  1. It's a matter of the system with this guy. He obviously is extremely talented but it just depends if he fits in where he was drafted or not. Crenell being the head coach definitely helps that though.

the OLB position in the 3-4 defense is one that rookies seem to be able to step right into and play well in from day 1. This kids ability and upside was too good to pass up for a team sorely lacking an outside pass rush

  2. Still think it's a bit early for Lawson though.

Could prove to be a good pick but still risky.... especially when Ngata was still on the board.

Ngata was the second player on my draft board behind Lawson. But the Browns atleast signed Ted Washington so they have someone to hold down the fort at NT for a season. A good pass rushing OLB for their 3-4 was Cleveland's biggest need.

  3. Bingo. Since the first 16 picks will be completed tonight, and the Giants draft 9th Tuesday night (25th overall), 9 names is the correct answer. Anyone unclear on that?

Although I don't require anyone to send me the maximum number of names, I would recommend it ... just a smart way to guarantee you get a player you want.

unclear on one thing....why would you PM yourself?

  4. I don't like him all too much as an option at linebacker. He hasn't shown me much, he was basically tossed around the whole time he was in there. Sure, he had that interception agianst Washington, but it was thrown to him. I still give him credit for being alert and making the catch.

But, you're right. At this point in his career, I don't see him as much of an NFL caliber linebacker. He's made some good plays on special teams, but he's got a ways to go before he's ready to play starting linebacker.

I give him all the credit in the world, however, for fighting so hard to get back to football after such a devastating injury. I'm still recovering from an ACL tear I suffered a little over a year ago, and it's still way up in the air if I can ever play again.

Right now, i see Blackburn as a decent backup at middle backer. Certainly not what I would consider starting calibur...and he may never be...but he could develop into a very valuable backup. His special teams play is enough to keep him on the roster, and his energy and enthusiasm brings a lot to the team. Certainly would like him to stick around for a few seasons...reminds me a lot of Greisen....not the best athlete, but great intensity and energy...good find by us...

  5. Take a look at Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin....Neither ran blazing fast 40 times....hell, Bolden fell out of the first round because of it, and now they make up arguably the most dangerous recieving tandem in football.

Or Jeff Hatch....how many bench press reps did he get? 33 or 35? Because of this his stock rose, we pick him, and he amounted to nothing. What you see on tape is a whole lot more valuable than what you see on a stop-watch

  6. Proehl is 38 years old - I don't think his helmet has a facemask.

I really don't care that he is old. The fact is that he is still clutch and can still make the big third down catch. He certainly wouldnt hurt the team if he was brought in

  7. The reason that people want him is because they feel he is just gonna be another Randle El. The difference being that El has the speed, quickness and explosiveness to be a valuable reciever in the NFL. Robinson would be an average AT BEST athlete at WR and would likely not amount to much....not to mention he is demanding he play QB

  8. You're drafting him to eventually replace Luke, am I right? Left tackles are hard to find as it is and you think we can find one in the 5th to eventually replace Luke? That means he will be taking up a roster spot the next few seasons for just that small chance of him developing into a starting LT. Other positions are much easier to find and develop a late round pick mainly because they arent as critical as a LT. That doesnt apply in all cases but most.

So with this drafted T and the other 3 actually 4 including Diehl currently on roster you'll have 4 possibly 5 that can play tackle. Then you'll have only 4 to make up our interrior oline... 3 positions 4 players.... doesnt sound like to good of an idea to me especially since that one tackle you drafted in the 5th wont even see the field for another 2-3 years. From the looks of it you tried to knock off one of our "needs" by making this pick... so I guess what Im trying to say is a back up tackle isnt one of our needs. If you would have drafted an interrior olineman I would've felt better about the pick.

Im thinking the reason you drafted Johnson in the 6th was because you thought you could fit in a OT in the 5th and get away with it as a good pick.

....right now the 7 offensive lineman going into next season that are for sure are....Diehl, Snee, Seubert at Guard...O'hara at center...Luke, KM and Whitfield at tackle...The way I see it...we should have 4 guards(2 starters, 2 backups), 4 tackles(2 starters, 2backups), and two centers(starter, backup). We still have room for a backup at guard, tackle and center. Because of the versatility of some of our lineman, we may only have room for two more reserves. Either way, there is room for a late round tackle to make the team along with ATLEAST one other lineman. And where is there a rule that says a late round tackle can't eventually mature into a good player and future starter? Worst case scenario is he doesn't work out and we cut him next season...

The reason I took Brandon Johnson in the 6th was that the ranking i was looking at led me to believe he would be there in the sixth round, and he would be a great value pick at that point.

    Don't judge me pizan
