OK, for some reason, I seem to be extremely 'off' in my posting. Nobody has publicly or privately asked for anyone to be banned. The reason for my post earlier was because of this: so I felt an explaination (not specifically directed at you) was in order following the posts that came after that. I should just shut the hell up, hand out candy to little children, and pop open a few brews.

Serious about what? Serious about not banning anyone? Yes, I am as serious now as I was then, joke or not. Please don't nit-pik. You know full well if anyone was going to be banned, it wouldn't be done through the use of a Paint-jobbed pic in a thread. All I was trying to do was lighten things up a bit earlier this week by posting a pic in reply to another mod. I made the more explainatory post today after reading the exchanges that have been going on the last couple of days.

Yes. I posted it in reply to JR's "they're both annoying" post as a joke. I knew full well then, as I do now, nobody is going to 'pull the trigger'.

Good lord, there's an entire 2nd half of the season after tomorrow. Who cares about being 'respected again'? Consider this: If we lose tomorrow, we'd be 5-3 at the halfway mark. 5-3 having played 8 games with no bye and pretty dinged up players. On the back half we get a bye, get some injured players back, and even if we finish up 5-3 in the 2nd half, it'd still be 10-6 and probably a wildcard. Of course, there's no guarantees about anything and we could totally melt down and finish 5-11. Conversely, we could win out the rest of the season and end up 13-3. I don't forsee either happening, but aside from not living up to all the hype, I don't think there is anything to panic about.

Nobody can be banned/suspended because quite frankly, being annoying isn't against the rules. And before anyone jumps in with examples of where the dog and/or badegg have 'attacked' people, check your own glass house for cracks because as far as 'name calling' goes, it goes both ways regardless of who started it, or how innocently it was implied. That said, both The Italian Hotdog and Badegg know full well that what they post a majority of the time is neither informational or entertaining, but usually posted to get a reaction. And no, not a reaction that will result in engaging conversation, but one that will end up with members 'attacking' them, and them posting sly, catty replies that slip under the rules of engagement to make it look like they didn't do anything and the general membership are the ones who are to blame. Plus, when they post the way they do, it leads to the first sentence of this post, and they know it. Although, I will admit, the dog's posts are usually less inflammatory than egg's, but still, they know exactly what they are doing and so do we. Personally, (and my opinion doesn't mean a thing as I am supposed to be impartial, follow the board guidelines, and do what is best for the board), I choose not to reply to either one of them because they don't post anything worth replying to. The dog posts in round-about ways that he knows will annoy people, but at least on ocassion posts something with some content. Eggy on the other hand, posts the same old tired stuff just to get under other posters skins. Both posting styles achieve the desired reaction, but neither warrants a reply from me, nor does it break the rules. Finally, to clear up the whole 'they are one poster with a 2nd account' accusations: To the best of our ability, with the tools we have to verify email/IP addresses, as best as we can tell, no, they are not the same poster. Obviously I cannot post their personal information that leads us to believe this, and IP tracking at this level is not an exact science, but we're pretty good at detecting stuff like this.

I missed game 1. I'm not going to lie, I figured game 1 to be a lock. Would'a been nice to see CC v. Lee, but my kid had a performance at school, just figured I'd catch the highlights. 6-1? In the opening game of the first World Series in the Yankees new home? Never saw that coming. Sucks, actually. Now I know how the Cowboys fans felt on their home opener.

Feagles? How the hell does anyone put this on Feagles? Did he have a bad punt? Boy oh boy. Between missing a bad punt, and obviously the blitzes, maybe I shouldn't have watched at all.

I said it last week, I say it every game after people start screaming the refs fucked up, and I'll say it this week: I don't normally blame a loss on bad calls, good teams find a way to overcome the screwups. That said, that non-call on Boss was huge because it would have netted a 1st down, and probably Bradshaw doesn't feel the pressure to squeeze more than he could. Coulda, shoulda, woulda, I know, but it was a difference maker. As well as the offsides vs. the Arizona Head Bob. Last week I could easily say "even if the penalties went our way, we would probably still have lost". I'm not as confident making that statement this week. I think if some of those calls go our way, the outcome is different.

Well, after last week's debacle, I was sure the D was going to abuse AZ, Eli would have a Montana (not an Omaha) day, and all would be right in Giants-land. We're not even halfway thru the season, and there's alot of football left, but we're not going anywhere come January if this shit keeps up.
