down $10,000 in Vegas.
  17. I think what's going to be painful is Tony Romo's ribs.
  18. From the perspective of someone who wants both teams to lose. Giants to win: Eagles are weak against the run game and the Giants are designed around the run. Perfect game for the Giants to try and get the run game going. I don't think you guys will do very well this year without a strong ground game. You're secondary hasn't been playing well so probably best to try and keep the ball as long as you can. I think Eli trying to air it out isn't a good idea. Something does look weird about him this year. It's early but it seems like he's regressing. Not sure why that is. If Vick plays try and rattle him early. You have a good pass rush so you can give him pressure without having to do full on blitzes. Eagles to win: Take advantage of the Giants confusion on defense. If Vick plays I think that will add to the confusion. Especially if you aren't getting constant pressure. On defense they should focus on stopping the run game. I don't think the Giants can win without it. Should be a good game. I'll probably watch and and root for a tie. To be honest I'd be surprised if the Giants pull this one off if Vick plays though.
  19. I like the suggestion of making a rule change where a player has to be out a down or series if the game stops because of their injury. Easy way to cut it way down. Makes the most sense because a ref shouldn't be put in the position of saying someone is faking an injury. Especially in football where injuries are so common. I'd hate to see football be like soccer with players flopping left and right.
  20. I think ESPN picked us to go 2-14 so based on their prediction we won't win another game this year. I like being under the radar. Nice to see all these young players making nice showings. Definitely not crisp yet which explains why the score was so close. We should have won that game by a couple of touchdowns but some key mistakes kept it close.
  21. That's Rocky McCintosh who shouted something and it was directed at the Deangelo Hall. I think it basically comes down to great play Kerrigan, half assed cut block McKenzie. I'm stoked about Kerrigan. I think he's the real deal and Orakpo on the other side could end up being a real special linebacker combo for the 3-4. First game of the season. I think many of you guys are reading a little too much into it. When you went to the superbowl last you started the season with what looked like the worst defense in football.
  22. He hurt is ankle early on in the game. Played the whole game but was out on quite a few plays.
  23. This guy has a pretty funny recap from a Redskins perspective. Kind of corny but I like the "Honey Reed Doughty happened"
  24. Whenever I see a tarp, carpet, anything really I just assume there's cement underneath.
  25. I'm hoping other teams discount us like this. Nothing wrong with flying under the radar. Giants figured this was going to be a gimme.
