FLUSHING, New York (Ticker) -- Two days after both teams posted victories, the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Mets commence a three-game series at Shea Stadium on Tuesday.

The Phillies snapped a five-game losing streak Sunday with a 10-5 triumph against Boston. Bobby Abreu homered and drove in five runs and Chase Utley added three hits and scored twice for Philadelphia, which had won 13 of 14 prior to its skid.

Meanwhile, the Mets squandered a four-run lead in the ninth inning of Saturday's 5-4 defeat against the New York Yankees but rebounded Sunday with a 4-3 win. The goat in Saturday's loss, closer Billy Wagner bounced back to nail down his ninth save.

After pitching for Philadelphia the previous two years, Wagner had a controversial departure this offseason. The All-Star lefthander was not well liked by his teammates.

Wagner did not pitch in a three-game set between the teams from May 9-11, during which Philadelphia won two of the three matchups.

Gavin Floyd (4-2, 5.71 ERA) won the rubber game of that set and will get the nod for the Phillies in this one as well. The rookie righthander is 2-0 with a 5.40 ERA lifetime against the Mets.

In his last start, Floyd was reached for five runs in 5 1/3 innings but did not factor in the decision of Wednesday's 8-7 setback vs. Milwaukee.

New York counters with Steve Trachsel (2-4, 4.33), who took the loss in the contest on May 11 despite allowing two runs in four innings. The veteran righthander is 10-10 with a 3.95 ERA all-time against Philadelphia.

Trachsel has dropped three straight decisions but has not received a run of support in either of his last two starts. He yielded only one run and four hits in seven frames Wednesday at St. Louis but took the loss in the 1-0 defeat.

I think Wright must have taken some hitting advice from Reyes or Matsui- Swinging at that curve ball in the dirt :furious:

Beltran 3 hits and a walk off homer in the 16th ....

Lets make it 2 in a row now
