  1. I think the thought of us drafting Smith only if Toomer doesn't make it back is a bit short-sighted. Toomer is getting old and will retire soon. If anything, Toomer can be a great mentor for Smith. Besides, we traded (I forgot his name) to Cleveland.
  2. We will acquire him from Buffalo in 2010.
  3. I wouldn't say that. Injuries happen. You can get injured returning kicks or falling in your own bathroom. What I'm hoping is that the conditioning program is so good that it minimizes injuries.
  4. Right on. I don't think I've ever felt this good about any draft before.
  5. Actually, I have a lot of faith in Diehl. Besides, Guy Whimper wasn't drafted for nothing.
  6. I don't understand why guys put so much stock in what this guy says? I mean shit, he can't possibly know what every team needs and what every team has in store. Mel Kiper should come under the disclaimer: "For entertainment purposes only"
  7. I'm with you kid. And our D should be much better too which means the O won't have to carry the team.
  8. I see your points but I think bad coaching had a lot to do with everything... even throwing the ball accurately. Just because one is a pro, it doesn't make him perfect or near perfect. Usually it takes someone other than yourself watching you do something to tell what you're doing right or wrong. For example: I've been working out for quite a few years and sometimes I think I can do no wrong. Yet someone in the gym may point out that I'm going to fast or not breathing... etc... things that I usually point out to other people. Hey, Tiki didn't stop fumbling till somebody pointed out his grip on the ball, no? And we pretty much see how balls sail on Eli.. always back-pedaling throwing off his back foot. Back in 2004 I debated drafting Gallery or Big Ben... because that's what everyone was talking about (I know shit about college football)... but come to think of it, do you really wanna waste your first rounder pick on an OL? imho no. Yes sometimes there are these superstars but how rarely do they come? Had we drafted Gallery, how do you feel about Kurt Warner at QB? Big Ben? Yeah.. could've gone either way. I think Eli is the better QB. Our problem has been our Defense. Our Offensive #s are respectable.
  9. Given the amount of time, Yes. I feel great because I totally supported the decision to hire a GM from within.
  10. You make a great argument. I mean if the guy was any good, why would a team let him go. By the same token, we're not expecting a superstar. If the guy can play at or slightly at the same level as Luke minus the false starts and the back spasms, it's a definite upgrade. As far as us getting someone else's castoffs, that's life in FA. Every team does it.
  11. I thought the same thing but I think the Giants are gonna retire his #.
  12. Doesn't Kiwi play on the same side as Osi?
  13. And we need guys who can catch the ball and not quit on plays. I think we made that clear in drafting Steve Smith.
  14. Micmac? I think you meant Mikmak. But yeah I'm very happy with the guys we drafted especially after hearing about Kiwi @ LB. LT is our only need but who knows.. maybe whimper is ready.
  15. My mother is better than our previous #51.
  16. I didn't alter your comment, US Pat. I merely added back the missing bracket.
  17. I like our draft. I'm not sure about Kiwi becoming LB. I'd have to see the guy on the field first. Besides, if it's true, we're going to need a DE to supplement Strahan, no?
  18. Hiya, JGF. Good to see you around.
