Mr. P
C.C. BROWN TO GO SEE GIANTS Posted by Mike Florio on March 2, 2009, 5:36 p.m. EST Texans strong safety C.C. Brown will visit with the Giants on Tuesday, according to Alex Marves of FOXSports.com. Brown was a sixth-round pick in 2005, and he started 13 games as a rookie. He continued to be a full-time starter until fracturing a forearm in the third game of the 2008 season. The Giants currently have only three safeties on the roster — Kenny Phillips, Michael Johnson, and Steve Cargile. But the team’s online depth chart currently lists no one at strong safety James Butler, a 14-game starter in 2008, is a free-agent. He recently visited the Browns. Backup Sammy Knight was cut last month. http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/03/02/...-go-see-giants/
BIGBLUE01
In this situation, I would rather just resign Butler. He'll probably ask for too much money, but if he would settle for the right price, I'd rather just have Butler back.
Plax 4 Prez
So is this guy any good?
RandolphScott
So is this guy any good? He could probably challenge Michael Johnson for the starting job, but under Spags/Sheridan scheme the safeties can play both spots. If the Giants end up signing him they can go BPA in the draft. Money
Very probable that he's signed by tomorrow, unless his arm injury is still an issue.
