  1. I'm not sure you can but the brunt of the blame on either the offense or the defense, both had an equal hand in my opinion. The Offense couldn't capitalize on great field position early in the game, and the defense let the Eagles drive down the field when it counted most. They kept the passing game in check for the most part, but let them run all over the place.
  2. I saw that in the paper this morning, and if I hadn't already been on the toilet I would've shit myself. They had a little blurb about how he had a "long conversation" with Sheldon Brown and wants to play for the Eagles. Fucking cocksucker. Just when he won me back with his helmetless charge, this shit comes out.
  3. Myers is a scumbag wife beater, but he can and has shown that he can also be an overpowering pitcher. If Hamels can continue and build on what he did last year, he's a legit ace. The only big flaw in Garcia is that he can struggle when he's overloaded with lefty hitters. You know what you're getting with Jamie Moyer, he's certainly no heater and he's not gonna overpower anyone, but he still manages to get the job done time and time again. As for Eaton, well he's nothing special but he's not terrible either. But he's good enough to be a decent back end pitcher to close the rotation. If the Phillies can get some help in the bullpen, they win the division. Scoring runs has never been the problem, it was always pitching. Now that they've got the pitching problem halfway solved, they're legit contenders.

  5. Exactly. There were some bad calls and some non-calls, but the refs were not the reason the Giants lost. Once again, it was shitty playcalling and a porous defense. Oddly enough, that's the same reason we lost 8 games in the regular season...funny how that works, huh?
  6. Why do so many people seem to think that the internet is an acceptable place to put their stupidity on display?
  7. Other than the Runyan thing and some bad spots, I didn't think they were all that bad. They let a lot of shit slide for both teams.
  8. That has more to do with alcohol than anything. And you're kidding yourself if you think fans of every team don't knock around opposing fans at games. I've seen it happen myself at Giants Stadium. But that's beside the point, I'm not even talking about football. NYers seem to have this obsession with people from Philly. You mention Philadelphia (not even sports) and they'll go on a rant and throw a shitfit. The reverse isn't true.
  9. It was sarcasm...I figured New Yorkers, being omniscient and all, would easily pick up on that. <--- That was more sarcasm, get it? And no, I don't think there's a mutual hatred at all. New Yorkers seem to hate Philadelphians, but I can't say it goes both ways. Like I said, for the most part, Philadelphians just don't give a shit.
  10. Somehow the retards up in NY obsess over Philly and Philadelphians, while Philadelphians for the most part could really care less about NY or New Yorkers. Strange that these all knowing New Yorkers could be so completely ignorant about that, huh?
  11. I've been to plenty of Giants games in Philly, and I'll be there this weekend - it's really not that bad. As long as you don't make a scene, I doubt you'll have any problems. I've seen a few people get their asses kicked at games, but they all did something to provoke it. Then again, it's a 4:30 start and that allows a lot of time for people to get shitfaced drunk. This greatly increases the chance that something could happen. If you're really worried about it, just don't wear any Giants gear. You're gonna get mocked, you're gonna get insulted, you're gonna get taunted...you might even get a thing or two thrown at you. There's tons of parking down at the Sports Complex...some lots are closer than others, but none are more than a 5-10 minute walk from the stadium.

  17. I don't get it...you're pissed at the Phillies fans for booing the opposing team?
  18. Damn, I forgot to enter my picks last week.

  20. As long as our O line gives Eli some time back there and protects against the blitz, the corners won't matter since the receivers will get open eventually. Even top CBs can only cover a receiver for a certain amount of time before he shakes him. All we gotta do is give Eli time and he'll pick them apart, you saw what David Carr did to them last week when he had time in the pocket.
  21. I haven't really been watching in depth, but it doesn't look like the eagles are blitzing all that much, they're just getting good pressure from their line.
  22. I've always thought that Carr was a pretty good QB, he just never had an offensive line to give him any kind of time in the pocket.
  23. Houston's offensive line looks much better (relatively speaking of course) than last year. Carr has shown flashes of brilliance on the plays they've given him some time back there. Stallworth looks pretty damn good, I didn't think he was going to have that kind of impact, and fat Andy looks like he's making good on his promise to run more (again, relatively speaking). Here's hoping for an upset.
  24. Against two inept offenses...well, offensive lines anyway. GT's defense kept them in that game last week, not the offense. GT doesn't have much of an offense besides Calvin Johnson, and PSU for the most part has good skill players, but an O line full of 1st year starters except for Levi Brown. Even on defense, their linebackers are awesome and their secondary is pretty good, but their line is terrible. When the line is that bad, it makes the rest of the unit look like shit. Games are won and lost in the trenches, and what you saw last night wasn't so much ND being that good, just PSU being that bad. I was worried last week when I saw how badly the O line looked against Akron, and that was a home game. If you can't open up holes for your backs against Akron with 110 thousand fans on your side, you've got problems.
