  1. I would take Vilma. Although I love AP Vilma is the next stud MLB in the league.
  2. plus IMO he is bad luck, having been a member of the disaster that was the 2005 NY Jets. that trainwreck of a team is something I want no connection to. This includes Jay Fiedler, Lance Legree and anyone else that might become available from that team not named Jon Vilma of course
  3. Kenderick Allen is someone that I like and think is a valuable member of the DT rotation. Look for EA to sign a similar type player to what Clancy was, before someone decided he was worthy of huge money.
  4. If you miss the sarcasm in this post I suggest you purchase a sense of humor
  5. Carl Banks warning on CLancy - Buyer Beware and I posted this long before he left. Beware of a guy who had 1 good year on a 1 year deal looking for a long term piece of coin. We can do better than this guy.
  6. 17.5 million guaranteed over the first 3 years is a TON of coin for a C who only once has played in 16 games.
  7. He is one of those guys that you appreciate even more when he is not on the field and one day when he sadly will have to retire. I for one will cherish every minute he is a Giant now as guys like him are a rarity.
  8. free agency started 10 hours ago, I will refrain from assesing what the front office "thinks" they have addressed until at least mini camp I do not think its out of the question that someone else is brought in and Madison and Webster compete for that #2 CB spot. A lot hinges on what happens with Peterson, if he will play, possibly have to retire(this creating a cap savings and some cap relief). Its early and there is plenty of time to decide as to whether the secondary is better or worse.
  9. reports that LB LaVar Arrington will be visiting the Giants on Sunday. EA loves Penn State reclamation projects, so who knows. I am back and forth on this issue. My feeling is they should not break the bank and if this guy wants to come here as bad as it seems, he will play for an incentive laden deal.
  10. you do realize that his deal with only a 2 million bonus is harldy a cap breaker nor one that will kill us whether he plays well or not?
  11. 20 million over salary cap before new CBA thats why
  12. Madison will receive a $2 million signing bonus, and base salaries of 900,000 in 2006, $1.2 million in 2007, $1.5 million in 2008, and $1.8 million in 2009. The deal also provides that if Madison has four or more picks in 2006, 2007, and/or 2008, the next year's salary will go up by $250,000 for each year in which he meets the threshold.
  13. I was opposed to this move initially for fear Madison would garner a huge payday. A 2 mil bonus IMO over a 4 year deal is not all that bad. I also got to thinking of something and it dawned on me, more often than not winning teams have done well with a dtrong front 7 and veteran secondary. I think back to when the Giants had kenny hill and terry kinard in 86 and guys like dave duerson and everson walls in 90. Smart heady vets that know how to make plays. FOr 2 mil bonus and an INT incentive, how could you be opposed to this?
  14. AP is exactly what you love in a winning player, he is smart, a real sudent of the game and a leader of men, someone they look up to. A man worthy of wearing Carl Banks #58! Maybe he can be the guy to get the asshole WR and douchebag TE to get their asses up to NJ this spring and workout as a team. Like Banks has always said, the 86 Giants knew that it all really began the day they lost that embarassing playoff game to the bears in 85, they used that as motivation from March to the following January.
  15. McKenzie aint movng Luke aint getting cut No rookie LT (or Diehl at 4th position in 4 years) would be better than Luke in 06. The extra cap for 06 solidifies this. re-sign Whitfield and have that veteran swing guy and possibly draft a replacement for Luke to take Whittles roster spot on the O line.
  16. TGG is very bad dude, talk about slanted fan views. Whew, never heard of Jetnation?
  17. I cannot see why NE would be so stupid as to let him walk. They just cut McGinest and have the coin to keep him. He has been as important to that team as anyone not named Brady and Belichick.
  18. I want nothing and no one that was associated with the 2005 Ny Jets. No thank you been there done that, we can do better if need be.
  19. he gave up 4.4 mil looking for a HUGE bonus, no thank you!
  20. umm this was a board started by a GIANTS fan for GIANTS fans that left a GIANT fan board. See a pattern? Recruit more Jet fans thats all I can tell you bro.
  21. I do not want to see him in Dallas. BTW, not to beat a dead horse and I have long gotten over my anger at Feely for that game, but Vinateri does not have that breakdown in Seattle and at least hits the 2 shorter ones.
  22. There is not a LB alive today that compares to LT. LT was hyped and the Saints did us a HUGE favor taking George Rogers. There was dissension in the Giants draft room as many felt with Van Pelt, Kelly, Carson the Giants were set at the LB spot. Parcells was the LB coach and he lobbied for LT and Perkins was always a defene first guy. It was ultimately George Youngs call and there is an old story about Gill Brandt(former Cowboy exec) and George Young going to scout LT in the fall of 80. They both got on a plane together and after seeing him play both were afraid to say a word about him because they were so enamored they did not want the other to know how much they thought of him!
