  1. Fracture in his finger. OUt at least ten days. :brooding:
  2. I'm just wondering what the situation was with Papelbon hitting Tejada in the 9th. When he got Tejada to pop out in the 9th last night, Tejada looked like he was very "lippy" on his way back to the dugout (though I was assuming he was just mad at himself for popping up. He was, however, looking at Pap the whole time.). Anyway, I can't imagine Papelbon would've put a runner on to bring the tying run to the plate in that situation, but I'd be psyched if he was cocky enough to hit the guy because there was a problem.
  3. This is true. You get that stupid recap without the actual play-by-play so you can't even hear the crowd reaction. I think with MLB, nobody was buying their video package because the highlights were enough. Now they're basically trying to charge you for what they used to give you for free.
  4. Until last season, you could watch all the top highlights from every game. Then they started making you sit through the same retarded commercial before every highlight last year. Now, you get like one lame "highlight" (it's usually not even the biggest play of the game), and you don't even get it for all games.
  5. Edit: When I originally posted this, I thought he struck out three times. Turns out it was only two (but it seemed like five). So maybe it wasn't the worst offensive performance I've ever seen. Still, the guy saw 7 pitches, one was a ball, the other six he swung at and missed (and they were all hittable pitches). I know this guy is a project, but they're probably regretting it already. With Arroyo in the 'pen, we'd be set. As it is now, we're a little weak in the middle innings.
  6. Another dominating save for Pap tonight, toying with Millar to end it.
  7. This has a lot to do with the original point of the thread, by the way. Try to follow along, junior.
  8. I wouldn't be so quick yet to say Foulke is done, because he didn't have much of a spring (in terms of innings pitched). It appears that for now, though, Pap will come into any reasonably close game in the 9th. Foulke did pitch well last night in mop-up duty.
  9. To clarify, I wasn't saying Matsui never makes a good play. I've even seen him make great plays. But overall, he's below average. That was his rep coming from Japan, and he surprised everybody his first year with the Yanks by playing above average defense. But since then, you can see where he got the bad reputation from.
  10. And again, if you think Matsui's defense is "above average" or "decent", you must not watch too many Yankee games. Even Manny, for all his defensive faults, makes a great play once in awhile.
  11. If you had a clue about baseball, you'd know he turned the wrong way on that ball and badly misplayed it. I'll explain what that means to you someday, junior.
  12. Not the brightest bulb in the bunch, eh? The question wasn't "Who changed it?", it was "Why was it still like that?". The answer is still the same- the 12-year-old female mod of the section was too busy getting all geeked up about another catfight.
  13. You avoided that little detail about the problem being fixed, Mary.
  14. Yeah, and...? Don't worry, Nancy Boy, I know you're on top of it. I mean, what else do you have going on in your life? Looks like the problem's fixed. I'll bet Nemesis probably just came here and did that.
  15. He made fun of another poster. Apparently you're not allowed to do that here. Unless you're a mod.
  16. "Very good", "above average", "decent". These are the words I've heard people here use to describe him as an OF. I'll say it again- the guy has nothing on Manny. He's a total clutz.
  17. Dude, that was the regular season. He threw the broken off bat at him in the WS.
  18. 1-4 with a walk. Great catch in left, too.
  19. Yup, shades of last year. On a positive note, Papelbon is a sight for sore eyes out of the pen.
  20. Great outing for Schill. Very nice to see. Foulke got battered in the ninth, though (only one run, but they were teeing off), which is not encouraging.
  21. Why would he say he was never the same after that, though? That could only refer to when he hit him in the head.
  22. That wasn't the World Series, Mr. Met.
  23. Boston Dirt Dogs says: "Back in Boston: A Nation Waits Patiently for Johnny Damon to Comment on the Recent Events."
