  1. First move by Detriot you agree on?

They have brought in very good coaches and signed Dan Campbell today. I dont know how you cant agree with any of those moves.

Well I wanted Dan Campbell back with the G-men...so i don't like that move....Fuck them :brooding:

  2. ehh only 4 mil....

No way in hell can we sign a DT(a good one at lest like Rocky or Buckner) Demps and Arrington

i am almost leaning to sign Buckner/Rocky (doubt we can sign Rocky) and Draft D'Qwell Jackson and second a saftey

not a big fan of rookie DT's

thats why im all for grabbing Buckner on a two year contract, and drafting a DT high (2nd or 3rd) to replace him down the road....

  3. If we can bring in Demps and Buckner/Sam Adams I would be very happy if that is all we did in free agency. I am not comfortable at all with Lavar, and like it said, he freelances and likely won't fit our scheme, no matter how amazing an athlete he is.

We can find a quality LB in the first round...no reason to throw all our remaining cap money at a malcontent, unmotivated linebacker....

  4. As beastly as AJ Hawk may be....we are in fine position to get a very good young LB at 25...Ryans and D'Qwell have outstanding football instincts and much better playing speed than given credit for, Simms is all over the field and is a playmaker.....hell, greenway may fall to us at 25...Let's stay where we are, we are in very good shape to get a good player in the first round, and don't need to be trading away the future for AJ Hawk

  5. All teams go through this during the season. The Flyers went through this right after the Olympics. We should not worry about it though. Now I always could be wrong. I certainly hope not.

I reminds me a lot of the slump we went through earlier this season...The goaltending and effort was there, but the puck just wasn't finding the back of the net...we will slip out of it eventually, but i don't want us to fall too far in the standings

  6. With our recent lose to the Canadians we have gained a whooping one point in the last 4 games. We cannot continue to play like this and must snap out of the funk TONIGHT against the Thrashers, a team i feel we should have beat last wendsday. We just need to get a better first half out of the guys so we don't keep falling behind.

Not paniced or worried yet...but we need to be gaining steam heading into the postseason....not fading...

  7. plus IMO he is bad luck, having been a member of the disaster that was the 2005 NY Jets. that trainwreck of a team is something I want no connection to. This includes Jay Fiedler, Lance Legree and anyone else that might become available from that team not named Jon Vilma of course ;)

Hell...I wouldn't even want Vilma...we got ourselves a stud at MLB already...they can keep Vilma

  8. Money, you might need to create a new mock offseason plan with the new salary cap!

I'm a firm supporter of the BPA strategy but sometimes you have to use the best player in a certain position. Now, I think most of us agree that Puke Petitgout (I love that name) will be cut based on his salary and the cap savings. That would leave a hole at LT. We could A) move McKenzie to LT (which had been predicted last offseason) and Diehl to RT (he has experience there) and move Seubert to the starting LG role. That could work

But we cannot have Diehl moving positions every year. Let him remain at LG

Now, we cut Puke and sign an OLB and CB. IMO, the OLB problem is resolved (Emmons won't get cut because Green did get cut and the successor to Emmons to Torbor) and CB is still an issue but a slighter one now. Peterson will never be the same player again as Paul Schwartz said and I predict that he will get cut. That leaves Madison as the only lock to start at CB. Now we have Webster who could be a potential starter and can compete this year for the #2 CB slot. But he's no sure thing so we draft a CB (my boy Antonio Cromartie).

"Puke" is going nowhere and you all need to get that insane delusion out of your head....he doesn't even save us any money to cut him this year. First off, Mckenzie was promised he would play RT with the Giants and not be moved to the left side. And say we cut luke....you would want a rookie protecting Eli's blindside? me thinks you should reevaluate your offseason plan

  9. I'd rather save the money and go after a shutdown corner. Webster is still fresh, Will Pete, who I love, is injury plagued and Will Allen will be gone. That leaves Gibril the only solid sec. guy we got. Who's replacing B. Alexander?

I dont exactly know who's out there besides Madison, who wouldnt be all that bad a p/u branted he's cheap, but who's out there at CB?

As of right now, the only other CB out there who could be seen as "better" than Madison are Ty Law and Andre Dyson...

Ty Law is a disgruntled vet with an inflated sense of self worth that we will not be able to afford....

Andre Dyson is a good player, still young, but may end up get a very large contract to go elsewhere...

  10. How is one going to judge a missed tackle? There are about a billion factors to take into consideration for 'missed tackle.'

Also, there is no 'stat' for 'shuting down' a receiver, which will lower your chances to have tackles, interceptions and force fumbles. There is also no 'stat' for 'Causing dropped pass' or 'intimidating WRs,' to a lesser extent...

Also, touchdowns scored against that specific player is also gay... What is the law? Only gets beaten in one on one? No Zone? What about the offensive coordinator calling the perfect play for that defensive play? Again, a little too many small factors that play in.

Sure these things are 'small' but it shows one that using statistics to judge a player is gay. Offcourse it might work, but it won't be perfect or even accurate to a level that is acceptable.

My simple answer: It's really hard to tell who's better in football using only stats!

Also, if you are using stats to judge a better player, than you'll

    That's my opinion.

  11. your defiantely right, but my question to you is do you really think he would be an instant impact on our team? If he's affordable he'd defiantely worth a one or two year contract

Personally i just don't think he has the smarts or work ethic to be a big time player. Now, if he came here I believe he would be a good player....GOOD player, not a game changer or pro bowler....but just a solid player...but he would be demanding to much money to only get a slight return

  12. See, I'm not sure what quality CBs would be available in the 3rd round (or players for that matter) would equal his ability. At least we'd be getting a solid/proven CB in the process who is also young. I'm not saying this is what we will do it's just some food for thought.

He is not "proven"...he had a great playoff game two years ago and all of a sudden everyone was all over him. He is a decent corner....but certainly not good enough that I would give up our third round pick to get him...Im sure that we can find someone with better value than Manning Jr. in the third round...

  13. Why? Because he'll have something to prove and he'll be in the same division as the Redskins, so he'd want to do all he can to make sure we're better... plus he would be with AP again, and AP won't let him be a little bitch

he will likely be demanding far too much money for a player who was benched by his former coach. Give me Witherspoon, Ernie Simms or Demeco Ryans any day of the week....
