Giants sign CB/returner Brian Witherspoon, place CB/returner Will Blackmon injured reserve

The Giants signed cornerback/return specialist Brian Witherspoon and placed cornerback/return specialist Will Blackmon on injured reserve with a knee injury.

 

Witherspoon has been a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars, Detroit Lions and Carolina Panthers. He's played in 22 career games and was used primarily as a returner. In 26 career punt returns, Witherspoon has 280 yards (10.8 yards per return). In 80 career kick returns, Witherspoon has 1,890 yards (23.6 yards per return). He's also recorded 16 tackles.

 

Witherspoon was an undrafted free agent out of Stillman in 2008.

 

Blackmon played five games for the Giants, who signed him midseason after the Packers reached an injury settlement following a knee injury.

how many times did he let a punt hit the ground first till it almost comes to a dead stop then jumps on it in between 4 defenders trying to run it.. fucking boneheaded. Ware seemed to be doing better than ok on kick returns.

yeah ware appeared to have a clue back there. Like grab it...look for a hole, set up your blocking and run....all within a split second.
