  1. You can't, only to players that were cut and Glover was cut. Not a contract expiring RFA or UFA.
  2. I have read nowhere, no links, nothing where it says the Eagles are interested. The same can be said that ONE article, where a former teammate who is a Giant in no way dictates we want this guy or will go after him. I am skeptical, he has lost a step based on that knee, he apparently is as sharp as a marble and if he had trouble with Gibbs he sure as hell would hate TC.
  3. what about dudes that claim to be Giant fans, yet have no idea who Brad Van Pelt was. For a 2nd year QB ELI was fine, he was awful down the stretch, but IMO his year was average and for a 2nd year QB he had a decent year. Now go back to stalking 17 year old myspacers, you know NOTHING about football.
  4. In all honesty his opinion on defense(specifically the chemistry he speaks of for a LB core)goes a lot further with me than his opinion of offense. He just seems to think that ELI is better in year 2 than Simms was in his year 2. Cannot argue the stats, but the story has yet to be completed.
  5. yeah no doubt and I am sure that was the thinking with some recent signings like Alexander and now apparently Chris Hovan and the apparent signing of Ben Leber by the Vikes(something that saddens me) I wonder if there is some odd chance that if the CBA is done and we get that extra money we make a play at Arrington? Probably not, but I still remember this guy at Penn State and he was such a good player. My guess is the teams that are grosssly over the cap will be able to at least make some signings and the teams that are under will act the same as they would have under the 94.5 mil number.
  6. speaking of yourself in the 3rd person is very dickish
  7. unless of course the new CBA gets approved and the cap goes to the expected 104-110, but in that case all the teams would have extra coin to spend.
  8. I agree there are much more important issues than the constant harping on what is posted on the GMB. Glad you agree
  9. think you mean New Orleans. Ironic that that would be KC's second stint there.
  10. It should be a SW banable offense to repost crap from Giants.com on this MB. We came here for a reason and one of them was to not have to read dribble like that. I am dead serious,. repost MB posts from Giants.com and you are banned. FOR LIFE. It will eliminate these pointless threads.
  11. I believe there were a few people that hated Collins when he was here. Although I agree with your sentiments about how he did play well here after years of misery at the QB position. One thing to keep in mind, Kerry Collins has never thrown more than 22 tds in his career and has ZERO ability to move in the pocket. Of course ELI is not a scrambler, but we have seen he has that inate ability to "slide" in the pocket and that was something he was praised for by most this season. Collins is simply, drop back and chuck it. If he has time he is great, pressure him and he has no ability to do anything. That is probably a reason why his career red zone numbers are near the bottom for Qb's the past 10 years. I like KC, but his time has come and gone with the NYG. He will end up somewhere though, probably starting.
  12. I don't I want the devils gone in rd 1 and hope we advance to rd 2 and they are gone.
  13. This is indiction IMO that a new CBA will be reached ASAP. I like Ward and with Morton he gives a great option as a backup with Jacobs.
  14. yet? Simms(my man)never threw 24 tds in his 2nd year. I do not think Boller has 24 tds for his entire career
  15. Agree with all you say, but to imply(as you did)that Henriks gold makes him a better goalie than Brodeur ever was in his prime is a bit bias don't ya think? Can Henrik win ONE playoff game first before we annoint him better than Brodeur? By the way who was in goal in 2002 for Canada?
  16. lmao he does loves Bert Jones doesn't he
  17. Carl is so damn smart, not only was he a great player, but he was a smart player. He knew where to be and more specifically where to be playing opposite LT, he knew the lanes to stay in and the routes to take and hardly ever(MNF 88 RANDALL notwithstanding)never missed a sure tackle. Anyway listening to Carl break down football I was reminded of something. When the NY football Giants win, they win with defense and a good running game. Thats the type of football I long for, power on both sides. None of this bullshit putting all the pressure on the QB and high flying offensive players. Having them is nice and no doubt an offense that can make plays helps, but in the end, playing in Giants Stadium and th NFC EAST it comes down to smarts and smashmouth. Another thing Carl said was that he was as impressed if not more so with ELI than he was with Simms back in the mid 80's in terms of his ability to make plays. Solomon Wilcots tricked him into saying ELI is more talented than Simms ever was. I take everything Carl says as gospel and IMO this is a guy who knows football. Why I say this is that he has never been afraid to criticize the Giants as well. Time to build a defense boys, one that punishes and manhandles the opponents. When this happens(as Carl pointed out)the Giants could become a dominant team in the NFC.
  18. Carl Banks on Sirrius NFL radio on Thursday said about Clancy, "BUYER BEWARE". Carl thinks he is a bit lazy, needs incentive to work hard and has to have a reason to play. Said he is a great talent and a good interior linemen, but said he would not break the bank for him. Carl being the Giant GOD he is in my eyes has a word that goes a long way with me. He was around the team a lot and knows winners. I say if he wants to break the bank, fuck him. We can replace him.
  19. DeMarcus Ware was a tweener as well and he played the LB in a 3/4 system, obviously the 4/3 OLB is much different, but I think Lawson could be a long term answer at that position. He is very athletic. Do not forget Reggie Torbor was a bit of a tweener coming out of Auburn and his coverage ability although not spectacular has gotten better. I like Lawson and would hope he is there at 25.
  20. thate because they hate Shcokey, I was merely very impressed by his workout numbers and his NFL network interview. Here is a guy that did not HAVE to work out at the combine and admitidly did so because he felt it was something that could only help him and improve his status. Look at the numbers and the overall attitude of the individual and "on paper"(as at this point its all one can do) he does look impressive. I really was impressed with his interview and his wanting to participate, to me if nothing else that portrays the starting point attitude of a winning player and I am sure many teams took notice of that, not to mention the speed and strength.
  21. that time with his size intrigues me more and more now
  22. my original thoughts in the post exactly and the team I was referring to.
  23. Chavous would be a great addition not to mention he is a huge draft guy on par with Mayock and Kiper. He could serve a dual role and help EA. I am not joking either, his NFL network analysis has been great and its nice to see players are as into their own league as Chavous is. Not to mention he is a pretty damn good S.
