MakeMeSomeFoodHo
He'd be much more valuable there than in the starting rotation

RandolphScott
No, no, no, no. NO. Have Duaner Sanchez start the 1st. J.J. Putz start the 2nd. K-Rod start the 3rd. Have Santana pitch the rest! GENIUS!
Herc
i've actually read articles that seriously advocate starting with the bullpen and ending w/ the starter
RandolphScott
i've actually read articles that seriously advocate starting with the bullpen and ending w/ the starter I agree, it's just the same...just flipped around. The starter would probably get more win, right?
Herc
yeah, well it'd be impossible for any of the relievers (who would now be starters i guess) to get wins since whoever starts the game can't get it w/o qualifying. i doubt you'd see anymore 20 game winners though since the wins (or losses in the mets case) would be so spread out among all the pitchres on each team
fringe
if there's a chance of a rainout, i think it's the way to go.
Allstarjim
However, if you use up bullpen pitchers in the early innings, and your starter is ineffective when he comes in, you are short-handed for the rest of the game. Then what happens if the game goes into extras? Then you are really screwed. For these reasons it's not a very good proposition.
