  1. That catch was sick. Very Impressive. Could have dealt without the picture though. Good luck the rest of the way fellas.
  2. I was just trying to illustrate my point. I think you know where I'm comin from.
  3. So I guess this isn't out of context. I'm just saying if you don't post the whole quote, you make it sound a lot worse than what he actually said. Hey, if you want to be over critical of a players quotes after a tough loss thats your business, but don't get uppity when people call you out on it.
  4. This stuff is insane. He is one of the top 3 TE in the league. The reason they have camp in Albany is so the WR and TE can get work in with the QB. Could you imagine if you took a vacation from work and your boss said "OK......but only if you take your co-worker with you and work on your projects while you are there"?!?!?! I know they are professional athletes, but lets be reasonable with this stuff. He obviously works out like a madman while in Miami. He is in great shape, and he shows up for mini camps. That all we can ask for.
  5. "It's not disappointing at all. I think I won a game on one side," Martinez said. "I think the reception I got really overmatched whatever I did out there today, which wasn't much. I'm extremely happy I was able to come back. I didn't have my 'A' game today and they took advantage of it. I couldn't make pitches and basically you just tip your hat and let it go and get ready for the next time. "Not even a win would give me the satisfaction I got from the reception from the fans. I will always appreciate them and keep them in my heart, and I will never forget this, regardless of the results of the game. I will always remember that as one of the best moments in my life." Dude, you have to post the whole quote. You can't just pick and choose which sentances to pay attention to. He was flattered to get such a reception back at Fenway. I can't say I'm all that happy about his statements, but he admits he didn't have his 'A' game, and says he just has to move on to his next start like any professional. No fan wants to hear that their player would rather be playing in another city, but I think Pedro genuinly likes playing in New York. He wears his heart on his sleeve, and he has a strong connection with Boston so comments like these were bound to come out of his mouth.
  6. What did he say? I had a damn meeting tonight, not that I missed much
  7. Wow, Sportwrath just fucked me up somethin serious there!
  8. I stand corrected. Sanchez wasn't available on Sunday. He threw a few pitches, but said his neck was still too sore, so he shut it down. Here is a link to some articles fyi: Sanchez Articles

  11. Duaner is fine. He had a low grade pinched nerve, whatever that means, but he was suited up and in the bullpen on Sunday. They could have used him if they needed him, but they didn't so Willie gave him a day off. No DL for Sanchez. Good news for us.
  12. Wow, I can't believe no one acknowledged this line. Bravo 420!
  13. I didn't know Stra was married to Cher :yikes:
  14. I just checked the Daily News web site and don't see anything that has to do with Pelfrey.
  15. I don't know why they would do this. Sanchez is back and ready to go as of yesterday. There was just a big article in my local paper yesterday about how the mets are taking it slow with this guy. He is still developing his breaking pitches in the minors and he is only in AA. Probably just a rumor, but we will see. The mets do seem to have a history of bringing pitchers up too fast.
  16. I agree with you. I'm a big Heilman supporter. I'm just tryin to get under Plax's skin a little.
  17. Well another scoreless inning. Sure he had a couple of baserunners, but he worked his way out of it. I also heard on the radio today that he is ranked 5 th in the league in leads held.
  18. Reyes is on freakin fire!! another lead off homer. (but not furious)
  19. I don't know if any of you guys have seen any of these toronto games, but there is some fucking deuche bag at every game that blows an air horn every time one of our guys tries to swing, throw a pitch, catch a fly ball etc. I can't believe this is legal, or that the security at the stadium doesn't take it away. Man I would hate to sit next to the person that has that air horn, I think I would probably be in stadium jail by the end of the first.
  20. Trachsel tries to win his fourth straight New York (46-28) at Toronto (41-33), 12:07 p.m. ET By Marty Noble / MLB.com Every so often, Steve Trachsel gives a special performance. Witness his 1-0 victories against the Red Sox (and Pedro Martinez) and the Yankees (and Orlando Hernandez) in successive starts in 2000, and his eight innings of shutout baseball against the Giants last season in his first start after returning from back surgery. Trachsel dropped a special one on the Blue Jays the only time he faced them as a member of the Mets in 2001. He shut them down for eight innings in a game the Mets won, 3-0, at Shea on July 15. He allowed four hits and a walk and struck out five. And again, he outperformed a name pitcher, Roy Halladay (though Halladay hadn't yet emerged). That performance means little in terms of Trachsel's Sunday start against the Blue Jays. The only member of the Jays starting lineup that day who still is with the team is Halladay, though a first baseman named Carlos Delgado did pinch-hit and walk. And Trachsel, who has the longest active Mets tenure among the current players, is the only player left from that Mets team. Pitching matchup NYM: RHP Steve Trachsel (5-4, 4.67 ERA) Trachsel has won his three most recent starts, though he hasn't pitched as effectively -- a 4.67 ERA -- as he did in his three most recent losses -- a 2.00 ERA. TOR: RHP Josh Towers (1-8, 8.76 ERA) Right-handed hitters are batting .372 against Towers, who is quite right-handed. They batted .292 against him during the previous three seasons. Complete coverage >Player to watch Lyle Overbay has batted against Trachsel nine times. He has three walks and three hits. 21. Your last post was a blistering critique of Mr. Heilmans recent performance. I'll give you the fact that his numbers over the last 30 days are ugly, but you gotta give the guy a little pat on the back for his last three outings. It looks like he is turning his crappy month around. 0.00 ERA, 3 G, 3 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 4 SO. Thats a pretty nice line. It's OK. Don't be afraid. Just say.............well done Aaron.
  22. I hope not. Omar needs to be careful with the moves he makes now. I hope he doesn't screw up the chemistry of this team. I know the core of the team isn't going anywhere, but bench players are as much a part of a team as anyone. If he makes more moves, it should be pitching and thats all.
