I never saw lack of effort from Hernandez... Effort is about all he brought to the table today though.

Is he smart enough is definitely the question....

I'm honestly not sure what effort you saw. I saw him blatantly allowing pressure and not even attempting to put hands on stunting or blitzing defenders. It was horrid, but I hope you guys are right. I want him to succeed. I've been hoping for a really good and nasty guard since Snee retired, but maybe with a more competent OL coach he'll improve and become what all of us are hoping for.

  2. I've never seen so much lack of effort and lack of awareness in my life. How many sacks is it going to take before he realizes that he needs to pick up the DE looping around on a stunt? When is he going to learn that you block from the inside out? When is he going to learn to NOT pass off a blitzing DB to a C with a DT lined up over his nose?

Maybe I'm pissed off about another loss to the Eagles. Maybe it's the fact that we've all had to watch another lost season added on to what seems coming close to a full decade of them. Idk... and I'm singling Hernandez out because I had tons of hope for him coming out so college but at some point it stops being "the Giants are bad at handling stunts" and it becomes "the Giants OL isnt good enough for smart enough to adjust to them."

  3. I got drawn to Pittman cause I've been yearning for another "Plax" type WR that can out-physical and out-size a DB and at 6'4" 220lbs he certainly can. As far as I'm concerned I don't see Shep as anything more than a slot. He's too unreliable as far as his health goes and Tate was never a long term solution to me. I would love to get a 6'3"-6'4" WR in here to pair with Slayton and then leave Shep in the slot. To me that's the next Plax, Toomer and Smith.

  4. Not the pornstar -

Do you guys feel Danny has probably the biggest chip on the shoulder - coming from a basketball school, not achieving greatness in college but a damn good athlete and QB, nice smart, comes to NY, draft No.6 and now he just feels he needs to do more than necessary. That fumble trying to reach for the marker for example. Almost everytime, it looks like he is trying to do more than necessary - the supporting cast is certainly not helping which is a fact.

I like the guy - am willing to have him as our QB because hes got that Favre gunslinger mentality - but he is trying too much.

Fwiw that fumble when he was trying to reach the 1st down marker was a great play by the defender. DJ had both hands on the ball and the defender just put his helmet in the perfect spot.

  5. I was thinking about the punt block from last Sunday when I remembered there was some debate on if it could be called Illegal Touching as one of our players stepped out of bounds before Penny made the recovery. My question is... how would that work and be enforced? As far as I know once the ball is kicked (fg or punt) barring a muff and recovery by the kicking team, the receiving team will have the ball no matter what. So if the ball is illegally touched (in the endzone btw) does it become a touchback? Safety? Does the kicking team get a new set of downs? Or do we replay the down after a 5 yarder or something? That whole scenario has me all kinds of confused.

Joe Buck's voice with the Giants is legendary... His voice on that incredible catch by Tyree in the SB and now this one.. yeah... I don't blame him for just saying "incredible.. incredible..."

I hated his call on the Tyree catch. Loved it on the Burress catch. The Saquon run call was one of my favorite calls of his.

  7. Not a bad video, dude repeats himself a bit but from what I understand the video is cut down from 45 minutes.

Makes some good points about OBJ not coming up big in key moments, and having shit body language on the field, I remember Plax catching shit for it but OBJ gets a pass.

Also talks about Eli's mechanics getting worse as he ages, but still being a QB who can win in the NFL, just the Oline was trash last year constantly being beat by stunts on the Dline or Solder being beat like a drum one on one.

I noticed I believe around the middle of the 2017 season Eli's throwing motion started resembling Peyton's towards the end of his career so maybe that's a Manning thing? Idk.

  8. I remember being ecstatic when we signed Vernon but I was dead wrong. The guy is good against the run but his pass rush only nets phantom pressure or the occasional Roughing penalty. Hardly worth the money we've paid. Hopefully someone is crazy enough to give us a 2nd or even a 1st if we throw in some extra incentive.

  9. I tried to watch some of the games this weekend.... but really could not get myself into it. I think it is tough to go from the great football played in the playoffs and Superbowl to take a drastic step down to dudes who could not make practice squads this year.

There was great football played in the Super Bowl?

  10. Brings up another point, a 7 win season and a QB who might turn out to be the real deal, and Browns fans think they are king of the fucking hill, selling propane and propane accessories.

Hopefully that team gets moved over to England or something.

That "dawg pound" is turning into a cesspool of fans that might rival the Egils fans soon.

Lol let them have their fun. They dont know success outside of the Lebrons winning the NBA Finals that 1 time.

  11. One thing that amazes me as well, he had over 350 carries on the year.

    350 carries.

Not one single fumble for a rookie RB.

He actually called himself out on that cause he lost the ball on a couple of those goalline dives but they were called TDs. I like that attitude. Always a desire to improve.
