  1. HOUND

    MATCH UPS

No way I'd rank Dallas's O line better than ours. No way I'd rank Bledsoe over Eli. No way I'd rank our linebackers even with Washington's. Right now the Redskins are better in this department. No way I'd rank our linebackers better than the Cowboys. We have the worst linebacking corps in the division at present. And don't start counting Lavar as a Giant in your rating system since we haven't signed him. I also don't think Washington's receivers are that much better than ours. Santana Moss had a huge season but I don't think he'll ever replicate it. Brandon Llyod and ARE are complimentary players. We're competitive in this matchup. Philly's receiving corps isn't in the same neighborhood as any team in the division.
  2. Nem ... you need to explain yourself. Simms is a stud. I'll be thrilled if we get him. Don't put too much stock in the Browns report on Bunkley. This is now the third different player I've heard that will "definitely be taken by Cleveland if he's still there". That said, there's no way Bunkley falls to us at our slot.
  3. Ryan Pickett ... you stunad Cody Pickett? You ought to be ashamed of yourself. Unless Cody Pickett learned to play Defensive Tackle.
  4. Bernard reupped with Seattle. Green Bay signed Pickett.
  5. The Packers drafted Aaron Rodgers last year. They won't be drafting a QB with their first pick.
  6. Methinks its the Vikings. They've got an extra 2nd rounder to play with thanks to the Culpepper trade. With Koren Robinson's emergence they have a surplus at wideout. They could package their first, the extra second and Traveis Taylor or Nate Burleson to move up. There suddenly seems to be several teams that don't need a QB at the top of the draft. Minnesota would love to select their QB of the future. Seems like a good match.
  7. Falcons are keen on Abraham. Jets want QB Matt Schaub and a 1st rounder (#15 overall). Atlanta doesn't want to part with Schaub. Could get interesting. Abraham to the Dirtybirds?
  8. Can't see why a team in the top 5-7 would trade all the way back to where we sit. We'd have to give up a lot to move up that far. I'd be shocked. I just don't see this as a realistic scenario.
  9. Tyee stays, but Ponder is likely a goner.
  10. Are you kidding? They horribly overpayed for every player. Any other year Randle -El is an afterthought in free agency but this years class is so weak his valued skyrocketed. He's still a marginal #2. As for Brandon Lloyd, he's a bit of a headcase. He's also soft. Archuleta makes plays but he also makes a lot of mistakes. Andre Carter had 1 good year and 3 bad one's in San Francisco. Thei reminds me of teh Stubblefield signing. Who the hell is Porter? The Redskins may be spending money but I wouldn't say they're spending it wisely.
  11. Saints did a good job on that contract. If Brees shoulder isn't right they can cut him to avoid paying that 12 mil bonus. The way this contract is written, you really can't rule out New Orleans drafting a QB. I think it would be a mistake but then again, the Saints seem to major in Mistake 101. I've heard Clayton yapping about Mario Williams but I just don't see it. The one spot on the entire roster where the Saints are in good position is Defensive End. Will Smith is a future Pro-Bowler. Charles Grant is coming off a disappointing season but he did play hurt with a bum ankle through most of it. FWIW, John Clayton has been wrong a LOT lately. I can understand the desire to draft defense but that team needs Hawk more than it needs Williams. As crazy as it sounds, I could even see the Saints going RB. They really haven't gotten the return on the money invested in Deuce. Still, if I'm in their shoes and he;s on the baord, i don't know how they can skip D'Brick.
  12. You guys got Ozolinsh just in time for him to give away the puck to Stillman for an empty netter. Canes win!!!! I'd love to see these teams meet in the playoffs. But I still like Carolina's chances!
  13. Look on the bright side Ranger fans. You lost to the best team in the NHL. I'd also like to thank you for figuring out a way to kickstart Doug Weight. He's been shit since he came to Carolina. It's about frickin time the guy started scoring. No shame in giving up a goal to Cullen. The guy has lightning fast hands. He's a badass in shootouts. So much for Weekes making a statement game versus his former employers.
  14. Too bad it belongs in the General NFL forum, not the Giants section.
  15. Don't read too much into the TO factor, Owens may yet end up on the Cowboys, but Keyshawn's release was to help the Cowboys avoid paying him a hefty roster bonus.
  16. Titans are quietly having a solid offseason.
  17. I agree that the Titans likely draft a QB. Everything I heard said that they were really high on Vince Young. However Norm Chow, their OC was Leinart's Coordinator at USC and may petition Titans brass to take him. Regardless, I see Tennesee going QB. I think the Saints would draft D'Brick over Hawk, although AJ would fill a need for them. Courtney Watson has been a horrible disappointment so far.
  18. They need a blocking TE. Of course Schobel is pretty suspect in this area so I'm not sure why they went after him.
  19. It's mentioned in the Culpepper story ... Brees hits the Big Easy
  20. I'm thrilled with this news on a couple of levels. First, I have WR Chris Chambers in my dynasty league. The only thing holding him back from being a top 5 receiver in this league is QB play. Second, I picked up Brad Johnson late last season. He's now firmly entrenched as a starter in Minnesota!
  21. Bengals begin praying on Palmer's knee immediately! Kitna goes to Motown
  22. 6 year deal. I'll see if I can find the terms.
  23. Money ... I like the revised plan much better than the original. I really feel we have to come out of this draft with a Left Tackle prospect. I'd wet my shorts if we got Bunkley in the first round. He'll make an immediate impact. That guy is freakin huge and stronger than Paul Bunyan after a day trip to Barry Bonds spa. Unfortunately, I don't think there's any way he's still there when we're on the board. Although I wouldn't be opposed to trading up to get him. He's that good. Glad to see you've incorporated Brimmer and Shivers into the safety mix. I'm still holding firm on my original prediction that one of those two will factor into the mix. I don't think Arrington is the foregone conclusion that everybody is making him out to be. The Poston's have never been fun to negotiate with. Arrington has always a money guy. I just don't see Arrington and the Poston's making a nice match with our front office. I'd welcome Lavar but I damn sure don't want to break the bank for him. If we were going to pay big bucks for a LB then David Thornton should've been the guy.
  24. Have you seen Denny Green lately? He looks like he put on about 200 lbs. Maybe he'll play nosetackle this year.
