  1. Sure let me help make the argument for Marshall for a change...

    Story number 1

Staffer told players not to say they were happy for Marshall.

Was it the waterboy? the equipment manager?, one of the accountants?

Well it wasn't the General Manager, any of the coaches, assistants or the owner. Who was it? Nobody knows and more importantly; doesn't matter.

He wants more money or a ticket out of town.

no it's not at all about his contract. look, if you're interested, look it up- not hard to find. google: brandon +marshall+ injury

  2. So what exactly is his side of the story? He's outplayed his rookie contract? He's not the only one with that story in the NFL. I have serious doubts of him going anywhere else and not making that same argument for a new contract. You want two years, he wants more and that is based on two years of work.

We don't have a threat among our receivers based on what? The preseason and late last season with Toomer on one leg, Hixon having to step up prematurely, Manningham & Moss out, and Tyree on IR?

They need the opportunity to get out there and play and its just not going to happen behind Marshall.

He had some family troubles (he was acquitted) which are a concern. But as far as the deal with him and the Broncos are concerned, I urge you to read his side of the story- he has, what I think is a valid gripe. And, what I'm looking for from him is 2 years of productivity.

And yes, I don't think we have a threat for this year among the stable of receivers. I think defenses will not be afraid and they will choke our running game and spit on our passing game.

  3. What team built for winning now isn't going into the season with question marks? The only way you get our receivers experience answer these questions is by getting them on the field. That I believe is the main reason why Toomer is not here this season. These young receivers need an opportunity to get out there and show they can make it and now is that opportunity. Bringing in Edwards, Marshall or Boldin just sets everyone else back. Moss had his shot and did nothing with it and I wish him luck elsewhere in September.

I'm not saying I definately want marshall, his legal issues concern me more than the mdeical ones because as Blu pointed out, if he isn't healthy enough to go, don't make the trade.

However, I would like to see a trade for a young, veteran WR in the make of Marshall, Edwards etc. The reason, this team is built for winning now, specifically the o line, it's a top tier crew with some aging members. I like a couple of the back ups at Tackle but see nothing really at Center. There is a 3,4,5 year window for us to win another SB.

Wide receivers generalyl need 3 years in the league to be really effective. I have no doubts about Nicks or Barden, in a couple years. Smith is amazing, but not a Number 1, Hoxon either. Moss, I try to defend and think will have a good year, hasn't shown much at all, manningham has talent, but is unproven. There are simply too many question marks at the position to go into the season.

Npt saying a tru number 1/veteran playmaker is an absolute must have, but I would feel much better with a marshall or an Edwards.

  4. Can someone who wants Brandon Marshall explain to me why they want another troubled player from another team. Also please tell me whether or not you slammed our previous troubled players as well. I'm just curious how guys like Shockey, Burress, and Barber have been labeled as cancers or malcontents and troublemakers and yet you want someone else's problem without giving the receivers we've been drafting the last three years a chance. Been talking up our wide receivers for years about how much talent we have at the position and yet you want someone else at the cost of two draft picks. Jerry Reese has proven over the last few years he is quite capable of getting talented players in the draft in every round, why take away future choices for a player we're definitely going to have to give a top dollar contract to either this year or next. Also consider what Brandon Marshall has to offer us coming off of an injury and having a couple of weeks to pick up the offense.

Seriously I'd love to hear the arguments against all of those points and for going after Brandon Marshall.

  5. Oh dear lord you are talking about Sinorice Moss...

It was uncle Ernie's going away present to us. A really really fast guy who could play football if he was healthy or versatile. He is not this really great player that hasn't made it on to the field on gameday. He is a track star playing football with football players which is why he does not make it on the field.

He had bust written all over him before and after the draft.

  6. Who is this you speak of? It can't possibly be Sinorice Moss.

Because he's physically, and potentially, a better WR than Hixon. Moss never gets to see the field, I love how you guys make all these conclusions about how good he is and have rarely got to see him play.

  7. Figured it was a size thing. Hell, every other team in the league uses one snapper and DeOssie is gonna have to step up.<_<

DeOssie has been a decent snapper for punts but there's a reason he hasn't done FGs. These are two very different tasks.

And you're probably right about not trading for a WR but I don't know how they can't be at least exploring options.

  8. Dockery can flat out play. I remember when they signed him, went completely under the radar because he was 5'8. He's been here for three years because he gives everything he's got. I can see him starting elsewhere next season.

Hope you're right....but I've been expecting someone to beat him out for ...yes, three years now.

  9. Not that big of a deal, DeOssie can snap. Giants are not trading for a wide receiver and Kiwanuka is certainly not forgotten.

Here's the bottom line - Alford is likely done for the season and don't expect Canty to contribute anything until mid-season, at best. Biggest problem here is finding a snapper for FGs, since that was Alford's job. They'll be scouting other camps and scanning the waiver wire for someone to take that role.

With Canty's torn hamstring, a 10 week recovery period might be pessimistic or optimistic. They are that unpredictable. But if he can start playing again by late October/early November, that would give a big lift to the DL that will just be starting to feel the grind.

Suddenly, Bernard becomes very important. If he's healthy and can stay that way, you still have Cofield and Robbins (amazing recovery from micro-fracture surgery, thank God) rotating with Bernard on the inside. Yes, this derails some of the exotic formations that Canty seemed to be an integral part of, since he can play inside or outside but it's not like we're scrapping bottom.

I also wonder if this derails a possible trade for a wide receiver, with the forgotten man - Kiwi - as the bait. Now, he might be needed more that they were counting on last week.

  10. I'm really not worried about anything but the nagging injuries. We lost a preseason game; so what! We looked really bad, so what! With the number of starters we had sitting, you'd be hard pressed to find an NFL team that would win a game under those circumstances. Our depth definitely looks better on paper because everyone is healthy and ready for a pro bowl season.

Best thing we get out of preseason games is playing time for the backups and determining who they are. As far as our receivers go...they're just not going to be playing like Burress and quite frankly, nobody can but Burress. When we've got all our starters ready for that first game of the season and Manning getting the protection, those receivers are going to come alive.

  11. It was Feeley. Storm ya just gotta roll with Jack's posts. Funniest guy on the board.

Dude, the return in Chicago was off a missed field goal. Why are you such a fucking idiot. Holy fuck.

You know absolutely zero about Giants football, and if, by some wild chance, any member of the Giants organization has ever read posts on this board, I hope they read your posts and do the exact opposite.

  12. I think they're going to watch Joba for at least the next two years. Hughes just needs to work on that change up.

Joba will be done with the pitch count next year, but Hughes, because Girardi won't use him, will have to go through it at least one more year.

  13. I believe Fassel had control of the roster, he just didn't know what to do with it. Fassel would have this team screwing up just like his last one, and I actually like the guy. He just was not up to par.

maybe because Cowher is a dip?.........never could stand that guy

I'd rather have Norv Turner than Cowher...........Hell I'd rather have Jim Fassel than Cowher

Fassel had Collins rammed down his throat.........never had full control of his own roster

I would love to see what Fassel would do with this team and a good D co-ordinator like he had in foxy.........Fassel was an offensive genius with no o-line, and a mental midget at QB

  14. I believe Jack helped Millen with the Lions draft these last couple of years.

    We're doomed???

Jerry Reese has done a great job up to this point.

The Giants are a deep team but not every position will

    be pro bowl calibre.

I dont think you'll ever really be happy with the Giants until

they make moves exactly as JAK would make them.

Even if they win multiple S-bowls its only right if they follow your thinking.

To help your mental condition out I would follow a new team unless you

become the GM of the Giants and if that happens I will follow a new team!!
