  1. Who the heck cares what Steve Serby says? I don't think any of us here need Steve Serby to tell us about our Giants. Just for the record I never get too excited or depressed about the opening quarter of the season. I've yet to see a single Giants team that was succesful that didn't work it's kinks out as the season went along and develop over time. We just never seem to be the team that comes out firing on all cylinders from the gate. Think season 1 of Seinfeld as opposed to season 1 of Friends. -Z
  2. That is one of the weirdest interviews I've ever seen. Ever. Interviewing definitely ain't Phil's thing. And my favorite part is Shockey telling him that his band is NOT the best heavy band ever. Oh yeah and Phil talking about Dimebag's ghost....seriously. -Z
  3. Awesome ...I'm going to L.A. tomorrow morning I thought I was gonna miss the game... -Z
  4. Average means you're right in the middle of the pack talent wise. Both Mackenzie and Runyan in their primes were stellar tackles, definitely not middle of the pack. -Z
  5. Terrel Thomas tackled well. Oh and Dodge didn't completely suck. -Z
  6. I like Gano I felt really bad for him. The one saving grace is that Shanahan got a taste of his own medicine. I was shocked he didn't do it back. This article, or any others saying that Shanahan was too "classy" to do it, don't know what the heck they're talking about. He owns that move. -Z
  7. My bad on the side you're right he was a RT but he was not average. If I remember he was actually quite good and even made one pro bowl. If all our OT's were as "average" as Runyan was we'd be in terrific shape. -Z
  8. Eli had NOTHING to do with what happened Sunday....there isn't a quarterback in the league who could've done anything better than what he did with the looks he had. It's not like he had some time, just not a lot of time. He had NO TIME, AT ALL. When he did have a look, he made good throws. And mind you his TD pass to Manningham, which was a beautifully thrown ball, was thrown with Freeney all over him. There's a lot of cogs to a football team, and many of em' weren't working Sunday for us, but Eli was doing just fine. -Z
  9. If I remember correctly Jon Runyan was a pretty damn good LT and Michael Strahan used to give him a really really hard time consistently....Not saying that Freeney is Strahan..he's not...just saying Diehl's allowed to have a bad game against a great pass rusher...especially the whole second half when Freeney and Mathis were just timing the snap and teeing off cuz they knew we were passing. -Z
  10. While Diehl was undoubtedly being thouroughly outclassed, I do think the extent of the catasprophe is definitely compounded by Boss being out. I'm happy how Eli's been looking though. Any time he had at least three seconds he made solid throws. And anything less than three seconds you can't blame him for. It's not even just the pressure, it's like the announcers kept saying, the Colts DB's know they can bump and only have to gaurd for 2.5 seconds. Had we protected Eli and at least changed up from our no LB scheme after that first series in the second quarter that the Colts scored against it, this game would've been different. We still might've lost, but it would've been a game. When we scored to open the second half, and then stopped them, down 21-7 with plenty of time, I felt the magic......I felt it....Damn pass rush. (Now I know what it was like all those years for teams facing Strahan.... I almost feel bad.) -Z
  11. Agreed. He may be right but there's no need to be airing this laundry out for everyone to hear. -Z
  12. They didn't let up. They just ran the ball with the lead to chew up time, like every single NFL team does in that situation. -Z
  13. Keys to the game, IMHO: - Establishing the run - Pressuring and Hitting Peyton - Not making special teams blunders. It's a shame that last one is even on the list but until I see a Dodge punt leave my screen I have no confidence in the guy. Just my two cents...Peyton is a quarterback at the level where you can't really reasonably expect to totally shut him down completely. It'd be the equivalent of an NBA team saying their goal was to limit Jordan to 7 points. That's stupid. The goal is to keep Jordan at 24 and make sure he doesnt pop off on you for 40. Same thing here. If we control the clock and the tempo by running the bowl, thereby keeping Peyton off the field, and disrupt him when's on the field with pressure, then we can do this. And just for the record, experts picking against us is sweet news to the ears of any Giants fan. That's just the way this team has always been. -Z
  14. I like that you brought this up I remember thinking intentional grounding and being pissed that the commentators didn't say a word about it.... -Z
  15. We're on the same page here..the guy can play. I just didn't like seeing what I thought was very lazy tackling on 3 seperate plays. -Z
  16. He missed two tackles that led to first downs (if I'm not very mistaken). Also at one point when LaFell made a catch during the Panthers drive in the fourth he was just watching him. I'm not ragging on the guy all around but he completely didn't tackle today. -Z
  17. His tackling was TERRIBLE today. TERRIBLE. He's just watching and playing patty cake. -Z
  18. It's your own fault that your opinions fall on deaf ears. If you were always a normal rational person who would look at the draft and say you didn't like it that would be one thing. But you have always been an idiotic crybaby who has done nothing but complain complain and complain about EVERY SINGLE MOVE that EA has made. It's like the friggin boy who cried wolf, no one wants to hear you even when you (surprise!) might have a point after you've cried falsely for so long. EA could bring back LT in his prime for 3 mil a year and you'd still find a way to call for his head. -Z
