  1. Way to call him out, xxi. Seems to me, the same dudes who cry and whine about a terrible team will undoubtedly be gloriously giving me crap now. Congratulations on a nice turn-around for your team.
  2. I'd settle for the explaination about just how he became an "All Star".
  3. psst....I was teasing.
  4. You guys sound like little old women in the corner coffee shop. Whiney.
  5. Okay, okay...so you took this series, gentlemen. Congratulations. As of today, I believe your team has taken 9 of the last 10 games played. Impressive. I was not here to "interject" because for the last week (since July 5th), I have been basking in the sun on a fabulous beach. I leave my computer back in PA and take a break, every once in a while. I see you have kept yourselves busy...bashing my "little league" park. I'm sure it makes you feel better that Howard and Burrell and Utley's home runs are just otherwise fly balls in any other park. Have any comments about how well a ball flys out for a home run in the thin air of Colorado? How many HR's did your boys get in that little league park anyway? Do you think they weren't legit? hmmm. Looking good tonight. Good luck. You may gain some more ground. Cheers boys.
  6. I loved the Phillies hats. The Mets fans didn't though....they seemed a bit miffed.
  7. OMG!.....that gives me chills like nothing else. (even my boyfriend is jealous)...
  8. Seems like dudes aren't as interested in "looking like" someone, as you are.
  9. It's okay. Lots of people go thru life missing the good stuff.
  10. Please don't "GOO" in my Citizen's Bank Park. Thank you.
  11. Eh, the Mets and Johan go into the record books. Congratulations.
  12. He said the Redskins would be second in the division. He gets the dumbass award based on that one prediction alone.
  13. Lidge must be the silent partner in that pairing.
  14. #1 problem for the Phillies...ALWAYS... Tight wads in the front office. It's the reason we don't have a great starting rotation in the first place. :brooding:
  15. Please don't make the mistake that I am happy with the Phillies pitching. I'd say the only ones I have remote confidence in on the mound are Hamels and Lidge. Everyone else makes me hold my breath, especially Myers. I was only messing with gateb on his statement that "We aren't any more talented than the Phillies except maybe with pitching."...and all I said was that we seem to be holding our own...keeping our heads afloat with our bats and pretty good defense. For whatever reason, it got slightly twisted into something more. Statistics are fine, I just don't happen to use them to judge the future as much as others do. It's the optimistic side of me, I guess. It may be easier for me to say that now, cause the Phils are currently in a sweet position. I'm not stupid. I have been a baseball fan long enough to know that 162 games is a ton of games to play...and in the blink of an eye, teams get hot, as well as run cold. It's a long season that has really just begun. Let's see where we are in the end. But... Allow me to go on record with the statement that I have no expectations for my team in the post season. Some of you should try it. It makes going forward all the more sweet...just like it did with the GIANTS in the Superbowl.
  16. Truer words have never been spoken. Glad we cut that cancer loose.
  17. You're telling me to pay attention? The Mets pitching was supposed to make them the "team to beat"...STATISTICALLY. Is that the case now?? Perhaps it will be the case later in the year?? You can keep Santana, cause I will say it again....PAY ATTENTION...we seem to be holding our own nicely.
  18. Relevent, like the strength of the statistics of your pitching staff, touted in the beginning of the year? Okay. I'll reiterate, I only made mention to the fact that the pitching we have, seems to be holding their own. I never said anything else.
  19. Pointing out completely irrelevent statistics is the way he rolls. Go figure.
  20. Forget it darlin'. He's a lost cause.
  21. Still not bragging...still not shouting out predictions... Still not sure why you feel the need to constantly point this out. Keep it up though. It could make for a very interesting "revival" of a thread, come October.
  22. Brilliant come back. Take you long to come up with that one? If you take off the at my team glasses, you will notice that my post was not about bragging that we are going all the way, or that we will even continue at this pace. I was merely pointing out that while our pitchers have been ripped apart for being mediocre at best, we seem to be doing pretty well...even to the surprise of many sports writers here in Philly.
